The gimmick is that you'll get better service. Unfortunately with add on fees, higher coats, and very poor service, they are no longer worth your time! Buy your tires at tire rack shipped home, and have local Joe install, or whoever you can actually get in with. Waiting 5+ hours for an appt that keeps getting extended, if you can get an appt at all, is too frustrating. Multiple locations, multiple visits this is what happens...
Took my vehicle in to see if I needed tires. Customer service person came out and checked with his tire tread meter. He said meter indicated that I needed tires right away. I went home to discuss with my wife. Since I bought tires at Costco we decided to take there for evaluation also. Costco checked and said we had a lot of tread left and no need to change tires! In fact Costco said most likely will not need for another year at current usage level. Will never go to disinformation Discount tire again and strongly recommend always check with a more honest tire place for everyone.
To begin with: Discount Tire is a misnomer. If you're looking for a "discount" you certainly WON'T get it there. I needed tires and I really felt that I was taken advantage of. Discount Tire was the only shop that had what I was looking for and they took advantage of me. Not only was I charged full retail price for the tires but I was also charged for: Certificates for Refund (whatever that is), Waste Tire Disposal and Installation which added an additional $215.92 to my bill. As I said, they had me and I was taken advantage of. Used! Worked over! I'm not a happy customer. I won't go back.
Horrible feeling to realize you have been tricked into buying tires and rims you did not actually need. Sales person insisted "Rim was corroded" turns out it is a common trick to get customers to believe they need something they don't and rim corrosion is often easily fixed. Plus they failed to honor the warranty on my previous tires due to their people not properly putting my information in their system. Burden of proof the tires were under warranty was placed on me, When I did produce proof they give me run around and try to justify to me they gave me discounts. Not satisfied at all and will never do business with them again, Get a sam's membership and go there, they actually include road side assistance and actually honor the warranty.
I had a flat tire took it and waited 2 1/2 hours they told me it was fixed all they did was add air to it they didn't even attempt to fix it. I could've done that in 15 minutes. If that's how they treat you after the sale I personally will never use them again beware
Had to get four new tires for the truck. Shopped around and their price was just as good as everyone else. They ordered the tires they came in next day. I dropped the truck off and they were done in about an hour. I would give them five stars but they one thing that needs to be done when you get new tire... wheel alignment. Front and back. How can you sell tires and not have the ability to offer a wheel alignment service? Overall they were very courteous and a very quick service turnaround. I'll go back for sure.
To set definitions straight, "Lifetime Warranty" mean the normally expected life of a tire. The people have all been professional, honest, knowledgeable and efficient to the tune of saving me from grief, stress and unnecessary expense. I was impressed when the manager last week solved a tricky problem. I bought a used 2011 Honda Fit Sport with the low profile tires that caused a bumpy and jarring ride. For a fair price he replaced the 16" rims with 15" rims and the tires with higher sidewalls. That smoothed the ride tremendously without affecting normal handling.
First of all I'm disable, on 6/3/22 I went to have my tires looked at because one of them that I had patches kept needed air and my mechanic said it could be causing my truck shaking and pulling to the right. Jason the manger at the bourbonnais IL store was very unprofessional with his tone, while I the customer was trying to explain my concern. Won't be buying anymore tires from them. Also, they don't want to cover your warranty when you need new tires. Buyer Beware!
Discount Tire is my go to for all things tires for my Audi. Yes there prices are over the top but I stop in to get my air checked and DT is just conveniently located near me. The manager Adam at the store located off the Sam Houston Tollway is just one of those guys who takes care of the customers. He does the research for the prices at other competitors and gives you sound advice on your purchase. I never have to go anywhere else because the whole team takes care of my care needs. Thanks, Adam and Ben they made sure this teacher left with great tires and not a empty hole in my pocketbook.
Made two appointments on the same day for two different cars. Avoid walk-ins and make an appointment if you want fast turnaround. The most efficient and professional operation I have seen for tire installation. Their service and tire selection far exceeded my expectations. Very competitive pricing and was out the door in just one hour! A very happy customer!
Does Discount Tires try to replace everyone's windshield wipers when you buy tires? Just asking because two salesmen tried to do so on my tire purchase.
I've been to two discount tire locations since they have expanded in florissant mo and Arnold mo both times I was greeted before I stepped foot in building lol but very serious they were fast polite and knew what they were doing thanks I'll always do business with discount tire
My recent visit to discount in Aurora when very well! The Usual tire rotation and follow-up and
"Houston", she was very cordial, friendly and professional. Then when my car was ready
(not very long at all!) Tyler came over and went over everything, handed my keys and said
Have a good rest of your day and "Thanks" for coming in today. Awesome
Thanks Houston & Tyler!
Mr. Pinkney
In over 30 years. My family n I never in my lifetime ever got charged for a rotation or a balance when they did that together. But if discount tire is going to charge me for an rotation fee I'll take my business elsewhere. What happened to the people that used to work there
4-11-2018. The only thing I needed during this visit was to have my tires aired up. They told me it would take less than 3 minutes and it did. That would have been great except the employee didn't take the time to check or ask how much air my tires take. So when I drove off, I still didn't have an adequate amount of air in my tires. I had to go air them up myself. I won't go to this location again on Penn/Memorial in Oklahoma City.
It's awful funny that when I purchase something I get great customer service but when I come to any discount tire in Omaha Nebraska for a free air pressure check it's always a hassle. You can completely tell that the staff hate the free air pressure checks. You almost feel guilty getting your air pressure checked at the same place you purchased your Netto tires for your Honda Civic type R. Why even have the service if your employees managers or anyone else hates it and your customers feel guilty because of your staff. Not to mention when you do weight and fill the burden of the staff it usually takes 10 to 15 minutes. Just ridiculous- give yourself a break and stop the service that you don't want to provide anyway.
Warranty crap, changed road hazard warranty even on previous warranty, cost me 259. To replace tire with screw in it, warranty had expired because they changed it, warranty should stay the same as when you by it, not change cause they want to, so wrong, will not send my friends to discount tire.
I had $10,000 in credit with 13 years history and they closed my account without warning. No reduction or email. Reason... inactivity. I had a balance when they closed it... sounds like I used it to me. I was the most loyal discount tire user. Always bought my tires there and recommended others to do the same. NO MORE.
Not a good idea to buy online their website showed us four wheels and tires that were available and then after we paid with PayPal over $1000 we were a few days later told that none of the product was in stock and they didn't know when they could get it and we needed to come into the store to get a refund and stand in the holiday lines with pandemic issues even though we paid online with PayPal. No one ever othered the words we are sorry or we apologize,
I purchased a set of tires for my 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 and the next day my low pressure light came on. I wasn't able to go back until a few weeks later. When I did go back I had the pleasure of working with a young lady named Stephanie. I wasn't happy about the 2.5 hr wait so I came back the next morning and thankfully I was able to work with her again. She personally checked my pressure both days and checked my sensors the second day. Long story short it was just a bad stem, but her service was right on point. Not to mention she's real easy on the eyes. I appreciate all of her help.
Answer: Price and price alone. You pay for what you get. No service, no resolve, no customer care, and no truth to their word.
Answer: I made an appointment online in the morning and had tires rotated that afternoon.
