The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to perceived deceptive practices regarding refunds and subscription management. Many users express frustration over the lack of suitable matches and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of wasted time and money. Customers frequently highlight inadequate customer service, with limited access to support and automated responses exacerbating their concerns. While a few users mention positive experiences, the overwhelming sentiment suggests a need for improved transparency, better quality control of profiles, and a more responsive customer service approach.

Easy enough to sign up but then nothing. I had 7 inquiries in a year! Even the ugly guys didn't contact me. I tried to contact eHarmony several times to see what I was doing wrong - assuming "operator error", not them. But crickets. Nada. Zilch. No customer service at all and now they are threatening me about signing up again. Don't do it.
I did sign for 6 months membership, they match you with matches that doesn't match you at all, you don't have any freedom to find your own match, you can't cancel, after 3 months I don't have any matches still, very disappointed!
They charged me $430 because of auto pay. I signed up a year ago for $172. I was going to cancel because it was pretty worthless. But I was moving and I forgot to cancel. So they charged me $430 for the next 12 months. Five days later I contacted e Harmony and wanted my money back. They said no way
Tough luck For me. I pushed hard on them to no effect.
This is a dishonest business. Do not use eHarmony.
Tom
I was on eharmony for 6 days, on the 4th day I decided to pay 7 pounds somthing for premium when you pay thay give you 14 days to cancel your prescription! As soon as I payed my choices of matches dropped to 15 women and most didn't have pictures! So I cancelled my prescription. Now eharmony are emailing me telling me I owe them 65.00 pounds for what! Stay away from eharmony people!
Had an email from them to say I owe them £250 they sent an email out in October they said stating they sent another letter to get payment, that dont exist I checked my Junk still nothing, tried to call their team in London Nothing. Call their team in america Line does not exist. They have no responded to my email and they're not getting a penny from me. And then they threaten if it's not paid before christmas they will take matters further. These people arent a loan company! Therefore they do not have this authority! Please do not give them no money of yours their customer service is diar!
I cancelled my membership October 22,2020 and was charged $89.85 November 16t, 2020. When I called to complain... I was then told that my account had been hacked (it hadn't) and was advised to pay $499.99 to "fix" the trouble. My bank assured me that Eharmony got the money. No one else. So, don't fall for this very bad company.
I followed a link to eharmony from a site that said they had a "three day free trial." Researching elsewhere online I read that their fees are prorated, meaning if I cancelled early I would not be charged for whole subscription. After trying the service for two days, I decided it wasn't going to prove useful and emailed asking to cancel and receive a refund. Eharmony responded saying the offer wasn't valid in my state (Oregon), and offering to transfer my subscription to a relative or friend. I sent a second email detailing my experience and asking them to make an exception to their policy. They refused, blaming me for not reading the fine print of their policy. They let me know that even after deleting my account at my request three days after signing up that they planned to charge me for six months, and have already charged me $131.
For two weeks, I ignored the sites requests to join. Then they sent a 3 day trial period. I gave in and did the trial. I believe Eharmony has fake accounts reeling you in to sign up. Once the trial is over - and you sign up, those accounts send a "where not a match " notice and literally disappear. It's a good way of getting people to join right? Get them interested in chatting with someone - then give them the ultimatum of purchasing to continue the conversation. Just be careful with this site especially if they offer you the free 3 day trial! I can guarantee you- you will strike a conversation with a nice profile —-until you sign up. Then that profile will go away. GOTCHA
I joined. In a matter of 5 minutes knew it was a waste of money. Sent customer service a request for a refund... they refuse to refund and cancel my subscription. Literally 5 mminutes I asked... Customer service and site are both horrible! Buyer beware
EHarmony falls short on all it was hyped up to be. The price is high and the matches are poor. Not to mention the personality profile is based on choosing shapes-not leading to a reliable personality assessment. The majority of members are not even active and there is little to no interaction except with eHarmony's automated email system. I am so disappointed. When I called customer service to express this, I was told there was nothing they could do I still had to have (and pay) for the membership for a year, then when I asked for a supervisor, I was told no one was available and the customer service agent hung up on me.
Intended to purchase first month at 50% discount and thought this would mean I didn't have to continue if unsatisfied. As it turns out, they roped me into paying for the full year. I used the service for THREE WEEKS and asked to be released from the contract. They would not let me out, and now I am stuck paying $220.00 for an entire year. Three bloody weeks! Talk about ridiculous. They should have policies in place that allow customers to cancel if unsatisfied, especially since their sell job is misleading. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DATING SITE!
This on-line dating site is a horrific scam. They charge over $41 per month. They refuse to provide a refund even when they DO NOT match you with anyone. They also do not follow your profile requests. It is sincerely the biggest "on-line" dating scam. In 6 months, I received ONLY one person they matched me with and he was a man with serious emotional problems.
It is sooo crafty
The game is rigged so that you won't find your perfect mate nearby or anytime soon... thereby ensuring you keep paying for months
Your perfect mate will be found far outside your geographic search or you will find a not so prefect match nearby, its derived from the in depth search criteria form they ask you to fill.
I signed up for this site after I read online that we were able to cancel subscription and get refund within 14 days. After signing up for 12 months ( I thought i could cancel if I don't like it) I found the people onsite not interesting at all after just a day and decided to cancel. I emailed the company ( there is no phone) and received a reply that I could not cancel and I would be charged for the full year anyway. How could this be possible? How do you want people to trust you? Ok you may have screwed me and you think you are smart by doing this but you will fail at the end when everyone knows that you are a SCAM. I just can't believe that this happened to me. I thought the guy that shows on the TV ad is a respectful man... making money by scamming people is wrong and you will end up losing all customers... I will make sure to write reviews everywhere..
There is nothing trustworthy about eharmony, it is very difficult to cancel your subscription, I finally emailed them to cancel my subscription within the 14 days and they took a huge amount of money from my bank account and called it compensation, they are a dirty buisness, steer clear
I was misled into believing I could try this service and cancel in 3 days with a full refund. Exceptions are buried in their terms and conditions. I paid $446.00 for what amounted to the worst matches I had after using Bumble, Match, POF, Our Time, and Zoosk - and many of those were free. I think the best was Match (ironically a sister company, but MUCH more affordable and less deceptive). Ultimately, I found my match on POF, but I think a lot of it is luck - that two people who are right for each other happen to be looking in the same place at the same time. The best you can do is just get out there, educate yourself on con artist techniques to beware of - and don't get suckered into paying an arm and a leg for services like eHarmony!
I had a free account with them and suddenly I was charged for a whole year through PayPal. I contacted eHarmoney and Paypal immediately when I got the email and tried to resolve it. EHarmony just said they don't refund. Paypal said its out of their hands. If I could advise people, dont even open a free acount, you could be out of a lot of money.
I know people sign up on paid dating sites because they think it will be a better quality of men But on the contrary that is false. The quality of men on e harmony are the ones that can't get dates on the free ones. You can't see anyone on the site unless you signup for at least 6 months at $44.99/month with is robbery for what it is. I feel like I got scammed as soon as I signed up and saw what was on this site. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
IF YOU DO NOT REMEMBER TO CANCEL AFTER 6 MONTHS THEY CHARGE YOU 600$ FOR ANOTHER YEAR! NO NOTICE IS GIVEN! NO REFUND WAS GIVEN. NO HELP FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT USE THIS SITE!
Male in 20s seeking female. Purchased the yearly plan with monthly payments. There were roughly 30 matches within a 100km radius of my home (live an hour from Toronto so fairly close to the city). A significant portion do not have photos (which I thought was mandatory for paid subscribers). Have had the account for a month with one or two new people added to my matches.
Very shady experience contacting customer service in my opinion. After an hour using the service and discovering that many of the profiles do not have photos, I had contacted customer service via online chat to cancel my subscription going forward. I was told that it was not possible (a HOUR after signing up). The next day I contacted head office by phone to explain my situation. Spoke with several employees/managers, getting bounced around by each for over an hour with the same determination that the subscription could not be cancelled. Only certain states have a three day grace period while other locations do not. I explained how there were only 30 matches within a 100km radius and was told that I would travel that distance for love.
Overall, based on my experience I would highly recommend you consider another more reputable dating site. The marketing sold me but the actual experience was very poor. I am now on the hook for another $200+.
Answer: EHarmony is over rated and it's a lot of mumbo jumbo... If you're going to pay for a site match.com is set up much better and for a free site plenty of fish is really a nice site... BillyPrewitt.com
Answer: No. They won't refund you.
Answer: On your profile where you get asked questions like whats your fav movie and so on. Replace any answers you have already left with offensive language which in turn will violate their terms and conditions and they will have no option than to close your account. As for getting a refund good luck.
Answer: I called my credit card company because I cancelled within the three day grace period. Eharmony tried to say I had waited too long and therefore would be no refund. My credit card company disputed the charges, my account was credited and I was just notified that the dispute has been approved. No more eharmony charges. Hoe things work out for you.
Answer: You can't opt out. You are locked for the whole duration of your subscription even if u dont use it anymore they will charge ur visa regardless untill ur contract expires. I have to spend 11 more months to a site I cant use coz Im a transgender woman and no man in there wants me.
Answer: Well I have but I No longer on those sites anymore because they are scammers of course and I was on match truly.com and I deactivate my account off there as well but however sometimes I register on that website match truly.com even though I'm No longer a member on that website anymore because I still see the same lady Anna I'd Number is 60780729 and she's still online right now just like any other ladies you see on that site so I go on there just to waste their time and use abusive behavior against them to teach them a lesson and I don't pay money for that so that's why if you Noticed just pay close attention to the lady Anna on match truly.com and you will see her on wishdates.com and many other dating sites so I'm just tracking these websites down and you can see the ladies are Not real and can you tell me what Normal person would stay online 24 hours a day and seven days a week that's Not a Normal person that's a Networker and they like to make all kinds of excuses for themselves so don't listen to Nonsense about what they say because if you keep talking to these fake ladies they will Robb you out of your money so pretty much wasting your time because you are Not getting anywhere but a dead end and believe me I know what I'm talking about because I was on that website for two years and believe me they are phony and so is the customer support they are fake and they think they are very intelligent human beings and they think they can manipulate people so just watch yourself and be careful because I'm still seeing the same ladies on that website today from two years ago they are Not real and they are Not looking for anyone
