Incorrect time for steelers game wont even give acc championship game dish channel $#*!ing garbage cant even complain to ddg customer service without 30 min bs forms
Search results are often geographically inappropriate; specify 'U. K. only' and you get USA results! Duck Duck Go is, therefore, totally unreliable as an effective search engine.
Although it appears I am using the duckduckgo web site on my local computer, I can still see the previous users Facebook account still logged in. In addition, the game I play Farmerama.com has several names of previous uses on the account, and these did not even sign in on the same day. The library used to delete this information on a daily basis, but now using Duckduckgo, they don't seem to be doing so. The Duckduckgo site comes up when you put a Chrome icon, and the library is using duckduckgo as the default. If you have a contract with Chrome, something regarding privacy isn't right. I don't know why you would trust a Google browser anyway, since you have things written by your executives saying they are not trustworthy when it comes to privacy. I can't send you a like because the library won't allow me to save screen shot, or any other file to the computer. The library is the Alexandria, LA *******.
When I submitted a complaint it sent my complaint to a totally unrelated web site. I sent them the following message.
The duckduckgo sent me to this site because I had previously clicked on something about Quora and duckduckgo. It redirected the email to that site. Duckduckgo says they are easy to contact, but apparently not so.
Privacy? No, that's observably and obviously a lie. Good search results? No, your research will be a pain to complete. Unbiased searches? You'll be quick to notice omitted results of websites or entire opinions, so that too is a pipe dream. At least they don't sell data, right? Suuuuuure, that's why Google can provide suggestions based on duckduckgo searches. Well, I can watch videos without going to actual websites like Youtube, which store cookies, so there's that! No, duckduckgo loves cookies, and furthermore, the feature that allows you to watch those videos on duckduckgo is disappearing due to cookie blocking, which was stored anyway.
In short, this website is a pathetic excuse for a search engine who tries to get people to use it based on blatant lying as advertising. I don't know what a good option is, but duckduckgo is not it. I don't know how these big Internet corporations are not getting sued left and right while being dismantled for privacy infringement, data collection, biased search presentation, and monopoly like business practice.
Deleted the app. App not as promoted as it fell along the path of censorship in America that has run rampant these last 2 words. Losing trust more and more by the second.
I have been accessing a popular games website to play games. They limit you to six games a day. Up until a few weeks ago, I could log out and then log back in and play as many games per day as I liked, although due to other items on my schedule, I rarely played beyond the six games.
However, two to three weeks ago, all of a sudden, if I logged out and then back in, my earlier search was highlighted indicating that I had already accessed that site that day. So when I tried to play more games, I was informed that I had no plays left for the day.
I have tried rebooting my settings, opting out of and then back into Duckduckgo as my search engine. It makes absolutely no difference. The games website still shuts me out.
Perhaps not incidentally, my media device has recently been overwhelmed with advertisements to the point that I opt for "reader view" whenever it is offered as an option.
I called Duckduckgo at *******456 and a voice message informed me that I was being transferred to a "Google" voice messaging machine.
So I searched and sure enough, Google purchased Duckduckgo with the inevitable results that my searches are now being tracked. I am planning on calling the FCC.
Within 24 hours of switching my browser, scam email was sent from a very (formerly) pristine gmail account. This gmail account even had a new, very challenging password combination.
I love duckduckgo it's great for privacy although the results are not as accurate as google I think it is worth the sacrifice to stop google following you everywhere.
This company needs to be shut down. They thrive on paranoia and false advertising, claiming to be 'completely anonymous' (completely false). They use all that 'evil' data collected by Google to target you with annoying ads that scream "GOOGLE TRACKS YOU!" You don't say! The CEO of this organization is desperate to convince people that Google is an evil company and that data collection should be banned and that we should all use 'DuckDuckGo'. Keep dreaming, pal. DO NOT USE DuckDuckGo, it is a fraudulent service that fetches search results from Yahoo/Bing and is NOT 'anonymous'. Get a VPN and boycott this crap.
I love DuckDuckGo. It is so cool. On settings you can use your thumb print. The only downside is that if somebody gets on your phone they can add there finger print
Selling our info just like Google. Forget it. Can you beleive this? Now they are squashing what they call "misinformation". Same as Google!
Accidentally bumped into this search engine while using one of the known browsers. Seems to work well, but I dont really get the point of actually using this.
I have been trying to find a more private and secure engine to Google Search for some time now. What I find worrying is the fact that Google traces all your moves, logs your computer details, your IP address, you location and so much more! I then came across Google SSL, more secure against outside tracking, but still doesn't stop Google from tracking you.
I then found https://www.ixquick.com, which has a great engine. It comes with SSL and doesn't even log your IP address or your search terms. But then - the problem with Ixquick.com is that it doesn't turn up very relevant search results. Its now about a month later and I have found the best one yet. DuckDuckGo! It supports both HTTP and HTTPS which is good. It also doesn't log your search terms or even your IP address.
I compared Google's search results on my name to DuckDuckGo search results. Funnily enough, I found DuckDuckGo to come up more relevant than Google. I managed to find some old profiles and some press releases that I never thought were published on the net!
This isn't all though. The SSL version located here: https://duckduckgo.com/ has a Firefox addon called "HTTPS Everywhere". Thus, when entering sites like Facebook, Wikipedia, etc that support HTTPS connection, you can click to enter SSL mode. Finally - DuckDuckGo.com also works with the TOR Network. You can run this search engine through their proxy to get ultimate privacy.
I do not care about privacy, i care about having less oriented proposition to my query LOLOLOL
Google is biased in politic, global warming (lot of site non scientific and pro AGW) or explicit sex language
Make some test yourself
Clean layout, good results (not great), MAJOR BENEFIT, you can search on a topic without fear of getting slammed with banner ads related to that topic, which seems to be how Google operates. I would rather stick with good search results from a company that is getting better, than work with better search results from a company that is getting worse.
BECAUSE OF THEIR NUBBY PRIVACY THINGY, None of my bookmarks are saved, TONS of ads pop up, and they keep saying, "sWitCH to DuCkdUcKgO! 11! 1! ItS BetTer!" Unlike DuckDuckGo, GOOGLE INC actually is HELPFUL, NOT LIKE THIS STUPID PEICE OF -ahem-! 1! 1!
I search for GLD, the investment symbol for GOLD, and Duck changes it to search for GOD!
Many times I do not realize they have changed the search item title and I waste a lot of time wondering and searching the results for GOD. There is no way to opt out of this automatic "correction", so I have gone back to Google. DuckDuckGo just doesn't get it.
Just wanted to say that A. J. is a very nice person and a wonderful personality... Hope if I have a problem in the future A. J. is the one I will call... Thanks A. J. for the great service today...
Duckduckgo recently said they would start boosting results based on their own values, which is the opposite of what they said they would do
I have a new HP PC and it was so slow. I used computers for 15 years doing civil design work so I believe I can say I know a bit about them but not a lot. Brought this new pc and could not believe how slow it was, I recently revisited the Harvey Norman store where I purchased the PC from and just in conversation with the salesman who sold me this pc I bought up the fact that the PC was terribly slow, his replay about the slow speed was "you get what you pay for". Well I now know different after removing Microsoft Office and shutting down what ever I could of Microsoft software and using Duckduckgo' I am now happy with the speed of the PC. Hmmmmm Duckduckgo what are you doing to the corporate world you cant be honest!
