The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to perceived deceptive practices regarding refunds and subscription management. Many users express frustration over the lack of suitable matches and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of wasted time and money. Customers frequently highlight inadequate customer service, with limited access to support and automated responses exacerbating their concerns. While a few users mention positive experiences, the overwhelming sentiment suggests a need for improved transparency, better quality control of profiles, and a more responsive customer service approach.

I tried this site. There is something strange the profiles on this site. You have no idea how old the profile is, nor if the profile is active. I wrote 100's of messages and NEVER ever got one response... Hmmmm. Something's not right here. I had a 1 year subscription... Not 1 response? FYI... I am 5'9", 170 lbs, and NOT ugly at all. Although I am an older gentleman, in late 50's.
EHarmony will take your money but their customer service is non-existent! I have been trying for 2 weeks now to contact them and they simply do not reply to emails. There is no published phone number where you can call them, but even if there was, I highly doubt anyone would ever answer. Forget about cancelling your account... they will just keep on billing you! This is truly alarming. Scam artists!
I have used this service in the past and decided to give it another try. I honestly found it abysmal. There were very few people in my area using this service so you can imagine that would mean few choices. I contacted customer support to cancel the service and found them very unhelpful. I was not asking for a refund of what I had already spent, just to cancel my membership and the future charges. I found them argumentative and unhelpful. Basically if you want to give them a try be ready to stick it out for the long haul. Honestly, I would recommend match.com instead.
How can a website claiming to help you find your soulmate suggest a 2 year long membership? Is it a gym or Costco?
Obviously this site among many other websites do not care about you find your soulmate, they only care about keeping you around for good to keep generating money from your and others.
This site is full of misleading information and I am sure they themselves create thousands of fake accounts to make you believe that you are chatting with real people but in fact you are talking with a computer.
Safe your money and more importantly time. Life is shorter than being wasted behind your computer hoping for a soulmate that you will never find if you use this site.
They won't let you try a month or 3 but 6 ao I paid theae aholea $160 to look at 35 pages of the ugliest men I've ever seen. Most don't even have pictures. I thought joining a dating app where people pay for it you might find some decent people but not on here. I've been a member months and haven't met even 1 guy I would meet up with. I tell people to try Match because Eharmony is awful, they don't care I'm not meeting anyone and will happily take my $160 for doing nothing and matching me with the ugliest men in the World or dudes that look like pedophiles and live in their Moms basement. I cancelled it, flushed almost $200 down the toilet. Stay away from this site it has NOTHING to offer. And it sure isn't me.
Biggest rip off ever no members in age group within a 3 hour distance. They set you on auto renewal and suck you dry afterwards the customer service team are overseas idiots that speak no English and can care less if they charge you till you die. They care nothing about you meeting someone it's all about the cash to them. Don't do it biggest rip off online
Eharmony seems to do a credible job of keeping out phony profiles. Kudos on that score.
Many of the tips & advice they provide are helpful to those seeking to create a profile designed to get attention.
What eharmony will not reveal is that, after you decide to let your membership lapse, they will continue to post your profile. This has two main effects. It creates a false sense among those who are browsing profiles that 'that person' is really still out there. The 2nd impact is that this allows eharmony to continue to re-contact the member to encourage them to renew their membership.
When you list your ideal geography radius, you will still continue to see profiles from those who are outside that radius. I've concluded that this due to the fact that the individual whose profile you are now viewing is less selective about their desired geography radius.
Most people have absolutely no idea of what constitutes a good photo for profile purposes.
This company has conflicting terms and conditions and although the language they share with you while signing up says one thing, they language they send you at cancellation restricts your ability to cancel to 11 states. If you are not in one of these 11 states, they will refuse cancellation and you will be charged anywhere from 300-900 for a product that is extremely lacking. Within 1 day I knew this product was a waste of time and money, but they refuse to deactivate my account or remove my information. In addition, they sent new terms and conditions different from the ones I saved and sent back to them and are now refusing to respond. If you want to get your money back and your account deactivated, you must engage an attorney. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
%100 SCAM, %100 SCAM NEVER, NEVER,,,, USE e Harmony,,
I signed up, for one year f $120.49 and they said you signe for 4 years 4 payments total $481.96, why would someone signe 4 years in dating sight LOL unless, immditly I cancle my account but theere customer serive Jay B, Kenneth R, somewhere overseas on Tue, Jul 14 at 3:41 AM refuse to refund anything back
Just joined and they quoted my friend and I at $240 each but then charged us $530 each. We both tried cancelling within an hour. They cancelled hers but not mine. I see so many reviews describing the same thing so am pursuing legal action and want to see if there is a class action lawsuit against Eharmony that I can pursue
I joined eHarmony, first time, I thought I was signing up for 1 month, 50% off. When I got a email confirmation payment, I was shocked it was for 1 year. Within 20 mins, I tried to cancel the payment and contacted eHarmony, NO WAY, does not matter the reason, they will not refund! As per their terms and condition. I was out of their jurisdiction. Only certain states and within 3 days. Again, I was in shock with how they run their business and there is something that is not right. I have read many reviews on this company and it's the same. Their response to their customers, no refund as per their Terms and Conditions, they are not in the state or it has to be within 3 days. I did some searching on this company, they have had 2 law suites, one for their Terms and Conditions (now is what they use not to refund) and the other, prejudice against same sex partners. EHarmony was old to a German company in 1985 for $85 million. This is why you will receive responses in the middle of the night. This company is a scam and they need to be shut down. Maybe before it was sold it was a good dating site, not sure because I did not use it. If anyone has been scammed for money, you need to follow through to get your money back. They are not providing the service that they are advertising. You did a long questionnaire about yourself, you should not be messaged by scary people or scammers. You should be reimbursed because you are not happy, especially if there is an error. Their Terms and Conditions can be fought. They are not representing themselves to be an accredited business or the business advertised.
In a effort to entice new members to pay for the service, many, many potential matches are shown. EHarmony shows only matches from your state/province. Unfortunately I live in a large state, and there are so many people listed it's impossible to determine how many of them are within a 100 miles of my home. Put off by this and reticent to pay the membership fees, I closed my account. (That was far from easy because closing your account is buried in an obscure place on the website. I had to google it to find out how.) Even weeks after I closed the account I STILL get emails about potential matches and people "liking" me or messaging me. It's annoying for me, but it must be awful for the other members who are wasting their time messaging people who quit. It's all very deceptive and cult-like.
I tried this out and paid for more than I should have. They rejected my profile a couple of times til I changed it to what they wanted. I got pictures rejected because my K-9 was in them and then found pictures on many others that were against their policy so they are not being true to their policy. I also don't know how they are figuring the numbers they give you since half the people don't answer all the questions like it used to be, I paid for a year and they could have charged me for the month and returned the remainder and two letters to say no they are keeping the funds, then suggested I keep trying on their site. It's all a joke and scam for your money.
I signed up in Canada, I live in one province and most of the people it was sending me weren't in mine. When I asked for a refund that doesnt apply to Canadians, when I wanted to delete my profile and not pay any further I was told no. Buyer beware! Worst customer service ever. Just an absolutely horrid experience for a whopping 2 days.
I am a male and this review is directly targeted at men contemplating using www.eHarmony.com as an online dating service. When you first visit the site, without being a member, you answer a few questions and the site tells you how many potential matches you have. The faces of these women are blurred and that should have been my first clue but I proceeded. Trust me, the faces beyond those blurry photos should stay blurred. Interesting to note that the age demographics of these women are overwhelmingly well over 50. If that's what you want this site is full of ugly and tired looking old ladies. If you're looking for anyone even slightly good looking you're at the wrong address.
11 states have realized that eHarmony is a rip off and now allow you to cancel your membership within 3 days. I live in Nevada and eHarmony has proudly let me know cancellation is not possible for me. The fact that eleven states found it necessary to regulate eHarmony for deceptive business practices leads me to believe they are crooked at best and predatory at worst. The 11 states where a refund is mandated are Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island and Wisconsin.
What about the cost? When you first inquire about a membership the full price is over $400. If you do not sign up you will receive several emails with additional discounts. In my case I only paid 50% of the initial price after waiting just a few days. So, even if you don't believe me about the inventory of ugly women you're still going to save yourself $200 if you just wait. I find it interesting that even eHarmony thinks their service isn't good enough for full price, again that should've clued me in to how bad their service is. On top of all the other crappy parts of their service, there are a significant number of profiles with no picture. I would remind eHarmony that they are not in the business of setting up a blind dates so including so many women without a picture is completely antithetical to the entire online dating structure. I've only had the membership for a few days but I won't be using this service! I'll try to sue to get my money back not because I care about the $200 but because I can then approach the proper government officials to codify the refund so as not to rip off the consumer going forward. If this review was helpful I would appreciate if you could click on the helpful box.
DO NOT USE eHARMONY, YOU WILL BE SORRY!
It was a bit surprising that the free trial is not really a trial at all. No pictures or meaningful conversation until you pay for a minimum of 6 month subscription that they will charge in no more than 4 installments. The "monthly" price amount emphasized is very misleading. The matches are right in line with their customer service... horrible.
I knew within a week that I had been scammed. After multiple emails back and forth, mostly form letter responses from them, I am unable to delete my profile or get a refund. Thankfully I was able to block future charges from eharmony on my Paypal account.
I joined during COVID 19 and thought it would be great to chat with different men for friendship. Difficult to navigate the site and they match you. You cannot search men on your own. Buyer beware as you need to sign up for 6 or 12 months. This site I quickly realized was not for me as the men I did chat with were of no quality. I asked for a refund after 2 weeks and I was told no refunds. Poor poor dating site. Do not waste your money.
I have never felt more wronged by a company than when dealing with eHarmony. I first signed up for the paid experience on a 6-month $22.95 per month plan for a total of $137.70. Obviously if you were dealing with an ethical company you could assume that you were now signed up for a plan that cost 137.70 every six months. Well unfortunately eHarmony is anything but ethical. After the 6 months I was charged a fee of $550.80 with no warning of this price change! After immediately requesting a refund I was informed this is only possible in certain USA states and that I was $#*! out of luck. According to the eHarmony representatives I have spoken to, all plans when they automatically renew change price and length to a 1 year plan. This is not mentioned anywhere on the signup or payment page, I was helpfully informed that this should have been emailed to me after I paid (It never was). I regret ever dealing with eHarmony and seriously hope other people can avoid my mistakes.
Very insulting options they have... if you send a smile or a message to somebody you may find this be followed by the answer "Good buy " that sounds rude and disrespectful. Very low-quality matches, Why did I sign? It was a trap... I only put my pictures and set my profile when in couple of seconds there came a smile, and a message from a handsome gentleman, a doctor by profession... I thought ok, they must have quality people here... in the next minutes after I paid that gentleman already quit on me by sending a Good Buy, which means I do not want you anymore in my contacts and you can not reach me any more. Already a month, not a single like or message I received back or any conversation continued. SOS! LISTEN, DO NOT SIGN YOU WILL BE SOOOOOO DISSAPOINTED! I believed others but that trap worked... They must return the money back as they do not provide what they advertise,
After signing as a member to EHarmony, I was 3 1/2 days within cancellation deadline and I asked to cancel. They give you three days, i was 1/2 of a day late. They basically said they would not let me out of the contract of 6 months at $90.00 a month even though i shared with them that I did not like their sight. I did not like the very few profiles they recommended as a match for me. Only a few gentleman emailed me which i really was not used too. Please do not sign the contract for a full membership there are much more cheaper sites that have a better selection of someone to date. It is a big waste of money. When i looked at the reviews it had great ratings, now i wonder if they are real because the site is very limited.
Answer: EHarmony is over rated and it's a lot of mumbo jumbo... If you're going to pay for a site match.com is set up much better and for a free site plenty of fish is really a nice site... BillyPrewitt.com
Answer: No. They won't refund you.
Answer: On your profile where you get asked questions like whats your fav movie and so on. Replace any answers you have already left with offensive language which in turn will violate their terms and conditions and they will have no option than to close your account. As for getting a refund good luck.
Answer: I called my credit card company because I cancelled within the three day grace period. Eharmony tried to say I had waited too long and therefore would be no refund. My credit card company disputed the charges, my account was credited and I was just notified that the dispute has been approved. No more eharmony charges. Hoe things work out for you.
Answer: You can't opt out. You are locked for the whole duration of your subscription even if u dont use it anymore they will charge ur visa regardless untill ur contract expires. I have to spend 11 more months to a site I cant use coz Im a transgender woman and no man in there wants me.
Answer: Well I have but I No longer on those sites anymore because they are scammers of course and I was on match truly.com and I deactivate my account off there as well but however sometimes I register on that website match truly.com even though I'm No longer a member on that website anymore because I still see the same lady Anna I'd Number is 60780729 and she's still online right now just like any other ladies you see on that site so I go on there just to waste their time and use abusive behavior against them to teach them a lesson and I don't pay money for that so that's why if you Noticed just pay close attention to the lady Anna on match truly.com and you will see her on wishdates.com and many other dating sites so I'm just tracking these websites down and you can see the ladies are Not real and can you tell me what Normal person would stay online 24 hours a day and seven days a week that's Not a Normal person that's a Networker and they like to make all kinds of excuses for themselves so don't listen to Nonsense about what they say because if you keep talking to these fake ladies they will Robb you out of your money so pretty much wasting your time because you are Not getting anywhere but a dead end and believe me I know what I'm talking about because I was on that website for two years and believe me they are phony and so is the customer support they are fake and they think they are very intelligent human beings and they think they can manipulate people so just watch yourself and be careful because I'm still seeing the same ladies on that website today from two years ago they are Not real and they are Not looking for anyone
