They were great helping me get my helmet replaced after the face shield stuck closed.
There was a shipping problem with FedEx but Cycle Gear was right on top of it. They contacted me, let me know there was a problem. Reordered my purchase and got it right to me. Excellent customer service. They were proactive and reached out to contact me.
Jacket is good. However there is a foul smell (sweat like smell) coming from the jacket.
I hung it to air dry for a couple hours but the smell is still there when you bring the jacket close to your face. Not sure if it was a returned item from someone who rode in it.

The jacket for is adjustable so it is flattering and the waxed denim is nice looking. The integrates hoodie is useful for keeping warm and the fit is generous. Maybe not I'd use for winter but a great fall or spring choice.

Local cycle gear store didn't have ability to mount tires as website stated which created a headache to come up with another plan. Alternatives were much more expensive - probably wouldn't have purchased the tires through cycle gear if that was the case.

I ordered my new helmet from Cycle gear because I had no opportunity to try it on in store. While many places have no issue with returns, I have a cycle gear store near me and if I didn't like the fit of the helmet, returning it would be easier than return shipping.

My $700 jacket arrived used and coverd in pet hair. The in-store sales people where great and did everything in there power to make it right. Promised a replacement and got Cycle Gear to comp next day shipping on a replacement along with a decent promo discount. Now the bad part. That was July 2nd. It is now July 7. I still have yet to receive my replacement jacket. Pretty upset at this point.

The helmets were nice but one helmet did not fit right and the other that fit had a defective sun visor. We returned to the store. 3 stars for helmets, 5 stars for service.
It was time for a new helmet. Decided to go to cycle gear in Redwood City. Met Eddie who was very patient and knowledgeable. Went through all the possibilities with different brands. Decided on the new to the market alpine stars R-10. Waited a week as i monitored its location in shipping all the way from Kentucky. Took like a week. Upon knowing it had arrived I went to pick it up.
Here's were it gets interesting. The box was brought to the counter from the back
It was an open box. Someone had this before and returned it. Missing packaging reinforcement inside/ paper tags detached.
Nevertheless I examined and tried it on.
Seemed to be ok and luckily seemed to fit.
I had waited long enough and just didn't want to go through re-ordering it. Bought a tank bag while I was there and came home with my new helmet
Looking at the alpine stars web site I saw that I could have ordered it directly from them as it showed in stock

Lots of options. Already tested out my new Sedici riding pants, and it kept me from receiving any damage to my backside when I slid 40ft. After washing the pants you can hardly even tell.

I was told to order a 2x helmet. Iusually wear a 1xl. I was told I could return it if it was too small and buy a 3xl. There is no 3xl, I had to go elsewhere.
Answer: Your local dealership will almost inevitably be superior to CycleGear, in every respect. The reason for that is your local dealership will cease to exist if they don't offer their customers the service, support, and products that they are looking for. You might not find it on the shelf right then, but every dealership has the ability to order in what you want and they will price it fairly, because they know that you can go elsewhere. These internet retailers need to be put out of business, by us. All we have to do is shop locally.
Answer: There's nothing legit about the website. They have stores in many different cities around the US, but their customer service is almost as bad in-store, as it is from their corporate call center and internet department.
You can return your purchase within 90 days. In order to qualify product must be in new, unused/uninstalled condition. All original packaging and tags must be included. Returns with ordinary wear and tear or damage caused by improper use or accidents will not be accepted.Returns will be refunded to the original form of payment once the items have been received and inspected.
