I can't use duckduck because every time I have to answer something online, or in my email, it doesn't redirect me to where it should. It just redirects me to a bookmarked page. It makes me so angry that I'll just be tracked by Google. I can't answer anything on an important form because I lose my page. That's a really bad feature. People need to be directed to the right page when filling out forms.
You know it's useless when you type in a search request, and within a few results it's already pulling results that don't have the words you typed. Even words in QUOTES, totally ignored within a few results. I wish I could find a search engine that actually searches for what I type into it but I guess I might as well just give up on even using them anymore because they're all as utterly garbage as this one. Seriously, you can't even give THREE RESULTS before pulling up stuff that I didn't type and ignoring my quotes? My god.
What confuses me the most is why people gush over this search engine. It's complete trash! It works about on par with Google, another piece of trash. Oooh boy it doesn't track me, how useful when it doesn't ever find any useful results. I sure hope nobody tracks these results that are completely irrelevant to my search! That would be just terrible!
I swear, I would allow someone to look over my shoulder at every search I make if it would ensure I get a search engine that actually functions as a search engine and not as a glorified marketing tool.
I wanted to get in contact with them, but as the reputable business they are they don't provide any way to do so. They suggest you ask questions in "their community," by which they mean a SUBREDDIT. Yes that's right, the ONLY place you can ask questions is from a social media site where trolls regularly downvote people for asking or answering questions! GREAT IDEA DUCK DUCK GO! I'll be sure to not ask any questions and never use your search engine again!
Duckduckgo claims to only provide ads based on what you currently search, however I had looked up Planned Parenthood, then I started seeing ads for Planned Parenthood when I was looking up mothball deodorizers. This was the only instance where I caught them tracking, but it still seems suspicious since they claim they're not like the rest...
NO search engine can keep you from being tracked Duck might not track but every site you hit does track. Still need to be aware. We can't blame duck for our lack of planned and active protection
As most of you may be aware, the U.S. federal gov. Mandated that web browsers are required to have a back door for them to access. This is to protect the public against crinimal activity. The last of the browsers that went out without a trace ended back in the late 1990s. I use to have one, but by todays standards, ghost browsers would be timed out or halted my most servers.Tor has a fairly secure browsers, it takes some knowledge to use, and it is slower to surf. Would suggest having a firewall to reduce call back traffic from your own apps. Really good browsers connect outside the states, and re-enter, but alot of risk associated if you dont know what your doing, info. Can be stolen abroad, and possibly no U.S. laws can protect you. Then the U.S. D. H. S. will be monitoring everything as a foreign connection comming into the states.
Privacy has become very important nowdays, and will be veeeeery important in near future. Duckduckgo has accomplished being browser that respects privacy.
I now have duckducked about six months and have found all info i need just as easily as any other browser. All this without worrying agent smiths that tailed me when i didnt had this awesome program! So i thank you developers, you deserve to be appriciated!

-easy and lots of customization options!
OMG, this is the WORST thing I have ever done to my ipad! And it WILL NOT DELETE! No matter how many times I have tried, it keeps reappearing to a search I did last summer, and it is even complete with the misspelling of the thing I searched LONG ago! It is like a bad memory my ipad cannot erase! I wish I could leave negative stars as 1 star is too many! They OBVIOUSLY do track and are basing their reputation on that, but it is a lie! If anyone knows how I can completely extract this nightmare from my ipad, please leave me a message. Thank you!
Masa Allah it's best option in front of google and now google transfer everything still privacy also. Shame and damn on Google, insaAllah know no more google in next some years.
It's Messiah 's word, if google can hurt The Messiah then insaAllah he is know finishing self aamin.
Have been using Duck Duck Go instead of google for a while now. The problem is I still get google pop up ads all the time? Anyway to stop this? Need help!
A friend from church told me about & showed me duck duck go. I love it & the logo is very cute. It works great and I am so thankful for yall. How do you make money? Thanks again. Van V.
You go to duck go they have you enter in all your information then the give you 2 options to enter your information once again it don't save you any money I'm pretty sure they sell your information because how else would they make money I got quoted the same price going thru them as I did going directly to the company I use no savings what so ever
DuckDuckGo provides great results in an easy to search site. I've found things on here that I didn't find elsewhere, and it's service is quick and easy to use! Highly recommended!
My Mac desktop with Mavericks has two accounts, Admin and Secondary. I found DuckDuckGo at Apple's extensions page, installed DuckDuck Go in the Admin account and it duplicated itself in the secondary account. Search results are commercialized and simplistic. It hides from all computer searches and I cannot uninstall it. All instructions for removal that I found, even at DuckDuckGo site, do not work. I must conclude from this that Apple and DuckDuckGo are both criminal.
Im so grateful for DuckDuckGo! Safer for my kids as well and gives me peace of mind. BEST ever. I hIghly recommend everyone using the internet to go DuckDuckGo
I've been using ddg from about 9 months, I live in India and it seems to give pretty accurate information and the search results are pretty up to date exactly what I'd expect (most of the times), where it kinda trails behind is Maps, if I search for a specific place, it uses Apple Maps (I do know that Apple respects privacy and is much better in those terms). Apple Maps is basically unusable in India, it does not show any relevant information, ratings or pictures about the place, so I found myself switching to google to perform anything related to finding a place. Rest assured, one of the best private alternatives to Google. I personally use it on Brave browser on Windows/Linux and the ddg app is good enough for Android.
I recently made the switch and couldn't be happier. Results which are removed from Google because of copyright are usually still available on DuckDuckGo
I thought I'd give DuckDuckGo a try when I switched over to Firefox. Boy was I shocked by the results of my first search. I searched for Al Gore's funders. The enitre (ENTIRE) set of search results were completely fallacious, rightwing, Nazi nonsense. I couldn't believe it. So, DuckDuckGo is GONE.
Did a test search for "least expensive voice over programs." DuckDuckGo went straight to "cell phones". A quick comparison with Google confirmed that DuckDuckGo is a waste of time.
I was looking for an image of Al Gore Rolling Stone Cover. Google images has many. Duckduckgo has ZERO. You can scroll down to thousands of Al Gore pics and NOT A SINGLE ONE is the Rolling Stone Cover. Only an evil person would deliberately remove that.
DuckDuckGo is okay, it gives you more results and if you get the chrome extension it will rate the safety of the websites. But it does still run cookies, (although that would be tracking the websites you're on), and... wait, hold up. Why is DuckDuckGo making an extension for google chrome on the GOOGLE CHROME webstore? Google chrome is obviously owned by google, as stated in the name. DuckDuckGo also advertises itself on YOUTUBE, also owned by google. Welp, now google is helping DuckDuckGo. Umm...
DuckDuckGo has a rating of 2.3 stars from 223 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. DuckDuckGo ranks 237th among Search sites.
