Waste of money

Eharmony is a terrible platform. There were no matches within a 4 hour driving distance of me and when I tried to cancel they refused to give me a refund because unlike every other subscription service on the planet, you can't cancel after one month. You can suspend your account if you want a break, but you still have to pay the full year even if you're not using the service! It's ridiculous.

Eharmony Sucks

Eharmony doesn't follow their own policies. They give you the option to cancel after 3 days, which I did because i didn't really see a difference between them and other apps and they didn't read until the 4th day. They then bullied me into paying for 6 months. I told them I'm not going to use it so you're just taking money from someone who works 2 jobs to pay bills. They didn't care. So I blocked them and they got a debt collector. So they took about $200 from me for something I didn't use. Be careful. Use a different app. Not worth it.

E Harmony does not care about you. I signed up and within 5 minutes I knew I wasn't ready to date. I immediately emailed to cancel. All I got were cookie cutter corporate type emails saying they don't give refunds and I singed a contract. So I filed a dispute with my cc company. It took a while but they agreed to refund my initial payment. Months later I get an email from a collection agency for over $350 (basically the full term of what I initially signed up for but never used). I send a copy of the letter from my cc company dispute where is shows they agreed to refund my money. The response from the collection agency was that E Harmony refunded my $80 to release them from the dispute so they could "personally" come after me with a collection agency. They are a disgusting company that is full of greed. Anyway. I'll pay it and let this be a very expensive lesson. Big companies do not care about you. Traumatized and think you're ready to date? …but you're actually not. Well F you, that's your problem. You were on our site for 5 minutes. That will be $350. I'm so disgusted with E Harmony. Honestly I cannot not recommend this company enough. Also get ready to have your inbox flooded with spam and marketing emails. You're better off using tinder or just going to the grocery store.

Scam all the way

I made a profile without finalize and paying, unsure if I wanted to continue but within a day, I had multiple women wanting to chat. I was excited and read their initial messages and soon realized I could only send one in return since I was not a paying member. I could not see their faces yet either. I finally decided the next day to go for it but little did I know I was being scammed by fake profiles and having my money stolen. I read before I signed up about their three day money back return. Once I paid and viewed the women, I regretted it. Not one of them is someone I would have gone after myself and not only that but within a day, all of them disappeared. Guarantee they were fake profiles to just lure you in. I immediately wanted out and did so within 24 hours of signing up to only be told I don't live in one of their included states. Never have I ever heard of such a thing. I was pissed to say the least, now I'm out over $350 for a service I don't want and no one is real. Do not use this service, they are not who they say they are.

Don't waste your time

The matches are terrible - they might base it on personality types. But they don't take interests into account at all. The quality of the matches is also questionable; I spoke to one person who just wanted a hook up, another who got upset when I didn't want to meet in person before talking a bit, and a few others who had nothing in common with me other than a high "match score" that I question. It sucks that you have to pay to see faces, I've had a lot of people give me likes and smiles who I was not all interested in talking with. No trial period, pay big and waste your money is my experience!

So E-Harmony is a very bad company to work with if you are single. They have no customer support that is able to do anything. I missed one scheduled payment because my card was hacked for $197 and they sent 1 email only to give me a notice that I needed to pay the $197 that I missed then the next email says they are charging me about $800 upfront or will send it to my credit and collections for an entire year of service with no ability to just pay the $197 and keep the service going since they put me in a contract that automatically defaults with 1 email and 1 missed payment... beware of this bull$#*! company... they have no customer service or ability to work with you and keep there service going. They just want as much money as quickly as possible. Sign up with bumble or tinder or others but don't sign up with theses guys at E-HARMONY

I'm not going to tell you eHarmony is horrible, but these have been my issues:

1. There's a poor response rate. I've messaged 52 women. Only 11 saw my messages, and only 2 responded at all. That means 80% of all my messages went unseen and only 3% responded.

2. I've emailed them several times, and almost every time they didn't answer my questions fully and sent generic answers that appeared copy pasted.

3. Email advertising. I've turned it off on both the website and app, as well as emailing them, yet I continue to get the advertising.

4. Technical issues. I got an email that said I hadn't logged in for over a month, when I had logged in the day before, and several other times over the month.

5. Refusal to cancel contract. After my experience with the service, I decided I wanted to cancel, and they've refused.

Take what you want from this review, but this has been my experience.

The photos included show the email I received (on11/2/22) and matches showing I messaged them within a month. This is to validate my technical claim

Absolute worst

Complete scam company. They force you to pay exuberant renewal charges and then send debt collectors after you for not paying even though you quit. Customer service is pretty much non existent. DO NOT do business with these thieves.

Worst online dating app there is.

Eharmony is terrible. The apps user interface is terrible. The matches are not good. Customer service is non-existent. And you cannot cancel within 3days of subscribing unless you live in one of just 7 or 8 states. So they have you captive/on the hook for at minimum 6 months with no ability to cancel. User beware. This site is absolutely the worst online dating site. Bumble is much better. Higher quality people. Monthly subscription, and better interface.

What a joke!

Don't fall for their scam! There advertising is misleading and total BS! Can't believe there hasn't been a class action law suit filed against them. Half the profiles they post are not active members. The other have have no photos posted. The site is a joke.

Very disappointed with this:
- very expensive for the service they offer
- unsubscribed matches with subscribed members so wasted time for who has paid the subscription
- not enough search criteria to choose
- too many profiles without photos so are they real?

I was on eHarmony for a year and time and time again I would get matched up with people that had no pictures for their profile. This was extremely frustrating. I don't think it's worth the money.

Do not purchase with this company. They told me one price and then charged me a different price. Since I paid through PayPal, I emailed them through PayPal stating I didn't want the service and that I didn't agree to be charged $430. They never responded to my email. I had to search the web to find other ways to contact them. It was easy. I called numbers that didn't work. I emailed multiple email addresses. I finally got a response from an email I found 6 days after the purchase and they say they can't refund my money because I didn't get in touch with them in 3 days. I said I did contact you through the email you have listed on PayPal. So I'm having to file a dispute on them through PayPal. Don't go with this company. They are scammers!

I read on internet you had 3 days to cancel for refund. I read online you have 3 days to get full refund if you don't like it. Well within one hour I decided I don't like it. Barely any ladies in my area I put perimeter to 50km and it keeps showing 400km away. They said in Canada no refunds we are keeping your $280. I'm going through my credit card company to see if they can do anything. I do not recommend eharmony at all
