WARNING!
Every week they took money from my credit card, allthought I did not upload photos. I send them a message because I did not know what is going on. They did not response and autobilling continued! Now I know that I had joined in some kind of weekly renewing system. But they did not tell me that! They did not answer a word to me.
The photographs for sale at Dreamstime represent the best efforts of a lot of photographers who make very little money per photo and rely upon volume to make what could be considered, for the most part, mad money. Dreamstime treats its contributing photographers with both disdain and lack of respect. It deducts money from contributor accounts with no accounting as to why the money was removed, will not allow free discussion on the contributor message boards, chastises photographers who ask the wrong questions regarding photo refusals, and goes as far as to refuse to pay residual earnings to its contributors if they end their relationship with the company and have less than 100 dollars in their earnings. In essence they feel they can steal money from the people who allow them to stay in business. I wouldn't buy a single photo from these people. Any more than I'd buy clothes made in a sweatshop somewhere.
I've used many stock image sites over the years to get images for some of my "pet projects" (I'm not a heavy user) and really like Dreamstime site. On one occasion, I lost the image I'd downloaded months before and they allowed me to download again at no extra charge. Another time, I needed to get a bigger version of an image I'd downloaded about a year before and again they were great in allowing me to upgrade to the bigger image. As I say, I'm not a big user but I really like the site, the prices are reasonable and their customer service rocks.
