I came across to promotion of dropbox to store my files online
I signed up for the account cost $170 annually charge
When I received my credit card bill I noticed being charged $850
It took several days to get someone(Good Luck with that) on the phone agents telling me because I choose to have an account under my business I have to have 5 account minimum and I am stuck on the account paying $850. This is a kinda trick they use to overcharge you for what you don't even need and
All people out there think twice before you giving your credit card number to dropbox. It is a scam to overcharge the people
Don't ever sign up with them you will regret it big time
You have to give them your credit card number to try Drop Box business for 30 days. They say, cancel before the trial is up and no charge. I tried to cancel well before the 30 days was up, and wasn't able to. I contacted them, and was told it was already downgraded.
Sure enough, on the 30th day, the charge for $85 went through on our credit card, Now we are suffering through the painful back and forth emails, the last one being "... reviewed by members of our team who specialize in this kind of issue They'll review it carefully and we will get back to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, if there's any additional information that you think would be helpful for us to know, please feel free to reply."
Why is this so complicated Dropbox? You charged us when you shouldn't have. Simply reverse the charge.
I quite liked the free version of Dropbox before this situation. To me this is simply poor business practice, putting us as the consumer in the Buyer Beware position. I no longer trust them.
Sucked into "upgrading" for a 30 day free trial, I was surprised by a $750 charge on my credit card for something I do not want and find impossible to use without hassle. Charge is currently in dispute with Visa.
This company is a thief. They set you up for the 30-day trial and charge you for a whole year ($750) even the product does not work and you do not need it after the trial. Stay away from this company. I may bring them to court.
I signed up for a free trial and after thirty days, if I decided to keep the service, it would be a fee of a little over $12.00 per month. My debit card was charged $750.00 yesterday and am livid! Even if they wanted to charge me for a whole year, it would have only been around $150.00! I tried to cancel before my trial ended, but evidently, they don't allow you to do that. I tried every way I could think of, to contact them, to no avail. Scam artists make themselves unavailable for a reason. Contact your banks, when this happens to you... they will turn it over to VISA or any other credit or debit card company and they will start an investigation. These people are nothing but thieves and must be stopped.
Dropbox offers a free 30 day trial. If you do not cancel, they automatically sign you up for a business account costing $300.00. Then there is no one "authorized" to provide you with support. I had to cancel my debit card to assure they did not continue to charge me for a service that I did not ask for or even use once. Beware!
Had some problems with it initially, but their customer support team got in contact with me very quickly and resolved the issue.
I ended up with more than one account, all because I missed something, then found it after the fact. I called figuring I'd get it sorted. Well I got no help whatsoever, so I went and had to email them my issue, Now I need to wait 1-3 days for a reply! Customer service stinks! I like having the virtual back up drive, but their customer service needs improvement!
WHy won't you refund my money?
I am now seeking legal action.
I am extremely disappointed in Dropbox, they claim they have this superior product, however I am having issues that will negatively effect my business and the productivity in my office. I have called multiple times, selecting every option and there are ZERO LIVE people that can help. All options direct back to their website which is not helping. I can't use a product that does not offer support! Such a let-down!
I use the free version of dropbox, it works really well. I hear the paid versions are a complete scam though.
Signed up fro 30 day trial and I didn't cancel in time. Got hit for $750 for a annual fee. I was 1 week late in cancelling. I don't remember the fee as being so high or I must have thought as any reasonable person would think that it was a small monthly fee. At least they could make it a monthly fee and cancel at any time. They've lost all potential future business we could give them. Really poor customer service. They must be making money from people who fall for this scam.
Thieves. I canceled Dropbox Pro in February but still got charged for March. I contacted them via email and forwarded my cancellation email, and they still said there was nothing they could do. I had to call my bank to get the charge removed. Terrible business practice. Why fight me so hard for $9.99 and lose all future potential sales from me?
We signed up for a 30 day trial for DropBox Business. We never received any sort of billing notice and suddenly got hit with a $1500 charge. When we called to ask why it was so much we were told that we had signed up for 100 licenses. We explained that we didn't need 100 licenses, only 5 for now, but they informed us that they had a "no refunds" policy and we were out of luck. When we requested to speak with somebody about adjusting our bill because that's not what we signed up for, we were told that nobody could speak to us.
These kind of preditory bait and switch tactics might be great for their short term bottom line, but in the long run this will ruin them. After the 30-day trial, we would have been happy to pay for 5 licenses for years and years, but instead we'll be taking our business elsewhere.
I'm a free user so i don't have any problems that paid users mentioned. Probably, it's the solution... i'm okay and there's enough space for me, so i will stay this way.
Dropbox is a great service with excellent features. The pricing is also quite good. In this day and age we all have thousands of files, and they need to be backed up and easily accessible. You cant go wrong with dropbox
I love this product, it help me drop my u disk, and I can get my file everywhere in an easy way.
Dropbox is a sham. The company promises peace of mind to back up your important documents. In reality, when at least a quarter of my documents turned up missing the company blamed me, told me I had deleted the files, then told me I was out of luck. They have an "events" tab that tracks your activity and there was no event in that tab that would indicate I had deleted any files. But they don't even trust their own activity tracker! When I asked for a refund I was told they do not give refunds. The company does not deliver on what it promises, does not stand by their claims, and does not care about their customers. Don't trust them. I'm sure sorry that I did.
Tried to cancel and request a refund within 60 days of my membership because my company changed their reimbursement policy. I received the same canned response after several requests:
"Due to the policies outlined in our Terms of Service, we are unable to provide a refund for this transaction. Our terms state that all of Dropbox's Pro Plans auto-renew and will continue renewing until canceled."
Zero service, zero flexibility... they would not even consider a partial refund.
Answer: TRUE THEY SCAMMED ME TOO!
Answer: SCAMMERS!
Answer: I hope there is a class action suit and I will join it.
Answer: Dropbox customer support will soft talk you into thinking they are helping to put a stop to their fraudulent charges, but in the end they actually do nothing. I don't believe they have an in-house system to stop credit card charges. There are many crooked companies that do business this same way as well. How many people don't read their credit card statement in full every month? And the dropbox folks rake in the fraudulent charges people don't catch. Call them, and they say "we're sorry" it won't happen again. I went through that three times and finally had to re-issue my card with a new number. Shown is a canned text statement below sent to people with billing problems: >"I will need all of the following information for security reasons and to locate the charge to assist you:"< > Card type First six digits of the card Last four digits of the card Full name on the credit card charged Date of charge Amount charged Billing postal code< "Dear Dropbox, If I spent the same amount of time, it takes to cancel a CC looking at the thousands of negative online reviews before I bought Dropbox I would be well ahead of the game. I added my negative review of dropbox to the many already online after I changed the CC number on my Visa, of course. And no, I will not give you any more cc numbers or names. Dropbox has a worldwide reputation of continuous charges once they get your number. Did you think I just fell off the turnip truck? LOL Goodbye Forever,"
Answer: I was unsuccessful as well. I ended up disputing the charge with my credit card. It is still being investigated. My wife was successful in getting a refund on a new account that she never used, within 7 days of paying. She is the only one I know of that has done that successfully.
