I am a contributor, and I had the best experience with them compared to other microstock sites, so I decided to be one of their exclusive contributor. They never failed a single payout since I started with them.
I like the service, helped me a lot in my like of work and the collections keep increasing and updated
Do not trust this website. The "free trial" charges you without asking permission. And the downloads you are allowed with the trial still have watermarks!
I regret not doing research beforehand. Never trust any stock image company that has a "free trial", they will charge you without notifying you.
The trial implies that you would get a free non-watermarked image. Instead you get a watermarked image and a $20 charge to your account for activating your free trial (which was NEVER mentioned at the start).
I signed up for free trial and right away without my written consent or warning I was automatically "upgraded" to a full subscription.
Don't waste your time and money and stay away from this SCAM
I intentionally stayed away from the subscription service. I opted to buy 11 credits for 1 image I wanted. After I made the purchase I'm sent a message saying the 11 credits will auto renew in 24 hours. I navigate deep into the account section and find where to turn this feature (which i didn't as for) off. The cancel button is like 50% grey while the "stay and play"is all green and "lit up." But I press cancel and intentionally remove my credit card details as i'm smelling a rat... Next day my bank calls me to confirm a few "Dreanstime" debits... firstly the legit 11 credits one... then two more obscure amounts that miraculously add up to the cost of 11 more credits! If they hadn't called me I would be none the wiser and I believe there are probably thousands of people out there that have been caught by this and have simply not noticed. So glad I caught on and also googled "Dreamstime" complaints and found many many people who have been tricked into subscriptions and been ripped off a lot more money than me... Stay Away they seem unapologetic in their dodgy ways.
I end up paying for a full month before my trial ended.
I got an email at 22:00 - Thank you for your purchase, 5 min later I got an email with an invoice.
Well, I am on the other side of the coin here, as a stock contributor not a buyer. Overall, I have had a good experience in dealing with Dreamstime. I worked hard for years submitting images and earned pretty good money. Sadly, nothing ever stays the same in life. My main guess is that the quantity and quality of micro stock photography available has increased, and combined with the subscription model has decimated my earnings. Anyway, I am sorry that so many of you find your free stuff not really free. Obviously Dreamstime need to clarify their "free" images deal. Dreamstime is a business after all and I love doing photography and actually getting paid for it. Someone once told me "There is no such thing as a free lunch"...
I don't appreciate being told that I would receive a free trial with 5 free images only to download images with water marks. Scam and extremely unprofessional.
Hate time wasting companies that think they can scam your email address and then ram a bill in your face. Go to hell.
As others have said -- avoid the "free" trial. Very misleading business and I unsuccessfully tried to have money refunded to me through customer service
I work in web building, and I was looking for superhero images on my usual stock photo subscription sites, but coming up empty. Went to Dreamstime, saw they had a free trial for 5 high-resolution images--what luck! Downloaded them, and they all have watermarks. I contact customer support and they say the free trial IS for watermarked images. If that's the case, what's the point of a trial? I can screenshot whatever I want, guys. Client already approved the images, so I'll buy them, but I'm not buying anything else. What a joke.
Customer service is absolute garbage. Incomprehensible conversations with non-English speakers. Also, the keymaster program is a big scam. Paid to have the equivalent of a 6 year old tagging my vectors. This company has absolutely no intention of competing with the big dogs. I think they're just hoping to be bought out one day because the site hasn't been modified in a decade. Still the same crap as the first day I used it.
I originally signed up for a free trial. I was supposed to get 5 images for FREE. Then I decided to change it up to 10. SOMEHOW, I was charged $103! When I called to straighten it out, she ARGUED with me and told me that she would refund some amount but that I would have to not use that last image that I downloaded. In MY opinion, I should have only paid $39 and received 5 images for free. Instead, I didn't get ANY images for free and paid for 15. Run, far and fast... there are other resources with better images and MUCH BETTER SERVICE.
My images disappeared from their site. No one contacted me first to let me know in advance why they were doing this.
I messaged them 4 time and eventually they responded saying I infringed copyright and removed all my images
The correct way would have been to contact me to say they were removing one image and ask for my input. If I was found to be at fault then either remove that one or all. I spent hours doing the keywords to get a good ranking
A scan of original slide is attached and a photo of it on my wall at home.
Now told them I dont want to use them any longer and going to just deal with Adobe who treat you with respect and sell a lot more of my images
AVOID DREAMSTIME
Terrible marketing gimmick! Signed up for the free trial (even had to input credit card details) which advertised that i could download 5 free photos. I downloaded my first photo and it was covered in watermarks. I downloaded another. Same thing! I emailed customer service and was told that I need to upgrade my subscription to a paying version to remove the water mark. I need these photos, but I will buy them somewhere else as I refuse to do business with a company with such shady sales practices.
It said free download before i had an account i made an account then it prompted me to pay for the "free" download
Thought I had cancelled my free membership, however they trick you into thinking you did! There are several questions afterwards, if don't answer them you account is still valid and they charge you! A little tricky on their part! Do not use this service! Most images not usable also!
