The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to perceived deceptive practices regarding refunds and subscription management. Many users express frustration over the lack of suitable matches and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of wasted time and money. Customers frequently highlight inadequate customer service, with limited access to support and automated responses exacerbating their concerns. While a few users mention positive experiences, the overwhelming sentiment suggests a need for improved transparency, better quality control of profiles, and a more responsive customer service approach.

This site scammed me out of hundreds of dollars. They say you can cancel within 3 days. I tried to cancel within 24 hours because I got orders to go to Iraq, and they wouldn't refund my money. I contacted them numerous times, and every time got a cookie cut response. I opened a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. EHarmony has no sense of customer service. They don't care if they provide a good service, or any service at all for that matter. They just want your money. I would never recommend. Ignore the dating sites written by editors that rate this site 3 or 4 stars, and read REAL reviews. People aren't just unhappy with this site, they are seething at being ripped off. HEED THE WARNINGS, PLEASE. I didn't, and it cost me $340.97 for no service, no goods, nothing at all. I hope to keep just one person from having to deal with this absolutely sub-par company.
The worst. I thought I'd done my research. Was looking for a site for the "older woman" I'm a successful professional, physically fit. Most "matches" are anywhere from 100 to 150 miles away, no picture of the so-called match; retired janitor at local school district (sorry to you hard-working Joe's, but not what I'm looking for). Despite their assurances, you get nothing except a large credit card charge from them quarterly for ONE FULL YEAR. NEVER EVER AGAIN! Don't do it ladies, just don't! OKC, Match - much better (not perfect, just better).
Its expensive and something is wrong with the site. I thought it was me at first but I read a review and the same thing was happening to that person. No one even looks at my profile. And anybody who did try contact me was blocked saying they were reported for to eharmony for violating their rules. You cannot get a refund unless you die or are disabled. It is a total RIP off and there is no way to contact them.
E-Harmony is not a terrible site but it is overpriced for what you get. There are quality people on the site but it is hard to connect with them. I do not believe that their algorithm is all that effective in making matches. I have been on and off this site for several years and EH has changed its communication system twice, which does not instill a great deal of confidence. EH has an excessively high number of uncompleted and sketchy profiles. I realize this is not the site's fault but you would think people paying this amount of money would put more effort in creating a good impression. EH allows you only to identify as "Christian" and not with a specific denomination, such as Catholic. The stats regarding the number of marriages from this site are unsubstantiated. I would like to see how they arrived at these figures, since they are improbable. I have tried this site several times and have not actually met one person, despite having a number of online conversations. In contrast, I am on another site where I have met eight women and have had some short-term relationships. This site is roughly half the price of EH. I do not plan to renew with EH when my membership is up. This site may work for some people but it is not the site for me. EH should spend more money getting better results for its customers rather than on advertising. Considering all the hype, EH has been a huge disappointment.
Upon seeing a promo for "Start40" for 40% off on their home page, the code did not work upon checkout after completing the longggggg survey and questions. I checked out at the higher price, wrongly now thinking a company would simply honor their code not being recognized and issue a partial credit... NOPE... they said you checked out and you paid it! They have no customer service phone call either. Truly sad a company that goes on and on and so sincere about one finding love... f**** you on a promo!
In retrospect an obviously stupid decision: I signed up for this website. It's very expensive and I hadn't done my reading on it. It's been nearly 2 months since I signed up and I've gotten zero messages with zero profile views from others (for what it matters I'm sure I'm not a perfect specimen and am probably average looking). I asked customer service if I could cancel the service and they typed me out a detailed reply saying "No" that I got 3 days later. So they said I can't stop paying until the entire year is over and it's February (what the f%&@)! The website in my personal opinion is trash and I don't want anyone else to make the same mistake.
This website may work for some. But, unless you are wealthy and exceptionally and conventionally attractive, forget getting matched with functional dates. Or matched at all. This site conducts a kind of fraud. Don't endorse them by signing on and handing over your money.
Eharmony just wants your money, I know what a surprise! The moment you sign up you won't get any of your money back no matter what! I figured after only a week to ask for a refund or at least partially but nope! Why did I want a refund? I kept getting matched with people 60 or more miles away! There weren't to many by me, but I live in Middletown NY so not sure why, it's like no one signed up on eharmony from my area. So eharmony didn't care & said "No to any refund"! By the way MATCH is the same company don't give these fraudsters your money either! And to the women that say they won't date a Trump supporter GFYS!
I have tried a few dating sites and decided to try eharmony. At first it was not bad high priced but got 30-40 matches and I was interested in 15-20. Then after only one week they changed how you are matched up and it went down to 7-9 and 8 1/2 of them i was definitely not interested in and after 2 months it has not changed same matches and nothing new! Everybody is rite you will not receive any form of a discount or money back! Customer service, if you can call it that, just does not care as long as they got your money! I would not give it any star rating but had to give it one star for this review! Wished I would have paid more attention to the reviews before paying for there service.
Oh man is this service bad. I started by creating a free profile, checked the prices, decided to wait it out due to the high membership fees. I got violated with an egregious amount of emails. So, eventually they duped into buying a membership in saying I had people interested in me. Which was true, but oh man was it rough to communicate with people. It was like trying to throw dog turds into a soda bottle. You have to break them up into little pieces and hope that one tiny poop shard makes it into the bottle. A large number of my matches proclaim "I love Jesus" when I clearly indicated my non religious stance. Many matches also seemed to only be interested in either hiking, traveling or "going out". How does "going out" fall under hobbies. I will say this, if marriage is something you absolutely want immediately, many matches seem to be looking for this. Avoid this unless you enjoy sifting through dog feces on your free time.
Purchased the premium, see what it was like. Felt exactly like Tinder. I wanted to cancel within the three day grace period. Come to find out it's only applicable in about 4 states to receive a refund. $171 well wasted. With no help from the team you could easily feel that it's a MONEY SCAM. Just collecting every cent they can. Will never go back and will always recommend for people to stay clear of this terrible company.
After falling for the TV advertisement of a free to join deal, I logged on to see what this eharmony was all about. I can not express my disappointment with the service. A full amount of $166 was deducted from my account 7 days after which then made me fall outside the Cancellation Policy period. As soon as becoming aware of the deduction I requested a refund, along with deleting the app and logged out of the service. I was advised this was not possible as it was outside the 3 day cancellation period.
I would not recommend eHarmony to anyone... many other sites are free to join and easy to cancel.
Oh my, words don't even explain literally how bad of a site eHarmony really is! If you want to waste your money, have no chance of getting your money back and be underwhelmed, this is the perfect site for you. Most of my matches were like 200+ kilometres away and that defeats the purpose because I was looking to date and get married in my hometown. You can't even filter out the ones you don't like so instead, you have to scroll down through all the ones you passed on! Customer support is literally a joke. I emailed them after 20 minutes of signing up because I hated it so much. Customer support (online robot) then decided to deny my request for a refund for no good reason even though I was still within the 3 days. I even tried to phone not one, but two phone numbers and both were fake. I am warning you with all my heart not to fall for this shenanigan. You will be very unhappy and you will get NOTHING for your money but misery.
I am not a online dating freak but, I have signed in to a few free sites and thought that if I was serious about this, then i should join "the best" and pay for a productive result. After agreeing to the $300 (+) payment I have been constantly disappointed in the entire process. I wish I had never signed up. A total waste of my money.
I have been using eHarmony since May and at first I was in general satisfied with their service. The proposed matches were adequate, it provided a good readable overview of the interests and expectations of other users, one could filter the search according to country of residence and, very important, I didn't experience any technical problems. However, the platform was updated in October and it is now a complete disaster. Confusing criteria for the selected matches, many users with deleted user names, including me, no option to filter your search by country (except for five English speaking countries and Brazil...), not even the option to search by continent.
But the cherry on the cake is that now, when I am back in my home country Bulgaria for the holidays, my access to their site is denied, without any explanation. A Russian girl I was chatting with earlier reported to me that the same happened to her and she can only access her profile using a VPN tunnel. This is a complete shame, as we are denied service after we paid. I don't expect anything better than a generic answer response saying how sorry are they for my negative experience and the main reason to write this review is to warn other users, especially people from Eastern Europe.
It's all about matches that don't fit. Scammers' paradise with fake or fraudulent pictures and profiles. Worthless customer support. Most people don't even have profile photographs.
EHarmony do not provide quality people on the site. There are a lot of scammers on the site. I signed for one year, but at the beginning of the third month, I got frustrated with the scammers and fake profiles. I called to cancel my account. I asked eHarymon for a refund of the remaining nine months, but they refused to refund my money. Terrible. Stop!
They don't have anyone willing to spend $300 on their lousy dating site so there are no people to communicate with. Most gave up on eharmony want moved to free sites. Might have been a decent app long ago, but now it's just dead.
This is not a customer friendly dating site.
The customer service is awful and they expect you to be open to find matches in any state if nothing is available in your own. Their advice is to change your preferences and expand your search.
For 1 week 12 people are a match and no one else is interested because of the cost factor. They wanted my business so bad they took 60% off and charge me 153.00 for a year membership.
I suggest you not join, look elsewhere and don't be ripped off as I was believing in their commercials.
I joined a month ago. The initial matches were very few in number and didn't even have the qualities I asked for. Why did I spend all that time answering questions when the algorithm doesn't work. Then over a week goes by and I get no matches. Customer service says I should expand my 100 miles radius. Are you kidding? What a scam. Now I'm stuck paying for several months for no service. Stay away. I tried Match.com last year and it's decent. At least I was able to meet relatively quality people through there. I just wasn't ready for a long term serious relationship. That was a year ago and now that I am, it won't be eHarmony.
Customer service is crap- and the billing is ridiculous. I signed up for monthly billing and got charged a full year at once. Not ok. They refuse to fix it and I am putting every complaint in I can think of until it's fixed - a monthly charge is not the same a $446 out of your account at once! Eharmony sucks!
Answer: EHarmony is over rated and it's a lot of mumbo jumbo... If you're going to pay for a site match.com is set up much better and for a free site plenty of fish is really a nice site... BillyPrewitt.com
Answer: No. They won't refund you.
Answer: On your profile where you get asked questions like whats your fav movie and so on. Replace any answers you have already left with offensive language which in turn will violate their terms and conditions and they will have no option than to close your account. As for getting a refund good luck.
Answer: I called my credit card company because I cancelled within the three day grace period. Eharmony tried to say I had waited too long and therefore would be no refund. My credit card company disputed the charges, my account was credited and I was just notified that the dispute has been approved. No more eharmony charges. Hoe things work out for you.
Answer: You can't opt out. You are locked for the whole duration of your subscription even if u dont use it anymore they will charge ur visa regardless untill ur contract expires. I have to spend 11 more months to a site I cant use coz Im a transgender woman and no man in there wants me.
Answer: Well I have but I No longer on those sites anymore because they are scammers of course and I was on match truly.com and I deactivate my account off there as well but however sometimes I register on that website match truly.com even though I'm No longer a member on that website anymore because I still see the same lady Anna I'd Number is 60780729 and she's still online right now just like any other ladies you see on that site so I go on there just to waste their time and use abusive behavior against them to teach them a lesson and I don't pay money for that so that's why if you Noticed just pay close attention to the lady Anna on match truly.com and you will see her on wishdates.com and many other dating sites so I'm just tracking these websites down and you can see the ladies are Not real and can you tell me what Normal person would stay online 24 hours a day and seven days a week that's Not a Normal person that's a Networker and they like to make all kinds of excuses for themselves so don't listen to Nonsense about what they say because if you keep talking to these fake ladies they will Robb you out of your money so pretty much wasting your time because you are Not getting anywhere but a dead end and believe me I know what I'm talking about because I was on that website for two years and believe me they are phony and so is the customer support they are fake and they think they are very intelligent human beings and they think they can manipulate people so just watch yourself and be careful because I'm still seeing the same ladies on that website today from two years ago they are Not real and they are Not looking for anyone
