Extremely uncomfortable and when you complain they say this
Doc Socks (you can purchase these on our website), these are technical socks, specifically made to help break in Dr Martens and ease the pain from some of the more painful areas. Ensure you are wearing thick socks that sit above wear the ankle to ensure nothing rubs against your leg.
- Dubbin, this is a chemical manufactured specifically to help break down the leather material in a way that doesn't ruin the footwear. You should apply on the inside of the boots on the areas that are most problematic, as applying it on the outside can ruin the colour.
- Wonder Balsam, our wax (or any wax that is a combination of coconut oil, beeswax & lanolin) applied once or twice a month, depending on wear, will help keep the leather nourished and help soften.
- Body heat. Unfortunately, as much as it can hurt, your body heat is what will help break the footwear in best and mould to the shape of your feet and legs. This being said, try to wear them for often (but short) bursts of time as opposed to long hours at a time and then long periods of no wear in between.
Shouldn't boots that cost 140 pound be comfortable? Cheaper fake ones much better
They wouldn't get back to me about my refund.
No communication and customer support couldn't help because they are in the US and I'm in Canada
Zero stars out of 5!
I work in a place where water gets everywhere and my feet get soaked so I was looking for waterproof boots. I found a pair that was really expensive even for Dr martens; waterproof with wintergrip soles, whatever that means. I looked at pics and the tread looked like it might work so I ordered them. Very first thing I did when I wore them was slip on the first ice I stepped on! Wintergrip soles can't handle ice?! Apparently they're specifically made for better grip on snow only. I have never, nor have I ever heard of anyone slipping in just snow... Well then I got to work and they had absolutely no traction whatsoever on even slightly wet floors, so they're completely useless for me for work. Well they were pretty comfy and seemed good boots for camping so I decided to use them for camping, but I still needed a pair of work boots. Went ahead and ordered the slip resistant ones specifically for oil and water slip resistance. They didn't even close to fit. Length was fine but they were narrow and the vamp was like a vice. Took three days to get them stretched properly to even get them on my feet. Then went to work. First patch of ice, bam fell and busted my knee. Later slipped on more ice and busted my other knee. Even my regular not slip resistant shoes I've never slipped in ice this much. They worked slightly better inside on the wet floors, but still nowhere near where I want them to be for $180. I could buy three pair of shoes for crews for that! But I wanted something that would last longer and heard good things about docs. Must have been back when they made them well. Can't return them cause I wore them. Doesn't matter that they don't do what they're advertised to do, still can't return them. Out $420 on two pair of worthless boots. And guess what? The reviews on their website? All fake. They have to be fake, because I went to write a review and it's not possible to write reviews, so how did they get there? Hmmm, very interesting. I should have done my research like I usually do but a good and trusted friend swore by them. Like I said, must have been back when they were actually worth anything. All in all this has been, hands down, the absolute worst shoe buying experience, by miles, I've ever had in my entire life.
I purchased a pair of Bonny Tech Extra Tough Poly boots from the site. They arrived OK after the usual hassles dealing with Fedex. The quality was marginal, with some glue delamination in the toes. The boots were a bit big, as Doc's do not come in 1/2 sizes, so I added an extra insole and decided to just live with it, as there are no free returns or exchanges. Not ideal, but what can I do?
The real burn was that within a few days of receiving the boots, the price dropped by $20. Like any reasonable person I thought "I'll just contact them for a price adjustment". They informed me that "out of fairness to their customers" they do not offer price adjustments. I emailed them back, that a majority of reputable retailers do offer price adjustments especially since the price drop occurred within 10 days of purchase. Of course I haven't heard back from them since.
So I canceled the rest of my orders with them, and will not deal with them in the future. So for the sake of $20 they lost a good customer (my family buys a lot of shoes, and so do my friends).
For me it is not about the $$, I would have been OK with a reasonable explanation of why a company does not honor price adjustments, but please do not feed me some line of BS and expect me to smile.
I just don't trust them!
Hey there,
I wanted to talk to you about a major issue I have with my recent order and the sneaky delivery service your company offers. So, on June 26, I paid for your so-called "express delivery" service, thinking it would make sure I got my stuff before I moved. They specifically said it would take 2-3 days, and the latest I would get it by is June 30. But guess what? When I checked the shipping status on June 29, I couldn't believe my eyes. They changed the delivery date to July 5! That's a ridiculous delay and totally breaks the promise they made.
This is beyond disappointing. Instead of getting my package in 2-3 days like they said, it's now taking a whopping 8 days. That's not express at all! And to make matters worse, they charged me an extra EUR11.00 for the express service they didn't even deliver. This whole situation not only means a huge delay but also puts the whole order in jeopardy because I'll already be at my new place by the new delivery date. I could end up losing the entire value of the order!
Their customer service is absolutely terrible, and it reflects badly on your company. It's also a violation of Trading Standards. You can't go around tricking customers, charging crazy fees for services you don't actually provide, and pretending to offer express delivery when it's all just a big lie. Your company needs to be honest about delivery times and not set false expectations.
I need something done about this right away. Here's what I demand:
Tell me why the delivery is so incredibly late and why they lied about the express delivery service.
Get my order to me where I am now by June 30, like they originally promised.
Give me a refund of the EUR11.00 they charged me for a service I didn't receive.
Make sure you have better, more transparent delivery services in the future. No more deceptive practices or misleading delivery times.
I expect a quick response to this complaint. You need to address all the problems I mentioned and come up with a solution within [reasonable time frame, like 7 business days]. If you don't give me a satisfactory response or fix the issue, I won't hesitate to report this to the consumer protection authorities and take legal action.
I hope you understand how serious this is and how it's shaken my trust in your company. You need to take immediate and decisive action to fix these problems and restore my faith in your organization.
Thanks for looking into this complaint. I'm waiting for your speedy response.
I ordered myself Dr. Martens Nappas, which are apparently slightly easier to break in than the standard version. I ordered them straight from the site and they arrived about a week later. I recommend sizing up if you are a half size, since they don't do half sizes. I have wide feet, and they feel very comfortable and roomy.
It took a few days to break them in, walking around the house wearing them all day, but I didn't get any blisters and didn't have any trouble. The shoes are in great condition and look spotless even after I walked outside in snowy weather.
Overall, my experience purchasing from here was very pleasant. I can see why Dr. Martens are so popular, their shoes really are of great quality and very comfortable once you break them in.
I own a couple of Dr Martens boots.
I love the brand its very unique but classic, the finishes and patterns on the boots are great.
They are expensive at full price but worth the money.
Although the shoes have Dr Matens trademark soles, without thick, fluffy bed socks they can be uncomfortable to wear as they rub easily.
This classic brand is unique and up to date.
The stores are fun to look around and the staff are always kind.
Love this brand and the boots.
Was rather excited when they launched their Vegan Collection but their boots are not up to par. Though the material used is alright and also happens to be waterproof, the shoe laces are abysmal and unless you tie them all the way up, you have to stop literally every 100m to retie them. What's even worse is in between those 100m you will have to stop at least once to pick your socks up because regardless of how strong the elastics are, the back side of the shoe is designed in such a way that it pulls your socks down and they slip through. So all in all - a huge inconvenience. Certainly expect more for the price they charge.
The vegan leather boots feel like cardboard! Not worth the price! I own better, softer vegan leather.
Not long ago I bought a lace up boots from this brand. It wasn't my first boots from Dr. Martens. I love them. I'm sure that my boots will be good looking many years.
SO VERY HAPPY WITH THE MADE IN ENGLAND BOOTS... SO COMFORTABLE AFTER TWO WEEKS. $#*! CHINA... England rules
