The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to perceived deceptive practices regarding refunds and subscription management. Many users express frustration over the lack of suitable matches and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of wasted time and money. Customers frequently highlight inadequate customer service, with limited access to support and automated responses exacerbating their concerns. While a few users mention positive experiences, the overwhelming sentiment suggests a need for improved transparency, better quality control of profiles, and a more responsive customer service approach.

It's about time the whistle gets blown on this dating site that is held in high esteem by so many - according to its advertising, that is. Across the Web, eHarmony is lucky if its reviews reflect anything higher than one star out of five on most review sites.
Yes, their advertising is convincing. But the proof is in the pudding and this dating site does not even live up to any of its competition.
As an online dating site, eHarmony turns members who have a free limited membership into paying premium members by promoting the idea that, as a paid member, the pictures of other members would be visible. During the free membership, I experienced viewing "blurred" pictures of numerous members. These members all had pictures and paying the premium would result in viewing the images (photos) of these members with clarity, according to eHarmony promotions.
Eharmony supposedly prides itself in providing compatible matches via their parameters.
Since becoming a paid premium member, the majority of "matching" profiles that eHarmony has suggested have had NO photos whatsoever (image shown reflects what can be expected with a Premium membership). This never occurred while assuming unpaid status. There was no disclosure that such behavior would occur. In addition, a number of photos that actually appeared were those of deleted profiles.
Upon expressing dissatisfaction with this behavior, eHarmony has not offered a remedy or correction in any form.
I have also contacted eHarmony numerous times regard the dysfunctionality of their website and app. Both have malfunctioned in ways that I expressed to eHarmony. Responses (when received, though not usually) have included "scripted" how-to information without ever admitting any fault of theirs or the website. NO FIXES.
After numerous requests for correction were not properly acknowledged, I stated that a refund was wanted. Given a refund and having my subscription stopped would result in my not contacting them again.
They have refused a refund, claiming that their 3-day refund policy was state specific. Given the nature of dysfunctionality and their providing suggested matches that are anonymous and without profile images, it appears that eHarmony is reserving the right to provide faulty service for a fee along with website and app dysfunctionality with the confidence that responsibility for such negligence is not something they need to answer to.
EHarmony evidently reserves the right to pull the wool over people's eyes and even avoids having to honor their 3-day right to cancel in certain states regardless of the company's negligence.
"Every 14 minutes, someone gets cheated at eHarmony" would serve as a more fitting slogan.
EHarmony enrolled me and charged me without my consent and without a reminder $500 for an auto renewal. They tried to take money from my PayPal account and when unsuccessful proceeded to my Wells Fargo account which wasn't even my original form of payment. Very questionable and disgraceful business practice from a company that prides itself from being of Christian values. I do not believe it's fair that I should be obligated to be contracted with them for another whole year for 5 times the price I paid for my 6 month subscription. I do not agree to pay for this and after doing some research I come to find out that they were sued by the state of California and were actually forced to settle for conducting the same questionable practice.
The automatic renewal is automatically for 12 months no matter what length you originally signed up for. In addition nearly 40% of the profiles do not have pictures. If you really want results use match.com
Eharmony overcharges compared to other online dating site at $68 a month for their six month plan and if you sign up for a subscription plan and want to cancel your subscription, you can't and they will still charge you each month. Plus, you have to make sure you opt out of auto renew or you are stuck in another contract longer. Any subscription, you should have the option to opt out without continuing to be charged and the customer service said I could delete my profile if I did not want to be on but would be charged until the end of my subscription.
They have extremely dishonest approach to business, to say the least. They make money through fraud: they put you on recurring payments. My recommendation is: stay well clear of these fraudsters and thieves! So don't let Eharmony and other swindlers separate you from your cash - that's the only thing they want to do!
I included part of my Eharmony receipt. I decided to sign up for this site instead of Elite Single because of their Religion Denomination functionality. It turned out, the website contains misleading information. The actual product doesn't have the functionality. They said it is no longer available. My advice, please contact their customer care for any product functionalities they have promised. The credit card company took a side with them so yes, don't think you can dispute your money. They are not accountable to deliver what their website promise about the product.
Stay away from eharmony! They steal your money and scam You into believing you committed to a membership. Do not go thru PayPal thinking they will protect you either. Do not sign up for any "free trials or deals". They are arrogant and confidently refuse refunds. They know they are getting away with scamming and stealing money from so many people.
This place is a joke! Site moves along like a glacier, freezes up, you have to pay to message or even see the lady your interested in because for some strange reason their profile photos are blurred out! Customer support? You get ahold of them I'll put a unicorn in your front yard! This is all you get after filling out a questionnaire that's more like a college thesis. No, if I want to date blurry looking women I don't even know, ill go back to the bar scene, had better luck and a better time that way anyhow. You've been warned.
Overpriced, poor performance! Wasted $418.95! I have tried a few dating apps and liked match.com and OkCupid, but eHarmony is awful. Their algorithm (if they even have one) doesn't pay any attention to who you are seeking, just throws poor matches at you. But you can be absolutely assured that their billing department will be all over you to pay as agreed! No possibility of a credit! Do Not Use eHarmony!
It's a complete fraud aimed at wiping out bank accounts of naive men who believe in fairy-tales. I had been one of these men until I spotted the ploy and cancelled. Although I had to jump through rings of fire to cancel it ( they make it difficult) I'm glad I did it. I just wish I hadn't wasted so much time and emotions on Eharmony's bots and scammers!
How can I explain any more than this. It isn't all that. The site asks you about 50 questions and then matches you up to people that aren't even close to what your looking for. I tried to cancel a subscription within 12 hours and they refused and are ordering me to pay for the other 3 months. I reported it to the BBB and they still didn't budge. Funny the BBB gives them an A+ rating, but then you look through all the complaints and wonder why. Obviously Eharmony is paying for the good review because BBB aren't looking at the MULTITUDES of complainers. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I told them to erase my profile and they still have it trying to bill me.
I clicked on the three month subscription but got charged and enrolled into a six month agreement. I can verify that their customer service is not existence and I'm pretty sure they will not refund my money. How they still exists is beyond me. They ARE NOT a legitimate business. STAY AWAY. Luckily I used PayPal and was able to immediately stop any further payments to these bastards
No dates which goes against their promise. Asked for money back of course they dont even respond - horrible horrible experience DO NOT RECOMMEND
I signed up for the free trial. Took a lot of my time for the stupid questions... to wind up only allowed to see BLURRY photos! Insane waste of time.
They stole my money - 65 quid. I send them 3 emails explaining them that during the pandemic I don't have a money and that they can't just charge me 65 quid for using subscription for exactly 24 hours. It's a scam.
Joined the site my matches were only in Tennessee. All of my matches looked like my grandfather. Tried to call for customer support to cancel. The phones do not work. No one answers. The questionnaire was ridiculous Try finding love with those questions, what a joke. Sent in my photo it came back saying it was not real, but guess what it is real! I I take care of myself and am not 150 pounds overweight. Do not use this site it is a joke!
I actually had my fun WDW Marathon picture where I was standing with Disney Characters rejected because "other people were in the picture so it was hard to figure out who I was." Like seriously? You can't distinguish a woman from Disney characters? What is eHarmony staff made of? Sexist staff. Well, then, all these men have questionable profiles with blurred pictures where you can't see their faces and even pictures of just scenery.
The first time I said the perfect date was one where a man didn't want sex the first date. No screening necessary. Well, last night, I found out they changed their screening process to needing approval for the word sex.
It is upsetting to men.
Sexism runs rampant just like sexual abuse.
I thought I would give it a try. Rip Off. Same pics different profiles. Can't log in. Tried everything. They took my money from the bank but will not answer any of the communications I have sent them.
Rip Off stay away!
I wish I had read the reviews before I bought a year subscription for $314. One of the biggest mistakes I ever made. Because once you sign up you can't take it back. I thought that when I chose to pay $78.56 per 3 months that I could cancel and only be charged for the periods that I was using their service. I was dead wrong. You're charged the full amount no matter what. I hate being locked into something with no way out, they make you feel trapped. Then also I wanted to share a beautiful picture of downtown Detroit with the sunrise in the background and I was on a rooftop working on refrigeration equipment. Since there were no people in the picture I couldn't share it and I was really only interested in sharing it with a female I was talking to. I paid over $300 and couldn't even share a harmless picture. And why am I paying over $300? From my experience they have no customer service. Total waste of time and money
Answer: EHarmony is over rated and it's a lot of mumbo jumbo... If you're going to pay for a site match.com is set up much better and for a free site plenty of fish is really a nice site... BillyPrewitt.com
Answer: No. They won't refund you.
Answer: On your profile where you get asked questions like whats your fav movie and so on. Replace any answers you have already left with offensive language which in turn will violate their terms and conditions and they will have no option than to close your account. As for getting a refund good luck.
Answer: I called my credit card company because I cancelled within the three day grace period. Eharmony tried to say I had waited too long and therefore would be no refund. My credit card company disputed the charges, my account was credited and I was just notified that the dispute has been approved. No more eharmony charges. Hoe things work out for you.
Answer: You can't opt out. You are locked for the whole duration of your subscription even if u dont use it anymore they will charge ur visa regardless untill ur contract expires. I have to spend 11 more months to a site I cant use coz Im a transgender woman and no man in there wants me.
Answer: Well I have but I No longer on those sites anymore because they are scammers of course and I was on match truly.com and I deactivate my account off there as well but however sometimes I register on that website match truly.com even though I'm No longer a member on that website anymore because I still see the same lady Anna I'd Number is 60780729 and she's still online right now just like any other ladies you see on that site so I go on there just to waste their time and use abusive behavior against them to teach them a lesson and I don't pay money for that so that's why if you Noticed just pay close attention to the lady Anna on match truly.com and you will see her on wishdates.com and many other dating sites so I'm just tracking these websites down and you can see the ladies are Not real and can you tell me what Normal person would stay online 24 hours a day and seven days a week that's Not a Normal person that's a Networker and they like to make all kinds of excuses for themselves so don't listen to Nonsense about what they say because if you keep talking to these fake ladies they will Robb you out of your money so pretty much wasting your time because you are Not getting anywhere but a dead end and believe me I know what I'm talking about because I was on that website for two years and believe me they are phony and so is the customer support they are fake and they think they are very intelligent human beings and they think they can manipulate people so just watch yourself and be careful because I'm still seeing the same ladies on that website today from two years ago they are Not real and they are Not looking for anyone
