Don't bother
September 22, 2019

A couple of months ago I got some items from Easylife. It was supposed to be free delivery for orders over £30.00. I spent almost £200.00 but they charged me £4.99 delivery. I emailed them and got the delivery charge back no explanation. Then someone called my husband mobile (I didn't give them the landline it blocks calls not programmed into the phone) This person said he wanted to talk to me about the order. Nothing about the order was mentioned he wanted to sign me up to PEX (its under the Easylife umbrella) whereby you are supposed to get discounts in shops and restaurants etc. It costs £18.50 every 3 months. I wasn't interested but he told me I get a 3 week free trial and a £10.00 voucher. I said okay. I had to wait for the brochure and voucher this was over 2 weeks coming. A few days later £18.50 came out of my bank I had only just got the brochure and hadn't had a chance to look at it. I was so angry I phoned them told them to close the account I'm not interested. I got my £18.50 back. Just last week someone phoned again about an order I had recently placed. I said that was a couple of months ago, he said that's recent. He wanted to offer me a £10.00 voucher again, again I said I'm not interested. Husband has now block the number. I wish I had ever ordered from them.

Incompetent Staff
June 11, 2020

I wish I read these reviews earlier. I ordered some radiator shelves for my son which arrived ok in parts. I liked the shelves very much and ordered some for myself. Their website glitched when I put in my address and it came up wrong after I made the payment. I emailed them immediately and telephoned next day, I finally got through and spoke to Nadil he said he amended it and it was all ok. Well he didn't as I got an email to say part order had been despatched and the address had not been amended. I telephoned again and was 160 in the queue and waited 40 minutes before I spoke to Ali he said his computer had frozen (yeah right) but he put me through to Tony, he seemed to know what he was talking about and said he amended it - LIAR - not amended as Hermes sent me an email with it exactly the same luckily I was able to amend through them. That was part of the order now I am trying to do the same with the second part but they've now put a message in that their calls are far too numerous to try again later - from dialling dead on 9am on the dot and trying many times throughout the day I don't think so. Unfortunately, I got a miss call after 8pm from a lady called Alix (number withheld) with strong accent asking me to call back immediately on the customer service number only to find they're closed! I've been trying since and emailing to no avail. They've taken my money - I've paid with PayPal and asking them to raise a case. Only pay with PayPal with this lot as they sound like a right bunch of scammers.

I have now received a reply to my complaint about Easylife from the Information Commissioner's Office and I quote from it as follows:- "It is in our view that it is unlikely that Easylife complied with its data protection obligations in this case. This is because we do not believe you were fully informed, nor did you consent to your information, namely credit/debit card information, to be processed by Easylife for the purposes of signing you up for supercard membership". "Furthermore, it appears that you withdrew your consent on May 5th 2018, within the 14 days cool off period yet your personal information was still used to sign you up for the annual membership. Therefore it appears that your information was not processed lawfully as Easylife could not rely on consent for the condition for processing."..."We keep a record of all the concerns raised with us about the way Easylife processes personal data. The information we gather from concerns may form the basis for action in the future where appropriate. The informatlon provided in this case has been very useful". "Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention". Personally, I am very pleased with their response, and would encourage anyone who has been similarly experiences with Easylife to write a letter of complaint to the I. C. O. At Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

I was scammed by Easylife Supercard
June 18, 2018
Previous review

Like other reviewers I was scammed by Easylife. The way they scam older people who buy from their catalogue is now well known. I have now been refunded by Tesco Bank credit card as a charge back but it was not easy.
Their customer service no. Is totally automated and does not include an option for contact with a human being to discuss charges you disagree with. I eventually found the number - 0345 366 2711, but they do not make it easy. All documents supporting your claim must be submitted on line - they will not give you an address to write to. This discriminates against older people who are not always computer literate, and scanning documents and attaching to an e-mail would be an impossibility. I have also lodged a complaint with the Information Commissioners Office and await a reply, particularly if they agree with my contention that the use of personal bank information used for a catalogue purchase should not be passed on to another company who then use it to charge unauthorised transactions. Also please write to your MP. I did and got a very useful reply. Apparently the scam is very well known "and has been identified as a top priority by the Consumer Protection Partnership". Also new powers have come into force which protect consumers who were deliberately misled or bullied into buying something, also a new right to take personal action through the civil courts for misleading or aggressive demands for payment. Hopefully one day these dubious selling techniques aimed particularly at elderly people will be made illegal.

Supercard Scam
February 2, 2019

I like others received a phone call offering the Supercard where everything was not explained fully. When I received the card and realised there was no way I would use it I phoned up and cancelled immediately. I was told to return the card or I would have a £10 charge and was given an address over the phone and told to include my details, this I did and returned the card. Upon checking my credit card statement there were 2 charges from Easylife, £2.99 and £10 which I didn't recognise as purchases so I phoned Easylife. I was told the £2.99 was for sending out the card and the £10.00 was because I hadn't returned it. I had the date written down that I returned it on so I was told they would refund me, I then told them that there was no way I would have agreed to the card had I been told there was a £2.99 charge for sending it. They said they would pass on my complaint and the phone call will be listened to and they would contact me further, I am still waiting for a reply.
This company is aimed at the older members of society and is deliberately misleading people and relying on people not fully checking all charges on their credit card. If half the people they contact don't bother to investigate small sums on their card that they may not recall making a purchase for this company is making thousands of pounds out of innocent people, be warned this innocent looking company knows exactly what it is doing.

Purchased steps on 1st February for £39.99, the catalogue stated free delivery the delivery should have been £4.99. I put the free del code in my basket, still got charged delivery, decided the best thing to do would be to accept it then message them for a refund, did this immediately. The website said give them 24/48 hours to reply. On the 2nd February they took £39.99 from my bank they then put the same amount back and took out £44.99. They replied to me on the 3rd said I should put a code in I said I had and sent them the code. Waited 5 days no reply, messaged them they said it took 10 days to process as I used my debit card. It only took 1 day to take the money when I purchased the item. I went back and told them this they said they had processed it on the 11th Feb it's now the 15th and have not received it back. Will it be there by the 21st it will then have taken 21 days. I know it's not a large amount but that's not the point. Also they never gave me a delivery date for the order or emailed me as other companies do, I have received the goods I was just lucky I was in when they arrived. This is no way to run a business.

Rating 1 star only because you can't give none
Made an order of items totaling nearly £100 incl vat. On 13th Feb. All items in stock, funds taken from credit card. Expected receipt of ordered items as per Easylife statement of between 5-7 working days.
4-phone calls later, 2 emails and 2-sms/chats I still have no items. The system status is picked awaiting despatch. I've been told that they're waiting the courier to collect the order (a month - really!), they've had warehouse issues ( no kiddin'!) that its in despatch, they were making it high priority twice! I've been offered refund but I actually want the items. If its not here in next few days then I will go refund route- however, I'm not sensing that will be an easy route to travel to achieve that in short order either.
I agree that Trading Standards, Watchdog, The One Show or someone should get involved to shame the Company making them either pull their socks up and provide the service they proport to do or expose the owners for running a deceitful business of an extremely dubious calabre!

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ORDER ANYTHING FROM THESE COWBOYS! THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE THE GOODS YOU ORDERED. AND TO TRY TO GET A REFUND IS A NIGHTMARE! HOW ON EARTH THEY'RE STILL TRADING I DO NOT KNOW. ALSO, THE MAGAZINES WHICH THEIR CATALOGUES ARE IN, ARE ALSO AT FAULT AS THEY SHOULD CHECK TO SEE HOW GOOD - OR BAD IN THIS CASE - THE COMPANY IS. THE REPUTATION OF THESE MAGAZINES IS ALSO AFFECTED. ANOTHER THING, EASYLIFE IS A GROUP - SO BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN CONSIDERING ORDERING FROM ANOTHER OF THESE CATALOGUES WITH A DIFFERENT NAME, ALWAYS READ THE SMALL PRINT, AND SURPRISE SURPRISE, ALOT COME UNDER THE BANNER OF THE EASYLIFEGROUP - BE SURE TO CHECK, AS THERE ARE A FEW, LIKE, GOOD IDEAS, COOPERS, AND OTHERS, SO BE CAREFUL AND CHECK. I HAVE BEEN CAUGHT OUT MYSELF BY THEIR OTHER NAMED COMPANIES, SO BEWARE. EASYLIFE GROUP SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED BY TRADING STANDARDS - AND CLOSED DOWN - BUT THEN THEY WOULD JUST SET UP ANOTHER SCAM BUSINESS! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ ALL OF THE BAD REVIEWS ABOUT THESE CHARLATANS BEFORE YOU CONSIDER ORDERING, AND HOPEFULLY YOU WILL CHANGE YOUR MIND.

I ordered a Hair Cutting Comb from Easylife on 26 May, on 30 May I had an email from them which read "Good news your order is on its way! It's all been packed up and has left our warehouse, please see below for tracking details." The tracking number does not relate to the 2 delivery companies that Easylife use, Hermes and Royal Mail. The tracking number given to me consisted of only 4 digits. The email went on to say " Tracking may take up to 24 hours to show on the Hermes website. Some of our goods are not trackable. Rest assured this email means they are on there way to you. In some cases your order will arrive via Royal Mail and will not be trackable. Please allow up to 10 days from this email receipt to receive these". I believe Easylife warehouse is probably in China hence the huge delay in receiving the goods especially when I ordered the item they said I would receive the item on 1 June. Today as I write this it is 8 June. We're in a crisis and want our orders fulfilled with some sort of urgency. It's no good customers ordering face masks and hand sanitizer from them and receiving them when the pandemic is over. I doubt if Easylife ever read the scathing reviews otherwise they may act a little differently towards their customers. In conclusion I did ring Easylife and got a recorded message. The first thing the message said was there are delays because of Covid 19 and if I would like to speak to an agent I was 106 in the queue and the average waiting time to be answered was 1 hour and 6 minutes. I have emailed them but they don't reply. Don't order from this company I have found the same product on Amazon £2 cheaper and much cheaper post
