Today I cancelled my internet, I have saved money with my cell phone provider. Also combining my cell and internet bill. On canceling with EarthLink they first tried to convince me to stay by lowering my payment, which was still higher than the internet carrier i was transferring to, but; EarthLink also refused to give me a refund bc I did not cancel on a specific date. I am outraged! What a tip off company!

I haven't been with EarthLink not even a day. The customer service representative don't give you none of the right information! I talk to 3 different representative & they all lied to me on different things! All EarthLink want is is your money! I ask to speak to a manager but, they want let you talk to anyone! I have been so upset all day about this Internet! I want.to cancel my service but, they continue to lie like they are going to fix the problem! I am getting ready to dispute my transaction with them & I'm going to send their equipment back! They have charge my card twice but still no service!

The service is over priced compared to other providers, but if you're not satisfied, there's a $175 early termination fee...not to mention the hassle and UPS charges to return the equipment. I don't know how they get away with it.

5 days of service is ALL we got before running out of data! I paid for a month's service! I specifically told the first moron (when I signed up) what exactly we use internet for (school, streaming tv & music)! What on God's green earth made the idiot think 5 days worth of data was enough, is beyond me! THEEEEN when I called to ask about it, they wanted me to either upgrade or add data! $130 later, here I am on the phone AGAIN trying to rectify the issue! I was refused even a partial refund, because "I've received the router & the internet did work" (for 5 whole days)! Their customer service (or lack thereof) is HORRIBLE & so is their internet service! It's one BIG SCAM! Do yourself a favor & run! Run away, as fast as you can!

They had told me I would have internet by Wednesday 8am-11am and nobody ever came and I called them and they told me they would call back due to taking care of customers and I never got a call back or my internet! Very furious when I called again they said I need a router and that they hadn't shipped my router out yet and not sure when it will be shipped.

ZERO stars is more appropriate. This company buys/rents its internet from another company like century link, AT&T, etc. or which ever company is in your area. Then they cap your data speeds and charge you the same price or higher for the full speed they rented. They pray on people that aren't tech savvy or know the jargon. For example, they have been ripping my 70 year old mother off for over a year until i recently was over to her house and investigated why here internet she is paying 60 a month for was so lousy. Century link in her area offer speed up to 100 mbps for 50 a month and 940 mbps for 75 a month. EarthLink rents from century link in her area. My mother even has century link equipment provided by EarthLink, they tricked my mother into paying 60 bucks a month for a capped speed of 3 mbps. 3. I wouldn't pay 10 bucks a month for that, let a lone 60. So I had my mom call them and see what was up, they did nothin but lie to her and gave her some bs speech about that is the highest speeds in the area and blah blah blah - LIE. I am a tech, I do understand how it works and "century link doesn't offer speed that low in this area, EarthLink is ripping customers off knowing full well that for 60 bucks a month they could and should have over 100 mb/s for that price. Charging 60/month for 3 mbps should be criminal. No business should be allowed to operate this way. Cant believe they get away with this crap. DONT DO BUSNESS WITH THESE PEOPLE> DONT DO IT> YOU WILL PAY FOR A DOZEN EGGS AND ONLY RECEIVE 2 EGGS, WHILE THEY SELL YOUR OTHER 10 EGGS at THE SAME RATE TO OTHER UNKNOWING CUSTOMERS and THE KICKER IS THEY BOUGHT THE EGGS FROM THE SAME STORE IN YOUR AREA THAT YOU CAN SHOP AT.

I've been a subscriber for years and I've noticed in the past couple of years how bad earthlink is at filtering out spam from email. Every day I get lots of spam with the '. Info' tail. I have reported these to earthstink numerous times, and have even sent messges to them asking if they will do something about it, to no avail. It seems apparent that earthstink derives a financial benefit from plastering this junk on my email account. A robot firewall would be an effective means to keep this crap away, but since earthstink obviously gets paid for these ads, it will never get better. Had I not been using this email addy for so long so that my legitimate correspondents know where to send my messages, I would go to another provider.

Tried Earthlink Hyperlink for a mere week and it was a bad experience from day 2. First off, the sales rep told me over chat the incorrect installation price and I had to talk to two different representatives to get the quoted price which I was told would be refunded over the span of 3 months. Well they knew what they were doing because the service is absolutely horrible and I will never keep it for the span of three months. I've had it for one week and I'm done. I chatted and called tech support 5 times altogether. I was told I'd get speeds of 12 mbps but really that meant only 80% of that (seriously?), well, I was regularly getting less than 1 mbps. I would call, they would ask me to turn off the modem, restart the computer (eye roll), 'clear' their lines, and the speed would go up to 12 mbps. Immediately after ending the call the speed would be back down to less than 1. This happened twice in one day while only trying to use one device. Imagine a regular day when my husband is streaming Netflix, my daughter is gaming, and I'm listening to Pandora. I called to cancel, the process took 15 mins and I was initially told my monthly charge wouldn't be refunded although she eventually agreed to refund the $32.37. I'm still out the $69.99 install fee for a service I had for about a week and was abysmal the entire time, plus the time dealing with the install and customer service. At no time was the sales rep upfront about the actual speed I would get or that this would be using AT&T DSL lines (which I had tried before and knew was very slow) and gave me misinformation on top of that (I'll never see the refund for the difference in price on the install fee I was quoted). If anyone out there is thinking about using Earthlink--DON'T DO IT!

MISLEADING! They offer to help you get a "professional" website up and running, built to "your specifications" and instead, they put together something that looks elementary at best, and do not even bother to follow the guidelines you laid out or even bother to make sure the information is correct! They even went as far as to put up a fraudulent "customer accolades" page with made up comments on it! And when I went back to them after this initial site was developed, per their request, with corrections that needed to be made, they showed me how I can change them! They published it with incorrect, incomplete, and fraudulent information and would not even unpublish it, let alone correct it! I had to take time (immediately) from my busy schedule to unpublish it to avoid embarrassment for our little company at a very important time for us. I feel completely ripped off! Know what you are getting yourself into here and don't expect much.

This Earthlink call center is located in India. It's corporation is being ran in India, though it is registered in the US. I canceled my internet service with them upon discovery! I am uncomfortable with my private network being monitored in another country.
