I rarely buy anything I am going to put in my mouth without first checking ConsumerLab to see if they have tested it. I always look for their testing information and which brands have met their standards. I consider them a valuable resource!
I value your research, but those of us in the real world, like it or not, shop at Walmart, Target, Costco and other mass merchants. To be fair, you do include products from those stores, but not always. The pricing at the mass merchants is usually attractive, but the quality can be a mystery. I do buy some products off of Amazon that you recommend. Seems to me when you do a review, the first place you should head for would be Walmart and the others..
Thank you very much for sharing that, Mark. We are very glad that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support.
I count on ConsumerLab and can't imagine being without it. I trust your reviews and value the in-depth coverage which includes background, safety concerns, uses, recommendations, and ratings for the different brands of each product.
Thank you very much for sharing that, Pam. We are very glad that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support.
I have been a member of ConsumerLab for many years and consider the very reasonable yearly fee the best investment I can make for me and my family. If Consumer Lab hasn't reviewed the supplement, we simply don't buy it. We can buy with complete confidence the products reviewed and passed by this great laboratory. I recommend it to our friends as well.
Thanks for your feedback. We appreciate your support!
ConsumerLab has earned my trust by their responsible and thorough evaluation of products. I appreciate the huge amount of work they do to inform the public about products we use and depend on. An individual could not afford to do the amount of research and testing they do for us. If only the companies would be so honest in their advertising... Thank you ConsumerLab, you have saved me money, time, and worry.
ConsumerLab does testing on food supplements so that I know which ones contain what the label says and are not dangerous. They also compile information from many studies so that I can get the information that I need without having to spend hours checking out research.
Thanks for that nice review, Paul!
I have used ConsumerLab for years as a guide to taking supplements, targeting health issues that have been all too common in my family. At 71 years old I remain free of problems and am very healthy. A good diet, exercise and supplements have helped tremendously!
Thanks for you high praise of ConsumerLab.com, Dodie. We're glad to have you as a member -- and keep up the good work!
I really appreciate ConsumerLab for helping me choose effective products. I always check their reviews before buying any supplement. However, I'm a bit disappointed that most of the reviews focus on products available in the US, with only a few covering Canadian options. I'd love to see more reviews for supplements sold in Canada in the future.
Thank you ConsumerLab for making it possible to choose the right supplements.
Hi Des - Thank you for your review. We do test Canadian products from time-to-time (they are indicated with a maple leaf in our results table), but, as most of our readers are in the U.S., most of the tested products are those sold in the U.S. We will continue to purchase and test Canadian products. We also look to Health Canada for its regulations on natural health products, as they are often ahead of those in the U.S.
Before trying a new supplement I always refer to ConsumerLab for their review and comments on it. They always tell me if that particular supplement contains what the label states and if it's safe. I have been subscribing to ConsumerLab for several years.
ConsumerLab doesn't shy away from warning if a supplement is harmful. They are often referenced by other companies for their reliable work. They exhibit
Integrity in their presentations.
Thank you, Max! We are very glad to hear that our information is helpful to you. We appreciate your membership in ConsumerLab.com.
Love all the info! Great info on what each product does and has been verified to do as well as testing many products so I can be informed about whether or not I'm buying a good product. I would love for their test pool to expand a bit more though I do buy many products that I have seen in their reviews.
Thank you very much for sharing that, Ian. We are very glad that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support.
As a member, I'm able to look up products and find which ones are safe and that provide the correct amount of nutrients. Also they give all the information you could possibly need to make a decision on what products to buy
Thank you for that nice feedback, Audrey!
I have found that this site provides abundant information ( sometimes almost too much to absorb), specific product information and comparisons and important medical sources and reviews. It is extremely helpful in making decisions and understanding the impact of various supplements and I appreciate the breakdown of ingredients, amounts etc It seems a credible and trustworthy source of timely information!
We're glad that you are enjoying your membership to ConsumerLab, Kathy. Thanks for letting us know.
You alerted me to unacceptable levels of lead in a liquid magnesium supplement. Unfortunately, it was one of the few times I read your review after receiving the product! Never again! I now religiously review products on your site before I choose a product. You reviews have guided me to make what I believe are healthful & beneficial products. I recommend your website at every opportunity!
We are very glad that we have been helpful to you, Elizabeth! Thank you for posting about that, and for recommending ConsumerLab to others!
I've been a member for years. The work is trustworthy. I think there should be more range in products and brands surveyed. The website is a bit confusing to navigate. Otherwise, ConsumerLab has depth and substance and reliability.
Thank you very much for sharing that. We are very glad that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support. We will be launching a new website this year which will have many new features to search and navigate our information.
I subscribe to Consumer Lab and it is the best in my opinion. The way they test to make sure the vitamins and other items we consume contain what the label states is the primary reason I am a subscriber. They are very good at what they do along with telling you the pro and cons of the product, interactions of it and if it is safe. They also report on items that are recalled so I am aware of them.
Thank you for that nice review, Nancy. We're glad that you appreciate our work. Thanks for your support.
Your testing and reviews of supplements and food products have been an immeasurable help in choosing products which improve our health and are safe to use. There is no where else to find this information. The service you provide is crucial to our well being.
We're glad to have you as a member, Michael! Thanks for your review.
Consumer Lab provides accurate, detailed and timely information on a consistent basis. The information is thoroughly researched using scientific & medical sources. Recommendations are clear & specific. Listing the brand reviews is especially helpful.
We appreciate your review, Elizabeth! Thanks
I have subscribed for years and this is the only subscription I don't consider giving up. I take a variety of supplements and check the write ups often. My only frustration is the annual member survey of supplements used. It needs to be simplified. It is just too onerous to complete for multiple supplements. I would also like some focus on popular combo supplements - i. E. do they contain the level of ingredients claimed.
We're glad to have you as a member, Debbie! Thanks for your review. You can always feel free, as can any member, to shoot us suggestions and questions on products.
I've subscribed for as long as ConsumerLab has been in existance. I want to say 20 years? I've used it in teaching librarians how to research for consumer health information and even for medical professionals to do the same. Now I mainly use it to check everything and anything I may consider taking for my own or family and friends' health. Great information and excellent citation and verification processes. I'm very happy.
Thank you for that nice review, Diane. We're glad that you appreciate our work. Thanks for your support and for being a longtime member!
I've been subscribing to consumerlab for years. Most people are apparently unaware that supplements are NOT fda regulated. What's on the label may bear little or no relation to what's inside the bottle. When it comes to supplements, you really don't know what you're buying- and you may be buying things like lead or arsenic contamination. Btw a few months ago there was a story in the nytimes about the unreliability of vitamin supplements purchased from large, well known retailers. Consumerlab buys items through normal retail channels and sends them to independent labs to find out what's really there. An invaluable service.

Answer: There is no single best supplement or brand. It's best to focus on the type of supplement you are looking for, e.g., multivitamin, fish oil, probiotic, herbal) and read our Product Review for that specific category and see which product is our Top Pick for that category. Here is a list of our current reports: https://www.consumerlab.com/results/
Answer: Yes, we recently published a new report on turmeric and curcumin supplements as well as turmeric spice (ground root powders) at https://www.consumerlab.com/reviews/turmeric-curcumin-supplements-spice-review/turmeric/
