I've been studying boats and trailers in adds. Some don't have any, others have one and I've seen some with two or three. My opinion is that three is better at guiding the boat and keeping it straight especially if there's current.
I appreciated the effort Jameson put into providing me with a detailed reply and recommendation. However, I am reluctant to change my OEM hitch for a larger 2" after-market hitch, not just due to my recent investment in the OEM hitch, but also because it goes against Honda's recommendations. I'm not sure if that would void the warranty on my brand new car, and I'm also concerned about causing damage to the car. An after-market class III 2" hitch would definitely give me a lot more options for bike racks and other accessories, but it also would enable me to attach accessories that are too heavy, which the CR-V is not built to handle. Although I could keep the weight limit in mind myself- a future user or owner of my car might not. I decided to be cautious and stick to Honda's recommendations for my new car. I bought a Yakima Literider 3, which is aluminum (so the rack itself is light.) It can hold 3 bikes, but only up to 90 lbs total. Their marketing material actually shows the rack on a CR-V, so it seems like this rack was built with the CR-V in mind. I am still very limited in the weight of the bikes, but it was the only solution I could come up with that works with the Honda hitch and weight limits.
Purchased trailer wheels from those guys. After 8 months and only 100 mi in them, they started to rot. Cracks everywhere, not safe for driving at all. I wrote a review, which they never published because is not at least 4 or 5 stars. Go look a the products reviews on their page. You will see ONLY 5 star reviews!
Great response regarding my question, very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Very excited to get my order. Very nice doing business with etrailer.com.
I appreciate the turn around time and the details provided in the response to my question, Chris even went so far as to reach out to other owners of my hitch to get their opinions. While I have decided to fabricate my own cover (only because the other covers were not large enough to cover the sliding rails) that is not one bit the "fault" of etrailer (I blame B&W :) )
I am completely satisfied with my interactions here, and would recommend to anyone.
Special thanks to Jon J for his prompt and concise response to my technical question regarding installing a specific trailer hitch on a vehicle with rear view cameras and emergency rear access braking.
Conner answered the questions 100%. Rack should be here tomorrow and after installation we will see his knowledge
Brint was very helpful in answering and researching my questions. I appreciate it. Seems to be a good company with responsive customer service.
The response I got from Jameson was quick, thoughtful, well explained and something I had not considered. This site has been very helpful.
I posted a question about using a specific 4 bike rack with my travel trailer. My question was answered quickly and while the specific item I wanted to use was not recommended the answer I recieved provided one that was. I checked out 4 bike hauler in the answer and after watching the posted video and the customer feedback (photos) I purchased it. I use both EBay and Amazon and Etrailer out did them both on customer service and shipping time. I am 45 miles from the shipping location... I got the items less than 48 hrs after I paid for them.
I really am not to happy about having an Unsightly trailer hitch on my Audi A7
I would prefer a truck mounted unit that I can remove when not needing it
What would you recommend?
Kyle analyzed the information I gave him on my towing issue and demonstrated his expertise with a well thought-out response. He struck with me through several rounds of clarifying questions. He provided an educational video that cleared-up a misconception of the issue on my part. I will be ordering parts and following his suggests to solve my issue.
My question regarding a choice between two tire wheel sizes was answered, however, I would of liked to have know WHY the etrailer expert selected the size that he did. Also a more detailed answer that perhaps included pros and cons of either size. My bad for not asking for more information in my question.
I purchased this Trailair air ride from our 5th dealer here in town. They never reallt explained to me how to air up the system before I left. I asked etrailer about how I should air up the bag, with a load and attached to my truck or while tt is standing on its own. Etrailer Jon was very helpful and sent me a link to a video on how to install the new pin box and how to air it up! Thanks Jon G!
Answer was very clear and complete. The best part was the short video that was attached to the answer. Very easy to understand.
It fitted perfectly, and it took about 30 minutes to replace.it worked from the first try.So far completely satisfied.
I was looking for a replacement wiring harness and the tech support (Charles) provided me with great info to help me select the correct harness.
I was looking to buy a weight distribution system and came across etrailer and wasnt sure if the one I was looking at would work with my pickup and camper
So I contacted them and asked a few questions and got the answers I needed and Im glad these guys know what they sell and are there for your convenience
Great help in solving the issue. Followed the reply information, which solved the problem. Would recommend you services highly to people with wiring issues!
I was trying to find a heavy duty variable height hitch for my 6" lifted F150. Brint came back with a recommendation for the Gen-Y hitch which is perfect for my application and also called up the manufacturer to ask them a design question about the hitch while I waited on the phone before I made the purchase - very helpful.
Answer: First one to pop up on google search. No other reason.
