The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to perceived deceptive practices regarding refunds and subscription management. Many users express frustration over the lack of suitable matches and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of wasted time and money. Customers frequently highlight inadequate customer service, with limited access to support and automated responses exacerbating their concerns. While a few users mention positive experiences, the overwhelming sentiment suggests a need for improved transparency, better quality control of profiles, and a more responsive customer service approach.

Waste of money, you have to answer bunch of questions then they match you with someone 300 miles away.
I would avoid this site completely, don't even bother checking it out. Take my word for it. I paid for a six-month subscription and had two dates with the same person (it wasn't successful). No good candidates have appeared in three months. There was one possible (attractive) candidate but she let the conversation lag, was boring online, and didn't respond to the offer of a date. I let off our correspondence (ie. "removed match").
I believe the questionnaire with dozens of questions (based on research by psychologists supposedly) is hogwash. It doesn't matter! You can only find out whether you're a true match through conversation and in-person meetings. (On rare occasions women will write something telling on their pages - thank you...). I go on daily and make slight changes in my search queries. I usually have ten choices and they are generally physically unattractive to me, their profiles are boring, and the majority seem to be 35 years old and up. It is a "done with marriage, have kids, looking for a middle-aged soulmate" kind of category. No thanks.
So to conclude, one has to begin by answering maybe 70 questions (many that seem to have no rational reasoning to my mind), one has a choice of long or superlong subscription windows (6 month minimum, lots of $ paid in the end), and a very small pool of choices.
If I can give it a 1/2 star I would. I recently purchased a plan and asked to cancel with refund. They refuse to provide a refund because I purchased the plan in installments. The preview of potentials is nothing like what they show you once you purchase a plan. I had a lot of shilouette profiles. This company will hoodwink and bamboozle you. DO NOT JOIN
I subscribed to this dating service over a year ago thinking their "compatibility matches" may be helpful in the world of online dating that is infiltrated with fakes, fraud and lies. I spent hours answering all their questions thinking it was a good investment of time. Wrong!. Over the course of over a year I wasn't "matched" to anyone that was remotely what I was looking for (not even close), so I stopped logging onto the site altogether months ago as it was a total waste of time (and money).
Then a few months ago I started receiving email notices of "missed payments" from eHarmony, and when I investigated found it was eHarmony stating my renewal payment had failed, and I now owed them $550.80 for payment in advance for another calendar year all the way until January 2022. Twice the original annual fee I paid to start my membership. I told them I wasn't interested, and asked for them just to cancel my membership and they refused. The said since the "automatic renewal" which THEY maliciously set to auto renewal had already passed, that I would have to pay the total balance due (for services not yet rendered), and that I could cancel in 2022 if I still wanted to! The auto renewal tripped because I simply stopped visiting their site, and they of course never sent any reminders alerting the consumer of an impending charge, and to cancel the membership if you didn't want to incur the renewal charge. Jay B. Eharmony Customer Care representative advised me that their decision was FINAL, and that I must pay; for what I didn't want, for what did not work, and they refused to reconsider.
Avoid these thieves like Covid 19, as the results will likely end up to be similar.
Eharmony first off charges ridiculous high rates and when I signed up- it was a 4 month agreement but then I realized I was being scammed so I went to cancel my subscription and they had me apparently signed up for a year! On top of that, you can't get in touch with any service rep- all their phone numbers are disconnected! Not even emails! It's a hoax. There maybe 1 or 2 real people but a majority is outside search criteria which is not what I paid for. They don't filter members well.
I signed up for eharmony because it was supposed to be better than the rest, they have a proven "scientific" method of matching people. Well, the matches they "found" for me had very little in common with me. Most of the profiles on the site are basic, meaning they did not pay for a membership and you cannot communicate with them. There is no difference between eharmony and other sites except eharmony is much more expensive. You have to buy a 6 month membership iof you want to communicate with anyone. And, liek all the other sites out there, you will get tons of "matches" that really don't match. You will also get messages from people from other countries when you set your parameters for local matches. It's not worth the time or money to join eharmony.
Garbage app, huge cost to join, terrible $$ plans, takes so long to answer the questions to start that they hope you become premium for a discount of $65/ every month with a 6 month membership and no guarantees. Questions to get started even ask "everyone chooses that choice because it makes sense, are you sure you thought about it?"
I have not liked eharmony AT ALL. I'm really disappointed in the site. You only get maybe 2 or 3 matches they choose at a time. Once in a while more, but you cannot go on and scroll through looking at different profiles yourself. The matches they send are sent because of our personality scores match but come on... they are men (looks wise), I would NEVER date. Way over weight, look like bums and don't seem to have a lot going for them. I mean chemistry HAS to matter to even want to meet someone right? Not here. I would never sign up to use this sight again. Don't waste your money... I promise, you'll be disappointed. Their website makes it sound like it's the greatest site to meet someone who is serious about finding their soulmate, but it's not at all like they make it sound. SAVE YOUR MONEY, sorry to disappoint but not worth it
When choosing the plan I opted for the cheapest plan. I signed up for 12 months with four payments. One would think if you are making four payments they would be quarterly since the total contract is for 12 months. No, that is not the case, customers payments are deducted in the first four consecutive months on the plan. I was fortunate to have found a person within the first several weeks. If this becomes a lifetime relationship it will most likely be before the year is up! Customer Service said the client is still obligated to pay the full amount. Fleecing customers is their business. I wanted to warn others before making a payment plan decision. Best of luck!
I have so much to say about my experience that I'm unable to gather my thoughts together.
This dating site is a huge scam, pls do not sign up. First they tell you you can cancel at anytime, that's a huge lie. I wanted to cancel my subscription a day after I signed up and I was told I wouldn't get a refund, so even if I was to cancel I will get billed on my credit for a year which doesn't make sense. Customer service is terrible (don't even get me started). The people you match highly with don't respond to msg, when you're not a paid user you keep getting likes, the moment you sign up the likes stop coming. Not enough matches in my area. I've been there for months and not one match, I barely even go on it but I can't cancel cos I'm still getting charged till the subscription expires.
It's a lot to complain about, could go on and on just don't do it, save your money and time.
Before using eharmony I tried many other dating sites. Eharmony promises to be so much better so I decided to finally spend money on one. Big mistake. You can "try" it out for free but can't see any pictures so I decided to pay. First of all there is no month to month option, it's either 3,6 or 12 month subscription. If you aren't satisfied too bad, they charge you anyway. When I complained to customer service about half of my matches having incomplete profiles with no pictures they basically said looks don't matter and I should try harder. I'm sorry that I would like to be attracted to my husband on some level. While I think personality is a huge part of attraction it isn't everything. This app definitely feels like a scam, they're just trying to get your money and I really question their success rate because I've had better luck meeting guys on every other site. Sure I haven't married any of them but I at least found guys I was interested in. After a month of this app I have nothing to show for it. I'll keep trying because I was forced to pay to even try it but would never recommend it to anyone.
EHarmony tried to charge me without my consent and without a reminder for $500 for an auto renewal. I asked to cancel my subscription to customer service for about the month. They waited after the renewal to answer and are now asking for $500 in order to log out my account and cancel my service. I have never seen that. Customer service has been terrible at handling and just claimed the auto renewal applied. Pretty crazy. Avoid at any cost!
I used my trial period of 14 days to try this service. After 7 days I cancelled my subscription online. After one month I have been asked to pay for the whole year. It came out that my subscription was annual, not monthly! It was not specified online what type of subscription I had. Wow, good catch! Great way to get money out of people for useless service.
One week was enough for me to understand that I wont find the right person on this website. Most of the people were desperate using the website for ages without the result. Shows that the service is useless. Honestly, trying to match people based on their similarities is pointless. TBH i found the person I was looking for on the free website and we hardly have anything in common except the most important values and few other things. Please dont waste your time and money on services like this one. This one is made to suck money out of you not to help you! You have more chances to meet someone in real life than using eharmony!
And good luck with looking that special one!
I have tried cancelling 2 times with E-harmony.ca. They refuse to give me a full refund. They responded the first time with ridiculous consumer suggestions like transferring my membership to a FAMILY MEMBER!. I want a refund... The telephone number is constantly busy and hangs up. I WANT a full refund... Why on earth am I getting US American profiles with the border closed with Canada? What does your stupid company not understand.?
I don't usually write bad reviews but I would not recommend this dating site! It really deserves NO STARS! There are few viable matches! Matches deleted often, leaving fewer choices. Few valid participants! Does not live up to its boasts! No refunds... period! STAY AWAY!
A lot of fake profiles, really horrible matchmaking - I do not recommend this site. There are a lot of simple and cheaper dating sites, like flirt.com
I finally took the plunge and went thru the arduous questionnaire process and took a chance of paying more expecting more. It was a HUGE disappointment. They apparently do not require photos because probably 40%-50% of matches did not have even one photo. Basically completely blind dating. Additionally, despite trying to modify preferences, I was matched with people WELL beyond my geographic location. It does not help to be matched hours out of state! The customer service phone number is inaccessible and they continue to bill heftily. Trapped.
I received matches not matching up to my profile. Yet, their average says 99.8. I don't smoke, send me persons who smoke, I not too keen on dogs, send me dog lovers. Price says 60% off. When I put my credit card in, says regular price of 42.00. They don't have a phone number to talk to live person. The place does not do what it says. Therefore, I deleted me out.
Every contact they say is a match which is say <50km away, is usually 100's of miles away, so absolutely rubbish, no help at all. Challenge their customer service, no satisfactory response
Read there cancellation policy thru very well, was on for 4 days and they still wanted to charge me $400.00 for the service
Answer: EHarmony is over rated and it's a lot of mumbo jumbo... If you're going to pay for a site match.com is set up much better and for a free site plenty of fish is really a nice site... BillyPrewitt.com
Answer: No. They won't refund you.
Answer: On your profile where you get asked questions like whats your fav movie and so on. Replace any answers you have already left with offensive language which in turn will violate their terms and conditions and they will have no option than to close your account. As for getting a refund good luck.
Answer: I called my credit card company because I cancelled within the three day grace period. Eharmony tried to say I had waited too long and therefore would be no refund. My credit card company disputed the charges, my account was credited and I was just notified that the dispute has been approved. No more eharmony charges. Hoe things work out for you.
Answer: You can't opt out. You are locked for the whole duration of your subscription even if u dont use it anymore they will charge ur visa regardless untill ur contract expires. I have to spend 11 more months to a site I cant use coz Im a transgender woman and no man in there wants me.
Answer: Well I have but I No longer on those sites anymore because they are scammers of course and I was on match truly.com and I deactivate my account off there as well but however sometimes I register on that website match truly.com even though I'm No longer a member on that website anymore because I still see the same lady Anna I'd Number is 60780729 and she's still online right now just like any other ladies you see on that site so I go on there just to waste their time and use abusive behavior against them to teach them a lesson and I don't pay money for that so that's why if you Noticed just pay close attention to the lady Anna on match truly.com and you will see her on wishdates.com and many other dating sites so I'm just tracking these websites down and you can see the ladies are Not real and can you tell me what Normal person would stay online 24 hours a day and seven days a week that's Not a Normal person that's a Networker and they like to make all kinds of excuses for themselves so don't listen to Nonsense about what they say because if you keep talking to these fake ladies they will Robb you out of your money so pretty much wasting your time because you are Not getting anywhere but a dead end and believe me I know what I'm talking about because I was on that website for two years and believe me they are phony and so is the customer support they are fake and they think they are very intelligent human beings and they think they can manipulate people so just watch yourself and be careful because I'm still seeing the same ladies on that website today from two years ago they are Not real and they are Not looking for anyone
