"Ebay nor Paypal will do anything to help the buyers and without us they could not stay in business! Seller sent me a package with nothing in it so it would show up as I received it when it was scanned. I contacted Ebay and Paypal so the seller sent me a piece of POOO not what I ordered. Then Paypal and Ebay did nothing about it! I reported it twice and they told me to just send it back and I was to pay for the shipping to CHINA! "
I recently purchased a car part from a vender in Europe. I DID receive it (took over 1.5 months to receive it) and upon opening it found out that it not only didn't fit my car but was manufactured incorrectly. I contaced the vendor and was told to return it for a refund. I spent over $40.00 shipping it back to them but never received my refund. Ebay Canada opened an investigation but rejected my case without giving me a decent explanation, I appealed that decision but within a day of them receiving it turned around and once again denied by claim. I didn't get my money back, the vendor kept the merchandise AND the money I paid to buy it and to make matters worse my credit card company recharged my account for the original 'credit' that they originally awarded me when I initially complained. Double Whammy! Thanks Ebay Canada. The vendor in this case (carbra-shop) was sleazy in the way they handled it but my real complaint was with Ebay Canada because they never went to bat for me. Never again with I purchase through Ebay Canada. Steve
EBay has become nothing more than an expensive, unreliable scam that banks on the reputation created by scores of other reputable online merchandising operations. In the early days, Ebay held promise of something innovative, but sadly it has devolved into nothing more than a shady, sweaty, dirty pawn shop taking your money for, and only occasionally delivering, goods from mostly disreputable entities. It says on their app that after 30 days pass from the moment you send them your money, when you don't receive, it's not their problem. When placing an order, the moment your order is placed, the shipping date changes to more than 30 days, instantly invalidating their pathetically short time frame for ensuring some level of holding up their end of the bargain, and sending you the items you've just paid for. Ebay has become the true and accurate depiction of BAIT & SWITCH in the modern online world. Do yourself a favor and look for your items elsewhere, anywhere else in fact, as you will find your items for much less, and you will actually receive them along with actual service from a company that cares about your business. Ebay DOES NOT.
I order my car mirror and they send me tracking # also i live in vancouver and tracking # shows me its in burnaby... hahhahhaa
They said its in burnaby i dont know where in burnaby i have to find hahhahha
Just waste my $60 and 1 mth for nothing
If you have lots money just want to thorw way go for ebay,,, i guess nothing can be better then Amazon on online buying
THE VERY POOREST RUN COMPANY IN AMERICA. HORRIBLE PROGRAMMING, HORRIBLE SALES, HORRIBLE SALES PRACTICES,,,,, THE PITS. RETURN PROCESS SUCKS, FEEDBACK MANIPULATED FOR BIG SELLERS, CONSTANT WEBSITE GLITCHES, IGNORANT SUPPORT, IDIOTIC HELP PAGES,,,,,
Generally good service with reliable suppliers. Occaisional problems, generally resolved in a timely fashion. It is rare to have an ongoing problem, but they do happen!
I've been buying on here for about 10 years. So far I've only run into one nasty seller who wouldn't take responsibility for her inaccurate listing. Other than that, pretty much perfection.
Aug 10/20 tried logging in; encountered repeated captchas. Gave up after four of these idiotic captchas (yes, my eyesight is good).
Goodbye, eBay!
P.S. To Sitejabber: Stop with the captchas, already!
Currently eBay involved with some seller those who are doing business unethically. The eBay supports that kind of seller directly and involved with unacceptable business and not having any good corporate governance and control over a seller. Whatsoever seller gives advertisement without checking eBay published its own website.
I bought "Orange Jasmine Bonsai Tree - 1 Live Plant (Send in special packaging)" on June 1,2015. The description of items was written as follows:
• Live plant
• Amazing tree
• Special tree
• The tree includes aluminum wire for getting a first design!
• Special tree for bonsai growers
• Plant Age - 1 year!
• Condition of the plant - Perfect
• Plant will be shipped with pot and soil.
• User guide will be added for delivery
• We send regular mail only!
Most of the descriptions are fake and cheating with customers. Today when I received the item I am surprised to see that it comes with an envelope and inside the envelope there is a 6" plastic bottle. And inside the bottle there is a 2" plant with 5 leaves and approximately age is 1/2 months.
Not only that, seller does not accept any return. I have nothing to say and only I will try to avoid eBay and will go another online seller.
Please be careful as to how and what you order through Ebay.ca, after so many items ordered with success I have now fallen victim to an item tied up and delayed at the Global Shipping Center for Ebay at Erlanger, KY. This item is now 6 weeks delayed and no messages, or refunds. I have tried contacting seller but only get a response of contact Ebay because item has been received by Global Shipping Center, Ebay response is contact seller for refund, now case is closed and still no item received or refund, WOW WHAT A SCAM, BUYER BEWARE!
I "purchased" an item from wyq******* but never received it. I waited several montys as it was shipping from China and gave the seller a 2nd opportunity to resend the item. Finally I contacted the seller to request a refund, only to be told that the seller "could not find my order". So no product, no refubd, and no help from ebay's so-called "customer service". If this seller has frauded me, I guarantee they have frauded others, and ebay is shamelessly allowing this. I will NEVER purchase from ebay again.
Bid on item and was successful, paid for it, later eBay removed item from my account and said, sorry it is unavailable, understand this is eBay not the seller. What is the point of entering into auctions if EBay can arbitrarily remove and ease said auction and you waste your time and risk your money, DISHONEST, also eBay refuses to stop the seller from jacking up shipping costs to cover price of item, EG. $10.00 item $120.00 shipping, DISHONEST, DISHONEST, very poor customer service.
WILL NOT EVER USE AGAIN!
PAID FOR ITEM BUT I WANTED TO CANCEL BUT THEY SEND OUT ANYWAY AND WANTED IMPORT FEES WHEN IT GOT HERE. I REFUSED TO PAY AND THEY DIDNT EVEN REFUND ME EVEN THOUGH I DONT HAVE THE ITEM. THEY DONT EVEN RESPOND NOW AND THE SELLER IGNORES... HOW ARE THESE PEOPLE ALLOWED TO RIP PEOPLE OFF LIKE THIS? I WANT MY MONEY BACK! WHAT DO I DO NOW?
One of the Worst website to purchase is not helpful description of the item
Is just a general description in the end you will received different items then what you except that's why Amazon is the leader on the Internet marketplace
Even Walmart is not friendly website
If u are from Canada eBay sucks. You can not make any $. Poshmark and Etsy are way better. EBay the postage from Canada is too expensive
I have never had a bad experience with this site. If I ever had a problem, it was resolved right away. I have been buying from this site for years, and I don't have a complaint about it.
I bought HP Compaq 8300 Elite SFF Desktop PC (Core i5-3470 3.2 GHz, 8 GB, 500 GB, Win 7). Item had disappeared, i gave the right address from where i work and theres no excuse to not receive because i work in the office and get all delivery that been sent to there, the seller gave me the track number that said that its been delivered but i never got it, open a case on ebay and they just close without help me to do anything, lose 300 bucks, never and never buy anything from ebay again.
I am an Ebayholic! Only because I am a cheapskate!
Let me start by saying I don't buy high end items on this site, usually things that cost under $100cdn.
It is a great place to get cheap items but you MUST do your homework first!
Number one thing is ALWAYS look at the feedback that people have given the seller and the seller percentage rating is a big clue to know if you should move to a next seller or not!
I would avoid seller that have feedback score under 98.5%
I have bought items that I won for a price that was to good to be true and when I did receive the item, the saying stood true: Cheap is good, good ain't cheap!
On the other hand though, I have gotten items that I was extremely happy with that did save me 50% plus compared to retail price.
A lot of products come from China & Hong Kong, therefore there are times that you could be waiting for a good whole month before you get your item(s).
Never had a problem with EBay but please remember what I said in the beginning, I usually buy cheap stuff under $100cdn.
There has been incidents were I would not receive the item from the merchant and with good communication btw the seller and I, I would either get the item recent(the cheaper items under $10) or a full refund.
Extremely odd times when even after the seller refunds me, my item would mysteriously appear like a month later(must of got lost within the postal service). BONUS!
Once again, to have a good experience with EBay, Do your homework, research the item and seller. Always read the description of the item you would be purchasing and not just the title of it!
Happy Bidding!
I buy a Multi Player Video GPS Car for my Toyota Highlander and when I get the product I see that is not conform to the specifications, then based on Ebay policy you have the guaranty that you get your money back, but what Ebay never told you that if you pay the shipment to return the product you will not get anything.
I call Ebay before to return the product since the vendor was asking a shipment by air so cost estimation of 250 $, then Ebay confirm that this is regular procedure and since they see the email from the vendor asking to return the shipment by flight and that he will be reimbursed the return shipment fees.
After I send the product I got only money back for the product itself but never for my return shipment. Ebay they cannot do anything since in their process I get my money back of the product. After I escalate the issue to the management they agreed to give me a voucher of the same amount of my return shipment but I need to use it in one transaction, time to choose what need to buy since need to be same or less amount in one transaction and was period of my vacation, so I took more time than allowed that I was not aware of it, then when I decide to buy something, the voucher was already expired. Ebay they just told me that they cannot do anything, it's over.
So my advice never buy something big that will cost you a lot to return it because if you receive something that was not what you was willing to buy then you have just to keep it and whenever you see it you will hate Ebay.
My Advice is simple, just buy from Amazon, the service is much more better.
Answer: I've dealt with E-Bay for many years, and anytime I've had a problem, (twice, both Chinese vendors), E-Bay has helped in obtaining a refund. Now for a couple of caveats that I recently discovered: When you purchase from a U.S. vendor, E-Bay will helpfully convert the cost to Canadian dollars. And add a conversion premium of about 3.5% to your cost. Second, even brand new items may not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty. So check before ordering! These two issues will likely see me take my future on-line purchases elsewhere.
