Extremely dishonest business practice, baiting you with free trial but only to charge you once you sign up with your card.
I innocently got 10 photo membership with a one week free trial period. Downloaded image were unusable because of watermarks. I was told tahn that if I want real images I will have to get a commercial membership... In my opinion these guys are scammers from Rumania,,, use at your own risk!
Do not trust this company. They say you have a 'free trial of 1 week' but they still charge you to use their website. They also charge you extra to cancel. AVOID AVOID AVOID
I cancelled my subscription and Dreamstime just kept charging my credit card and when I called to correct they were rude and blamed me for not calling before. There are many more options with more ethical performance.
Just one of those "It was in the fine print" BS websites. There's even a FEE FOR CANCELING A FREE TRIAL.
Customer service is quick.. as in quick to basically tell you to f**k off.
Thank you Dreamstime for the colossal headache. #shutterstock
A 'business', and I use the word very loosely, entirely without scruples. Misleads potential clients with a free trial and then charges them! Misleading Language and Layout. Poorly Designed and Poorly Coded. (It even takes multiple payments! Very unethical as it is so easily avoided.) Will be reporting to Federal Trade Commission. Criminal. Scam. Dishonest. Lies.
High level of sales. Pleasant deductions. Shutterstock competitor. It's nice to deal with such a microstock as an author.
Great service! Convenient and practical interface. Clear and favorable conditions! Detailed statistics! I love it!
I researched other stock websites, as a small business I could not afford them. Dreamstime fits in my small budget and I also like the Dreamstime lets your unused credits roll into the next month. That is very helpful, some months I need more images that other months. I always find what I need and often get ideas from images from my searches. I have use Dreamtime exclusively for several years because I've never had the need to go elsewhere, and I can be very picky. Keep up the good work Dreamstime!
I'm using exclusively Dreamstime as stock photo maker and is a great site to valorise your work and have a very good interface that improved lately.
Being an exclusive contributor. Dreamstime is the best stock vector website. I am very happy to work with Dreamstime.
I just discovered a long standing reoccurring charge from this site for no value delivered. Their business model appears to depend on customers who do not notice the potential for these charges when signing up and are then charged monthly for a service they are not using. My advice would be to steer clear.
If one service is really free, also as trial, it has no need to ask you any subscription with a payment method. In short, a swindle!
Now, few words for all the 'disinterested people' that had given 5 stars & outstanding reviews: aren't you ashamed, defending the 'work' of this 'gentlemen', to let so many simple people lose time, money and nervousness?
Lack of clarity should be severely punished by the law. There are a thousand more correct and elegant ways to make money with Internet.
Keep away.
A very promising business for the future and I hope to achieve success with Dreamstime, by working together in a professional and fun way
I use images for the covers of self-published books. They area personal choice and different from those usually to be seen on book covers in the genres that I write in, under my pen-name Jan Vivian.
I took advantage of a week's free trial and downloaded five images I thought I could use for a project. ALL the images still had the Dreamstime watermark on them, so they were useless. Around the same time, I found a few video clips that I would like so I got a small subscription for those... almost. The price quoted on the "Plans and Pricing" page suddenly doubled at the checkout. This is what I call a classic case of bait and switch
I would have been happy to pay for the photos I wanted if the site was trustworthy but instead they tried to pull a fast one. The free trial doesn't actually give you anything except watermarked sample images. There's no way you can trust that once you hand over money, they'll give you proper images. And then they make it difficult to unsubscribe. Disgusting.
If the industry standard is Shutterstock, then Dreamstime is right up there with them. I use this service instead of the competition because the user interface is just as intuitive and then some. 10/10 would recommend.
I've been using dreamstime now for over a year, it has helped the overall look of all of our marketing materials. There are so many images to pick from sometimes it can be hard to sift through all of them, but i've learned that having more keywords makes that job easier.
Using the claim to offer 5 free images-trial period, where the images are not usable at all, yet once you subscribe and give your credit card number. Don't offer free images and not give actual images. I ended up subscribing because they offered 1/2 off and I really need an image quickly. But this is the last time I'll search/use Dreamstime. I don't like being mislead.
