Dreamstime is my "Go-To" site for great images to use in my blogs, books, worksheets, and other publications. I find them to be easy to work with and helpful when I have an issue. Their cost is very reasonable for the high-quality images found on this site! I love them!
When I downloaded my first set of photos I was very pleased. The quality came through my printer. I then had photos that I was very happy with.
Signing-up for Dreamstime was difficult as I am from the "Pre-Computer Generation" and still believe the world would be better off without them.
Being an exclusive contributor, dreamstime is the best stock vector website.
The selection of graphics is excellent
I signed up last month on a video subscription and downloaded my first video.
The file was corrupt and didn't work. Customer service advise I try again via the downloads page which I did but it still didn't work.
I cancelled my subscription and asked for a refund. I encountered no resistance and the customer service person emailed last month to say that they would process a refund. I'm still waiting.
I wouldn't use this company if I were you - there are plenty of better alternatives.
Being an exclusive contributor, dreamstime is the best stock photography website in terms of their payouts, for i have never encountered any issues with receiving my payments.
However, the images sold on a subscription basis have lower earnings than the regular non-subscription purchases, which makes it a little slow to earn.
I wrote about how Dreamstime cheated in getting my credit card info. Now I find that this cheat they do is the same as a "subscription scam", which is to trick people into subscribing (via credit card), getting people to pay money on a monthly basis and making it very hard for people to cancel.
See this example: https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/craigsilverman/facebook-subscription-trap-free-trial-scam-ads-inc
What is described in the "free trial scam" article is the exact same method used by Dreamstime. Using the claim to offer 5 free images-trial period, where the images are not usable at all, yet once you subscribe and give your credit card number, it is very hard to unsubscribe and very hard to remove your credit card number.
This kind of scam is to lock you into a subscription, counting on your ignorance and/or reluctance to confront them and their false leader (free trial) funnels you into a monthly payment subcription (locking in your credit card).
When pushed, they will relent and remove your credit card information, but only when pushed (as most low-level criminals who don't want to be held accountable).
I was really upset to get tricked by Dreamstime. They clearly offered 5 free images in a 1 week trial period.
I signed up for the 1 week period.
No where did they say that the free images included watermarks.
I started to download up to 3 images and felt a need to check the images before downloading 5.
I checked the "free" images I downloaded and each one had watermarks all over them. The water marks were clearly saying "image downloaded under free trial..."
What garbage, I can get watermarked images from taking screenshots of the browser window!
== Cancellation of Credit Card Sign-up ==
They said at the onset we can go the "payment management page" to cancel any time.
Guess what, you will never find that "payment management page" link anywhere in your account or on their website!
They purposely keep it hidden. I had to go to Google and search their site to get some link I can use to access the "payment management page". I have seen this website setup before, where they want to make it very hard for anyone to delete accounts, remove credit card information, etc. They clearly want to keep you locked in.
==What was the purpose of this scam? ==
Simple, to get my credit card information, lock you in and hopefully get you to pay money to get images or at least, keep your credit card information to charge you monthly fees.
The "free" image is not free. A water marked image is not a free image. This whole free image offer and account setup is a scam.
The selection of graphics is excellent and the search / find is slightly better than good. Pricing is fair but I dont like the purchasing options.
"Free" subscription and then makes sure there's no way to delete your credit card details SCAM SITE.
Thanks for helping me with my shirt designing business by providing relevant graphics! It makes my experience as a graphic designer more profitable and fun!
But I forgot to take my free 5 images and thus found myself on a monthly plan which freaked me right out. So I cancelled everything, but then I got an email inviting me to
Sign up again at a lower fee. Which I did.
I like having ownership of the images I download.
There are a ton of nooks of Dreamstime I still have to explore, but the site works well, so it is going to be fun.
I'm pretty pleased with using this resource, it's comfortable to use and easy to upload. Everything is great! I try to improve my sales now, but The interface and support is a great one!
Yes, I am very happy to work with Dremastime. Since many years! Very good library of photos and illustrations, also video clips. I also appreciate direct contact with support. This is very important in today's virtual world. They are always at my disposal and very efficiently answer my questions and doubts.
We negotiate a very good contract - yes you can! All you have to do, is talk honestly, about your needs. Sometimes I can't find photos that interest me, but that's my creative thinking, and I can change the design - you can too. Dreamstime gives me a sense of 'safe' in creating projects. Thank you, and I will be happy to use their services further.
For the criticism of some statements here: Forgive me, but I do not understand the claims of some users. Do you want something for free and in premium quality? Sorry guys, but you can't do that. Let's respect our joint work. It is not Dreamstime duty to creates the image library, we create it. If something is not there, it is not the fault of Dreamstime! Understand this. Maybe it's your fault and you searching incorrectly? Dreamstime has a different selection of photos than the competition and it is very valuable to me. At least I have less chance that my project will not be similar to others.
Like others leaving reviews, I signed up for the 5 free images. They were watermarked images. Then I was charged for one month. What the hell? I downloaded (and used) one image. Then I was billed for a second month, and the credits from the first month were gone like a cellphone carrier, the credits don't roll over. Other sites like 123RF and Shutterstock are more reasonably priced and (depending on the plan) you have the credits until you use them.As it stands, I used one high-res image from Dreamstime and it cost $60... I could have downloaded dozens of photos from 123rf, and in the future I will...
It is shameful, I paid for 750 images and I could only download 264. They removed the 486 download they owe me and refused to refund me or add me 30 days more.
Go to Istock or Adobe Stock. Picture are better quality with a better custumer service.
They add you to an email list you never subscribed for. SPAM SPAM SPAM... Stay away
They SPAM all new clients and when you unsubscribe you've now verified your own email... STAY AWAY. LOOK HOW Many 1% Reviews. This company is a fake and the reviews are fake.
We have been satisfied with your quality of photos however, we wish there were more photos for Montessori education. We have been using your site for several months and almost exclusively use your photos for our weekly newsletters. Even though we are not required, I wish there was an easier way we could acknowledge the author of the photos. If we are not intentional at the time the photo is download to also obtain the author's credits we have to work harder to later locate who the author of the photo was. Also, we have to resize the photos for our website and newsletters.

As part of Better Business Bureau's Customer Review guidelines, a business has the opportunity to add comments or respond to your review. BBB has received a comment from Dreamstime.com, LLC regarding your BBB Customer Review submission.
The business stated:
You upgraded the subscription and therefore received a charge. The trial is for 5 WATERMARKED images only. We have refunded and removed the subscription for you.
Still not refunded... I will give it a few days,
You are free to download watermarked photos,,, useless... and then charged anyway.
This is a rip off. You can find watermarked images on google... and save yourself the $25 dollars.
They are just out to get your money. I am going to report this to the BBB, and any other online review forums. BUYER BEWARE
Update. Look at the BBB site and they have stated their refund policy, I was however changed my first months subscription on day 6 of my "7 Day Trial" I left a review on the Better Business site. I will keep your posted.
Be careful when you sign up! I thought I was only buying 5 images ( which I was not able to find 5 good imagines that would work for my business) But what I did not realize was - it was a monthly subscription for 5 images a month. I still have not found the images for which I paid 2 months. My credit only shows for 5 images yetI I was charged for 10 imagines. Very misleading. BE CAREFUL
The images are excellent for an editorial use, but i would like there will be more vector images. We have one year using it and we are at the second one.
