The local shop is the next town over for me so they're close and it's nice to have staff on site who know what they're talking about, especially for new riders like me. They've been incredibly understanding and helpful to an older guy throwin a leg over a bike for the first time in a couple decades. Cannot recommend them enough!
It would be nice to have more product selection in physical stores. Buying a $450 leather coat without trying it on first is always a little dicey. I bought this in two different sizes and neither fit right (I did use the fit guides). Return process was fine; just wasted $20 is all.
Cover is decent, say has a lifetime warranty so we will see. Thin and easy to install. Seems more general fits for many machines. With supplied strap cover doesn't stay very secure on my HD7. Will serve its purpose.
The delivery was 3 days late and tracking did not work. When the boots were received I noticed a cut on the side of one and scuff marks, soles were also slightly worn. So this must have been a damaged and used return, not good as they were advertised a new! Only conciliation is they were 50% off and I do like the boots.
Pretty efficient, tires look good, only downside is the date code showed they are 18 months old
Gave Cycle Gear a try after some years of using different online vendor. Tried Cycle Gear due to a location near me after I moved. Shop online for ship to store and pickup there just a few miles from residence. $570 slip on. At store I'm given an open box with torn open installation hardware bag and missing hardware. No explanation in store or later inquiry with customer service via emails. $570 part should be new, unopened, factory fresh and 100% intact all parts listed as included. So, my first and last experience with Cycle Gear. Will go back to previous vendors. Somewhere in the order pick, ship and dispense there is a problem. Warehouse, shipping carrier or store personnel, don't know.
Tried in store but was ignored. Online was easy assuming fitment detail turns out to be accurate.
I ordered online as I can search thru assortment of products at a glance and comparing them with others that have been reviewed, by other buyers as sizing is different with brands. Overall it been a great experience I recommend.
Great to shop when local stores don't have items in stock.
Went into the store, they helped look up the high tensile strength chain from Vortex in a kit for my Suzuki. We ordered it and it arrived at my house 3 days later. Went on well, already cut to the right length, with the right rivet style link and a nice design rear spocket.
Everything came as expected and on time. Communication was great from the delivery side. Winnie store had more inventory in hand so I could walk away with it that day. Found the same product cheaper online with free delivery. I pains for delivery and had to wait a little bit longer. Overall I can't complain about it.
As the other reviews said: Order one size larger than you normally wear. The heels will be loose." I have a fix for the heel issue.
I bought self sticking corner seals for doors at home depot. They work great. You may have to layer them. My heel fits perfectly now
Went into the store hoping to try on boots, but they didn't have the style I wanted. They ordered it for me & it got here quick. Unfortunately the boots rubbed on my ankle so I had to return them. So far it's been fairly seamless
I bought a pair of gloves from cycle gear with some member and rpm bucks that were shipped. They were too small (not their fault). Cycle gear gave me a no cost return label. I ordered the next size up at full cost as replacements, they fit. As soon as my return was accepted- I've got the credits showing for my next order!
My shopping experience was unbelievably disappointing. I've never met a more uncaring and mindlessly lazy group of salespeople. They are totally unappreciative. They were no help whatsoever, and I spent over $1,200 dollars because I needed the gear. Their help was minuscule and uncaring. It was an awful experience. What more can I say?
I've ordered items from Cyclegear in the past and have always been satisfied with their service and shipping. Nothing has changed with this last order experience. They have the goods and get it to you quickly. Every time.
You always have what I'm looking for. I enjoy the great selection and shipping is quick. Awesome job!
Went to store tried on jacket and pants. Purchased the jacket from store but ordered pants online because store didn't have my size. Fits good. The kneepads are I bit low is the only issue but I just pull em up when I sit on the bike and they tend to stay. Good quality though. Dont expect it to fit like leather. It's textile mesh
All the employees at this Cycle Gear always go above and beyond especially the manager every time I order something the purchase an agent calls me and tells me it's in cannot ask for better service and the manager there is exceptionally smart when it comes to ordering the right parts
Shopped around, Cycle Gear had the best price. Delivery took a little longer than I expected, and the first time I called to get the tire mounted they told me 48 hours to do. When I went in a day later ('cuz I wanted to ride the day before) I was asked, "Can you wait 15 minutes?" If I would have known! Now I need to wait for another day to ride.
I loved the helmet, but the cheek pieces were way too tight. Could not wear it for five minutes, so I rolled the paperwork, slid it through the hole on the earpiece, removed both cheek pads.
Laid them flat on a table put a case of bottled water on them overnight,
Now the fit is great.
My half helmets are extra large,
The LS2 was XXLarge.
The $30 vs $60 mounting fee made the difference in buying two tires. However, I was shopping RevZilla and J&P too, and found out at my local Cycle Gear, they have the same Owenership. Why have three sites?
The staff at cycle gear really helped out with my ordering process. I live in an apartment, and they let me order everything directly to the store. It took 2 days to ship, and they even helped install some parts that i ordered. Very easy ordering process, barely take anything from me, they did all the work. Shout out to the cycle gear Austin Tx staff.
I saw the boots advertised for several consecutive days as the last pair in stock, and they happened to be my size. I hit the chat and offered to buy them at a further discount. Cycle gear agreed immediately, and shipped them out.
Answer: Your local dealership will almost inevitably be superior to CycleGear, in every respect. The reason for that is your local dealership will cease to exist if they don't offer their customers the service, support, and products that they are looking for. You might not find it on the shelf right then, but every dealership has the ability to order in what you want and they will price it fairly, because they know that you can go elsewhere. These internet retailers need to be put out of business, by us. All we have to do is shop locally.
Answer: There's nothing legit about the website. They have stores in many different cities around the US, but their customer service is almost as bad in-store, as it is from their corporate call center and internet department.
