I paid $266 as a deposit to economybooking and paid $171 to thrifty car rental when picked up the car (3/15/21). I filled the gas tank FULL but NEVER RECEIVED my deposit back to this day (8/18/21)!
I rented a car and of course paid in advance. I made a 1 day mistake on the pick up date. The website indicated I could cancel with a $60 charge or modify my reservation. I spent over an hour navigating my app and their website trying to find where I could make the change. I finally found their phone number and got some lackluster overseas customer service representative who I could barely understand and said he couldn't help me from his end. He said his name was Ali, but who knows. He said the only way to modify the reservation was to cancel it with the penalty and start all over. He said I could rebook and there would be a blue box in the left corner called a "wallet" which would pay for my new reservation. I made the new reservation and all I saw was that they wanted me to pay for the reservation again. Naïvely.I thought the "wallet" might be on the next page. Unfortunately I have now paid over $1,000 for 2 reservations. I cancelled both reservations to the tune of $120.00 and he said I wouldn't see the money for 3 weeks. He was very nonchalant, and didn't seem to care or try and help me.After I told him, I was going to pursue this further online, with the Better Business Bureau, he started sending me all of these emails like he was trying to help me. I was a VP for Time Warner and this is a scam and horrific customer service. Also the price of the car was much higher the 2nd time I tried to book it. BUYER BEWARE STAY AWAY FROM ECONOMY BOOKINGS

When something goes wrong, they never intend to make good ony any of their promises: they do not call or write back, they do not follow up, and sure as hell they do not pay you anything unless you force them to, and that (in my experience) can only be done via the courts. This company is rotten and everyone should stay away from them.
