Regularly loose stations you are paying for. Haven't had ABC sports for 2 months. Paying for local channels and DVR and for Joeys that don't give me what I'm paying to receive. TERRIBLE. AVOID
I would give Dish a negative rating if I could. We called to get a third line in our finished attic. The tech wrote in notes that we had a third Joey installed in our attic which was a lie. We didn't realize it. We were ripped off $200 + for a third Joey we did not have. They refused to return the money they stole from us. Watch yourself if you go with Dish Network. They take no responsibility for stealing and scamming money from customers.

Dish keeps going up in Price while cancelling channels that they offered when you signed up. Dish just says "channel no longer available" BUT offer no type of refund. What a rip-off!
We completed our 2 year contract, called to cancel and get return box, lady on phone talked me into a 2 month review, after which we could cancel. I foolishly agreed, and then this dishonest company was hacked. We bought a smart tv and were glad to save $100/month. This was 1 year and 9 months ago, Dec 2021. Now they are coming after us for over $300 for equipment rental and service which we have not had.
If you want to quit they charge you like $ 50.00 per month until your contract ends. They don't tell you that until you get mad of their bad service.Every morning you need to have luck that your service has connection if not you need to unplug the system UNTIL you get connected.If you want to watch movies on YouTube it gets frozen all the time,the excuse is your wifi. I check the same movie in my iPad and it's normal. You sign you got stuck.
I have been with Dish Network for over 12 years. I had to cancel last January because I couldn't afford it no longer. The representative decided in his best interest to put my account on hold for 6 months, after I stated I did not want that just to send me a box to ship back the receiver. Well then they began pulling money out of my bank account months later without telling me. I tried to cancel again and they said I had to pay this big bill and I refused. Asked for my money back and they finally agreed and now a few months later just found out they did not cancel or send me my money back. Now I have an even bigger bill. This has been the Hardest thing I've done trying to get this company to reburst my money after it should have been canceled in January 8 months ago when I called. So do not sign up for Dish waste of time and Money!
I switched from Direct TV to DISH two months ago and it's one of the worst mistakes of my life. I switched because Direct TV lost the NFL Ticket to You Tube and DISH had what I wanted, FOOTBALL. They installed a Hopper II in my house and most of the time I can't even get a signal to my TV. Worst of all, when I start to watch football on the NFL Ticket, the Hopper II shuts down everything and I lose TV for the rest of the afternoon. DO NOT BUY DISH! It's a RIPOFF!
I have been with Dish for 8yrs and today I saw on a commercial that customers can get the Canelo fight for free with a code and I called and they did research and came back to tell me that it was just for new customers I read the fine print and it did not say only for new customers they tried to give me a discount for a month on a service and that's already a promotion going on and I pay $121 for 1 Hopper n 1 Joey and they offer a $50 dollar discount for the fight that's $85 I would still need to pay $35 for the fight on top of the $121 of my bill and the rscaltion team agent said that it was like any new phone service where you get a free iPhone when you get new service and most companies for cell phone give the same promos for existing customers as new customers bad comparison when I asked for a supervisor he said they don't do that they don't transfer to supervisors and they would rather me cancel my service and sign up with new service to get promo that's the worst experience I've ever had with dish seriously considering canceling my service and getting new company so disappointed in dish
Dish owes me over $1400. That thry. Barged yo my card after I moved and discontinued service. I am a widowed elderly handicapped woman who has been taken advantage by Dish. I finally got someone to stop charging my card and now they only want to refund me a small portion of what they charged. I asked for a box yo return their receiver and they at first said they would send one after a year of requesting it. Then fish called and told me not yo bother, that they would send someone by in a few days yo pick it up. On Sunday, someone text me at 7:45 am that they were on their way. I was going to church with my 96 year old mother and didn't notice the text. The person came to my apt and sat for over an hour in front. My landlord was alarmed and tried to call me. He took pictures of the man's license plate which was out of state. Dish never had any problem with my payments and contract, no reason for this behavior. I have been taken advantage of. If you are a senior, look out for Dish! They lie and steal! Who ever heard of coming to your home early on a Sunday morning and stalking you!
Dish said I needed a OTA so I bought one and this thing is a piece of junk. My signal keeps fading in and out. I've called customer service twice and they say they fixed it but it only last a day or two can't wait until my contract is up so I can get a more reliable service. It's my fault for trying to get a cheap TV subscription and it's showing
Since August of 2022, Dish has increased my cost by $61.85 per month. This is absurd! Especially, because many channels have been removed. Dish won't pay the networks asking price, so the consumers lose the channels. I also had to put a claim in because during install, their rep damaged my solid oak (6) panel door with her ladder. She knew what she did and just left without completing the install. Very bizarre. The customer service line always drops when you call in. This company is going downhill quickly.
The refer a friend proof a lie. The get outa making their part right by lying. I have the proof. They had to replace my equipment that was ( according to service technician) way outa fate and obsolete. Straight crooks
Due to health problems, I won't be needing TV anymore. So I wanted to cancel my Dish account. They make it incredibly difficult. First, you can only cancel by calling the cancellation center at *******769 during the day. It used to be open 24 hours, but not anymore. I called three times. The first call was on 9-11-23. After entering my account number and security code, I waited on hold for 46 minutes. So I tried again later in the day, on hold 2 hours 11 minutes. I tried on 9-12. Just left it on speakerphone for 3 hours 26 minutes. Tried again on 9-13, on hold for 52 minutes. Tried again on 9-14, on hold for 3 hours 11 minutes. About went out of my mind listening to the music over and over. Tried again today, on hold for 32 minutes, and got through! The operator tried very hard over and over to get me to not cancel. I was super nice to her as I was terrified if I got angry she'd hang up on me. I told her about my cancer diagnosis, pancreatic cancer, given two months to live. She still tried for about 20 minutes over and over to talk me into keeping DISH. Finally, she said she'd send me the boxes to send back the equipment which they are charging me $20 for. It's insane. It was the single worst customer service experience of my life. ALSO, it's important to know, I called customer service at their none cancellation number, and twice I got through to a person in under four minutes. Each time I spoke to a supervisor begging for help and they said there was nothing you could do, just call the cancellation line. Also I tried contacting on Twitter and Facebook, same deal, no help at all. It's disgusting that this corporation feels it can treat people like this. They are doing everything they can do try to get you to give up in attempting to cancel.
We had a new roof put on our house and called to have the dish reinstalled. We were told it would be a minimum of three weeks but we could call back to get an earlier time. We called every 2-3 days three times and they could not give us an earlier date. In the meantime we were told to use the Dish Anytime App. First our fire stick was 'out of date' and we needed a new version to download the app. They could send us a new fire stick free of charge but it would not be delivered until the end of October. Not helpful! We were able to install the dish app on our iPad. However, we ran into so many issues on a daily basis trying to watch shows. The app would freeze, episodes would stop half way and show a black screen and we are also unable to get local channels. We are now approaching the three week point and we are EXTREMELY frustrated. At this point we are considering switching to another provider. When speaking with customer service they were very not helpful and could not provide any other solutions. They passed my call onto many different department all of whom were not able to solve our problems. I have not been so dissatisfied with a company's customer service. We were not given any compensation to make up for our trouble either. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Do not sign up for Dish Network unless you want your local channels and others removed without warning!
Dish makes a lot of money on us customers each & every month so just pay the higher fees for our local channels and other lost channels, that's being a good company for there customers,
My Dish contract is up and will not renew it and possibly leaving Dish, with many dropped channels they are still charging us the same. There are too many other options out there.
Tried to cancel service for 5 days five different times of the day and night. Kept on hold for over 45 minutes each time. Tried using chat online and was told had to call to cancel service. Finally stopped my automatic payment and shipped equipment back to El Paso, TX in my own box. Will not be paying anymore bills for this service.
Dish is a company that doesn't care for customers, their Hopper 3 is just garbage, you get caught in a contract for several years and you can not even see live TV., their customer service is a joke, Hope, (that was her name in tier 2) says there is nothing she can fo to fix my service, imagine if the higher technical support doesn't want to do their job, who can help you then? Go with Comcast Xfinity or other serious and solid company that actually provides service to their clients.
I know all satellite TV is expensive. Please explore ALL OTHER OPTIONS! Signing up for Dish Network was the easiest thing we have probably ever done. After paying for it for over a year, we decided that we never watched the dish, we used mostly streaming. Trying to cancel it was like trying to write a thesis in one night. 57 minutes on hold. When John finally came on the phone, he just wouldn't give up. He kept telling us that he had to wait for an agent for him to move forward with the cancellation. He wanted to know the weather, 5 times he asked us what we liked about dish, now he wanted to offer us a reduced priced package. We told him SEVERAL times that we don't watch TV, to please cancel. Finally, after 1 hour and 20 minutes, asking our address again, he said he was shipping return boxes to us. Now we will see if we get them. Oh, and they offered that greatly reduced package if we stayed but charged full termination fee because our 2 years wasn't up. Be careful people. TV isn't worth it.
Answer: Because it sounds great to have 1200 channels even if 1195 channels are nothing but infomercials, most people like me think wow I will have so many movies to watch I might have to record 5 while I watch 1 but after you get your 1200 channels you realize most every movie you would like to see can only be viewed if you pay an extra rental fee, another huge disadvantage to satellite tv is the frequency of commercials and the time the commercials are shown, regular tv used to be a 2 minute commercial break, dish network and directv have over 5 minute commercial breaks
