Do not use this company. Never return emails and when they do it takes days to week or longer, yet they'll continue to bill. Then refuse a refund even though the service was never used. I offered to provide proof and still refused me a refund. So they took 2 months service charges for not one bit of service to me.
I subscribed to a plan that would cost over $100 per month under false pretence promising me the help I was looking for. A few hours later I realized this service was in no way the help I was looking for. I called them right away to get my money back and they told me it would take up to 2 weeks. I called back after 2 weeks and they told me they are backlogged and that's why it's taking so long (not a good sign). It's been over 3 weeks and they keep telling me I will get my refund as soon as possible. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!
I WAS CONTACTED BY A CONSTANT REP, HE TOLDME TO TRY IT FOR A MONTH PROMISED ME THAT IF I DONT LIKE IT I WAS GOING TO GET MY MONEY BACK ASAP, I TRIED TO USE IT, I DID NOT LIKE IT AND REPLIED BACK TO THE EMAIL SENT BY THEM AND NO ANSWER, THEN I CALLED THEM AND THEY WANT PROOF THAT I WANTED TO CANCEL! FINALLY ONE LADY AGREE TO REFUND ME BACK AND TOLD ME THAT IT WILL TAKE ABOUT 2 WEEKS TO GET MY MONEY, NOW I RECEIVE AN EMAIL STATING THAT I WONT GET MY MONEY BECAUSE I DID NOT CANCELED PROPERLY! WHAT A SHAME! THEY SET MY CARD TO AUTOMATICALY CHARGE EVERYBODY WITHOUT TELLING US! THEY EXPECT US TO READ ALL THE 20K LEGAL PAGES, BUT THEY DONT SUMMARIZE THEM OR ASK US IF THAT IS WHAT WE WANT! THAT IS NOT RIGHT!
They like to take money without providing services and won't refund your money- very expensive and not worth it. Smug rude customer service attendant. Also sends you emails you cannot reply to when you try to cancel
They lie, cheat and do not honor anything they say. If you have any billing questions, you cannot chat or email with them. You MUST call them...there's never a paper trail (by design). So you are forced to call them with any billing issue. Whatever you agree on on these phone calls is ignored. Your bill remains the same, like no conversation ever took place.
Don't even get me started on their multi-factor login that works sometimes! Not to mention the barrage of spam phone calls I started getting right after surrendering my phone # to their multi-factor login.
They only got one star from me because that's the lowest but they're honestly a negative rating.

I noticed my bills were over $80 per month because they bill you to store contacts (ridiculous in today's day and age of low cost storage). After years with them, I called to cancel during work hours and have been on hold for exactly 1 hour and 10 minutes (see image below for proof as it's so unbelievable). The only way to cancel is to call them and they don't answer the phone. As a business owner, I don't have time for this nonsense...will never go back to them.
Paid my 90 something dollars and started on my ad. Difficult to understand but that is but a tiny part of this nightmare. Finished the ad and got ready to send my list. The site says it can not be reached. I text the support team, and that took 45 minutes. No help and they say I do not even exist as a client. Call and wait on hold for 3 hours and 17 minutes (I have a photo of my ohone time). GOD AWEFUL MUSIC plays as you wait. I finally talk to someone and they finally confirm it is me and then say they have to now connect me to the refund part. I am back in piano music hell, and will probably be another 2 hours. Just for a refund. Folks, RUN. This is a chicken S*** operastion with not many more than a single tech or office operator in customer service. Easily the worst company ever and god forbid if you need a refund or to talk to someone. You would be better off tryong to breach fort knox. So in closing, I am up to 6 hours to hopefully get a refund. I am on hold still. RUN.
When I called them, I was told I would be a full refund. Then they keep charging me $7.35 which was half the regular monthly charge. I called again, they said agreed to it. I told them I didn't. They said it was on tape. I asked to hear it. Since i know i didn't arrange with the charge. They said no. Hung up.
The contract never said the price would go up $20 after 1 month. The initial call was unclear and incomplete.
I spoke to Kathy in billing she hung up on me 2 times while I explained the situation.
Service is horrible. The Premium Plan comes with X2 "Onboarding Calls". Not sure where they get these REMOTE people that come up on the schedule but they are rarely present for the GOOGLE MEET meeting they set you up with and they claim to call you but don't. The sales people run you down to sale you then dissappear after you signup. They don't return calls! I believer the product is good but the service is HORRIBLE. I will be looking at other companies that do the same thing even if it's at a highrer price. I run a Financial Planning Practice and can't afford to kee wasting time with such poor and inept service and customer support
We've been with CC for over a decade and found them excellent for many years. Recently, there was a bug in one of their plug ins and we lost almost 3000 subscribers overnight. CC has told us they are working on it but they have no timeline to fix the issue and suggested we manually add the 3000 subscribers one by one in the meantime. This has been going on for 30 days and all they can say is 'we apologize for any inconvenience'. I feel with tens of thousands of customers they are now too big to be able to provide adequate customer service.
Do not use this company. To cancel your account you have to call in and I've been on the phone over an hour and no one picks up. I'm on the chat and they can't cancel they keep saying you have to call in. What a joke... This is a scam of a company that holds you hostage to be able to cancel ONLY by phone call. Save yourself the headache!
I would not recommend this business and suggest Mail Chimp or another competitor. You can only cancel by phone and it is impossible to get anyone to answer.
I talked to a salesperson and expressly mentioned being a developer that needed something that handles more than one site. I was told yes, we can do that. And they can, kinda. But if you want more than one pop-up (which is the main email grab on sites) they can only do one, on one site. When I wrote back after getting bullied into agreeing to a purchase so I could talk to the 'teams that handle developers' and then found out they only do one site, I canceled the next day. Their service doesn't work, and he knew it. So I wrote for a refund... been weeks, and no one will answer. They lie. Period. If you want to try them, good luck.
I wanted to test the free product. Set up an account. Within an hour I received a call from a high pressure salesperson. I explained I was doing a test mailing on 50 emails to evaluate deliverability with Constantcontact. He said, "Our Free program won't give you deliverability at all". I said - OK then I am done. Good luck. Since then I have been barraged - literally harrassed by telemarketers for this company. They also use spoof phone numbers and outside sales so it has been very aggressive and unwanted marketing. Steer clear.
Having to phone them to cancel is bad enough but making you wait for over 30 minutes (and counting) is insane!
I now use Hubspot as my CRM, it was nothing personal but just what I needed. I shouldn't have to be jerked around on hold to cancel my cc account and be grilled as to why. What a joke!
Constant contact is deceptive. You cannot cancel online, must call, and when I did, they had no record of it. Which resulted in them charging me for a yearly "subcription" without any services rendered. I called to cancel in June 2021, they said it was, so I trusted them. Subsequently billed for a total of $486! AND THEY WON'T ISSUE A REFUND! Even though I disputed the charge with their billing department. Horrible customer service, he gave me his name, "Jason", then I got a follow up email to take a survey for "Ivan's" customer service experience! I asked for a manager, he couldn't connect me, didn't know the manager's contact info, nor was it an option? I highly recommend to never use this company!
Where to begin: Live chat function disabled for tech support. Long hold times. Ridiculous robot asking the same question repeatedly. We paid our bills on time for over 8 years. $600 annual fee. Switched billing credit card and they froze our account. Terrible service. Run, don't walk!
I have been with Constant Contact for years using their email marketing software. I recently noticed they do text marketing too. I signed up for a trial just to check it out. I changed my mind and went with Square instead. I never used it. I then get a charge on my credit card for $149.00. I asked for a refund since I didn't use it as I was just checking out the program. They refused to give me my money back so I cancelled my whole subscription with them. I will never be back.
I have been with CC for over 10 years now. They have grown/changed a bunch in the past few years, but their service and what they do has been pretty good the whole time. The pricing can be on the expensive side when you are sending a bunch of E-Mails (20,000+), but I have been satisfied with the results.
