Hi all
April 15, 2022

Hi, I just want to tell my experience with DPD and let people know how bad is the service which they provide. So I found on eBay 4 alloy wheels with tires but the seller have just pick up only and because of that I use DPD the service COLLECTION door to door. I pay for the service I spoke with the seller and all was okay. Next day DPD take the 4 parcel and I wait for them follow day but surprise when driver arrive he have just 3 parcel instead of 4 and I ask him what happen and he said your parcel is in Cardiff by mistake, I said no worries I will wait tomorrow for the last parcel but from tomorrow is now 3 weeks :( I call them a minimum 10 times speaking with 10 different people all told me different stories. Unprofessional and I feel like they don't care about customers because one of the people told me to investigate myself what happen with my parcel :), after that I apply online and tell the problem and when I call again they told me maybe I will receive 50£ after finish investigation, price of alloy wheels was 260 for all, so no even 65£ for 1 alloy wheel but how I can find same model to buy another one. I told them I cannot use 3 alloy wheels 17" and one 19" is impossible and they said 'I'm sorry but this is the rule. I said just to keep the money and send it for charity. I hope someone can see my story and stay away from this company….

So today i was expecting a whole bunch of things, which I didn't get, which i needed, that's why I'm a prime customer with Amazon so I can have that option of getting my things quick, fast and in a hurry, but what ticks me off even more, is a lying freaking driver of a courier. Your driver has in my Amazon saying attempted to deliver. We have cameras in the building, so if he or she did attempt, I could pull up that CCTV camera for evidence! Your driver neither rang the outside door bell, nor my individual door bell at any point of time today. I got a delivery today no problem from another courier, who rang my door bell and delivered my parcel, but your specific driver didn't do so. Now tomorrow is the weekend, I normally have to be gone on weekends, so i don't even know if I'll get these things tomorrow, and if he or she will ring the door bell, or if they will say we attempted. Which they didn't. Because they didn't even knock on my door. So, though you may only see this message in 12 freaking hours, how about talking to your driver, and giving him or her a little bit of ethics training, because I'm quite upset with this. I was expecting this shipment TODAY, as i leave on the weekends! Or change the driver if they can't be honest! Neither did an attempt at 12:43pm today happen, because I've been here since this morning and haven't left. I never leave my home when i know I'm expecting something! So, tell your drivers not to attempt lying, because there's enough liars on this planet as it is, than to deal with lying companies too! Also give a proper phone number that we can talk on the freaking phone to a person, and not a machine, and asking us what our reference number is! That's quite shady to be honest, and on your online chat it asks for a reference number, I gave my tracking number which is the ONLY number i have, and it didn't accept that either, quite sneaky too!

DPD is a scam!
June 1, 2021

I was moving overseas in January and flew to Edinburgh just to pack up my stuff from my flat. DPD local took 3 boxes of literally everything that I own and I was later told that because of Brexit, it couldn't have been delivered but they picked it up anyways. After this, my parcels got lost and I have been begging them for months to find them. Two of the boxes came back but the third remained lost. Now, in May, they told me the third box had been found but since the parcel was damaged, it got "disposed of", after me writing to them every week for 6 months! Now they never answer my emails and I still haven't received any money from my claim. They also made me prove the value of whatever I was sending, even though they had collected the insurance money beforehand without mentioning this "proof of value" requirement anywhere obvious. This box contained personal things that meant a lot to me that I couldn't bring on a plane.
DPD kept lying to me about what was going on with my parcel and that they will reach out to me but they never did! I also submitted a 100 page PDF with invoices for most of my things that I had purchased online but they returned it saying they need more supporting evidence. I had to reach out to support again via the live chat to have that changed. They keep telling me to be patient and that the claim will take time because "it's high value", yet they threw my stuff in the bin (or so they say), for whatever reason, knowing full-well that I am looking for it. It actually never left Scotland.

I've used them before and my parcel arrived broken with half the stuff missing and they didn't even allow me to make a claim.

Avoid at all costs!

Used DPD local UK to ship goods from UK to Portugal (Parcel **************). Goods were last seen in their warehouse, only reachable by their staff, yet went missing. After a 2-month dispute with their staff, they offered around 20 GBP compensation and later around 50 GBP, out of the approx 2000 GBP original value of the goods. Calling costumer support over and over, with photos of the package being delivered to their driver, I kept being forwarded to useless staff asking me to call/contact someone else. Package was finally tagged as "delivered" on their website (yet was never delivered), and everytime I'd call I'd hear "Sorry it's been delivered". After posting this review, DPD contacted TripAdvisor who contacted me several times to show proof of what I had written. And so I did. Review stayed published, yet it's now gone, so I'm reposting it.

Long story short: dont use DPD since they don't keep an eye on your goods while in transit, and if they are lost or stolen by their staff in their warehouse, you get NOTHING! Zero liability. Costumer service will exhaust you with politically-correct useless business chit chat.

PS: there are a bunch of TrustPilot pages for DPD and DPD local with way more negative reviews (90% 1-star reviews), get the real picture by searching for the "DPD local" profiles on TrustPilot.

Since the beginning of October 2020 this company has lead me on one of the most frustrating, elongated and hellish customer experiences I have ever found my self in. Their customer service platforms filled with people who just process complaints and you may as well be speaking with an automated service as they just follow the script, leaving you to repeat over and over again as you are passed from customer service rep to rep. We are in Jan 2021 and I still don't have my packages, a full refund or any clear answers to what is going on. The best I was offered is an empty apology and a £10 credit. I'm at the point now, where I just want my packages back and can close this most horrible experience behind me. Never again will I use this company, save yourselves and stay clear.

I did get back in touch with you, Steph and did not get a response. So I contacted the online support, again, and was passed around between multiple reps. Some abruptly left the chat in the middle of discussions, in which case I was passed to someone new whom I had to repeat and explain the ordeal over again. It seems my packages have been lost a 3rd time and now I need to provide evidence that I did not receive them, not sure how that works. It's not like I have anything better to do, let's say a full time job and family, than endlessly speak with you lot.

Update 20th Jan 2021: I have been told that my packages are lost due to the nature of the business. I was asked to provide proof of purchase and value of the items. I cannot provide this as these packages are monitors from my work place. Apparently there is nothing DPD local online can do if I cannot provide these documents. So in the end I am out of pocket on the delivery as well as the monitors which I need to reimburse my company for. Thanks dpdlocal truly you are the worst amongst the worst.

I booked a parcel with drop off but QR code was not generated so it will not be accepted by the drop off point. There is no number for DPD that I can call. I had 2 parcels that were supposed to be picked up on Tuesday, no one showed up or gave me a call; it was re-booked for today (by P2G) - no one showed up again. I cancelled that order through P2G and ordered directly through DPD website. Code was generated for one parcel but not for the second one. Now I have NO OPTION to switch to printing the label at home or to regenerate the QR code. None of the numbers for your customer service is working, I've been trying to get through since yesterday. The online chat is not working. Nothing is working - just the payment system to send money to DPD for the service that I failed to receive 3 times now!
THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE.
I PMd you the reference number. Once this issue with the QR code is sorted, I would like to make a formal complaint - please provide me with the details on how I can do this. This is unacceptable and there is no excuse to failing the customer 3 times with the same parcel!

What an absolute joke! Two failed collections, useless customer service staff, one rude driver, and another driver who updated his notes lying, stating the items were not ready for collection. Third scheduled collection, and the driver collects the 8 parcels.

Tracking confirms that they have been received and have arrived at my local depot. But suddenly, all tracking information disappears so I called them.

Lie No. 1 - We have not received your parcels
Lie No. 2 - Tracking confirms that we have received 2/8 so we have to send the 2 parcels back to sender. (Sender is based in Dorset and I am in Preston)
Lie No. 3 - Depot have updated the notes stating that the parcels are not fit for transportation so they are being returned to sender. (I have images of how they were dispatched - bubble wrap/parcel tape/cushioned parcel wrap/shrink wrapped) Sender was nearly 300 miles away - and the parcels could be transported back there but they couldn't transport 6 miles to my home!

By this point the telephone No. On the App no longer worked. I had to go via their chat, they said they couldn't help and...

Lie No. 4 - The return had already been processed.

Having had enough, and despite being told I couldn't due to COVID - I drove to the depot. I spoke via intercom to a member of staff, I explained the situation and the next minute they appear with a piece of paper in hand. He explains to me that they do have my parcels on a pallet in the warehouse and that I could drive around and collect.

When I got there, all 8 parcels were perfectly packed! I asked the staff member why they were being sent back and he stated that they do not transport chairs! I put CHAIRS in the description. To make matters worse, their Customer Service Department started to quote Terms and Conditions to me in relation to packing of parcels and that they wouldn't cover loss of the items which were being returned to a vacant property!

Credit to the staff at the Preston Depot - but as for the DPD as a business, you are crooks and I will be taking this matter up with trading standards.

I will never use again - you deserve to go out of business!
