Sewists and quilters can buy good quality fabric and thread for reasonable prices, especially on one of their frequent sales. Everything arrives packaged well and in fast enough time. They also sell books, tools and kits.
Here is a little unknown gem of a website that sells cotton quilting fabric, thread, quilting supplies, books, patterns etc. I admit I am not a sewing bee queen but I needed some cotton fabric for a decorating project and this site had fabric at a very decent discounted price. They offer cute cotton fabric in a variety of prints, batiks, and colors. They aren't major brand but it is a major savings from anything I've researched. Shipping was quick and the cost of shipping was pretty fair. Check it out
I had order issues... I contacted customer service through email. I received and email and all my issues where taken care of. Including refunds. I have bought from Connecting threads for years and am completely satisfied.

I made an order for a fabric specifically for a class that I was taking. I spent the extra money to have it shipped in 2 days and it took forever. The quality of the one of my fabrics as paper thin... and then I did not get all the fabric I needed for my quilt and now that fabric is discontinued. So I contacted Connecting Threads and was treated like I was a problem. The person was short and flat and no help at all. I have spend so much money on Connecting threads through the years and first time I have a problem... no help. Very very poor customer service.
I did not get a clear picture of fabric on my phone so was a little disappointed in fabric choice. That was on me. The price and quality of fabric was good. Over all good experience.
I've use a lot of different fabric and I've never seen anything like this before. It's so bad on the back of the quilt top with the fabric fraying I'm not sure what to do. And it won't stop. The more I pull the more it fraying. I'm afraid to gift it and wondering if I should even finish it on the longarm?
My order has never been delivered. Per order tracking, it is sitting in a mailing facility in Ohio. It's not CT's fault, but I cannot review a product I have never received.
Purchased Entwined quilt kit. Frayed. I thought it was the Americana Collection that frayed. Later I purchased several pieces of yardage from another collection. Those pieces frayed. I truly hope CT resolves the issue. Their color, print, and theme choices are beautiful. It is disheartening to work meticulously on a quilt to see it unravel.
I have been very pleased with previous purchases from Connecting Threads, but I recently used the chat feature on the website to see what fabric colors would go with a specific panel that I wanted to purchase. I was given some recommendations, which I then purchased, along with 3 of the panels. There is only 1 piece of fabric out of the 5 recommended fabric colors that go with the panels. Returning the fabrics is a big inconvenience, so I will keep it but I will look elsewhere for coordinating fabrics. Very disappointed that their customer service rep was so wrong on the colors.
Takes forever to ship then marks item shipped and not really shipped. Took almost 3 weeks to get my order. When you call to confirm order shipped, if not and you want to cancel, claim order is in warehouse and cannot be cancelled. Supposedly has 3 or 4 websites and not enough people to cover their orders. Several orders I placed, I did not receive the item I ordered but someone else's order and had to wait an additional week to get my order -- almost a month. Nice fabric but does not know how to keep up with the business end.
I will never order another thing, ever, from this merchant. They have chosen the slowest shipping method possible. According to tracking info, this small, lightweight order of one item was shipped via DHL 8 days ago and is still "en route", not expected to deliver for another 6 days and is being held in a warehouse in the town right next to mine. I could actually walk there and pick it up in person. This is completely unacceptable and avoidable by choosing another shipper (Post Office, FedEx, UPS). This ridiculous timeframe was not mentioned at the time the order was placed and this item is available from MULTIPLE other sources.
I joined a Connecting Threads Block of the Month subscription because I'm totally new to quilting and it advertised a Facebook group for support. I tried the main FB group - no response. I tried FB messenger- got bot response with phone number. I called phone number & person couldn't help me. I asked what else I could do. She suggested an email. I got the following response:
Thank you for contacting us.
I have looped in our Department heads for review. I am sure it was on their list to accomplish.
Thank you kindly,
Kara

Same number I had called. Clearly only into sales and uninterested in customer support.
I have placed two orders with Connecting Threads. First order shipped on the 4th day and the jelly roll had knicks cut into the folds. I had to replace several strips.
This order I placed on Wednesday and it is now Tuesday and it has not shipped. Instead of apologizing for the delay I was given several excuses as to why my order hasn't shipped in 6 days and is still not ready to ship. They are behind!
Every other online quilt shop I order from, I receive my goods in three to five days. Connecting Threads needs to change their statement that they ship in 1-2 business days and learn how to handle customer complaints as it appears they receive many. Learn to say you are sorry and you will take care of the problem.
When I order, I receive the order in a prompt manner. It's always packaged well & arrives in perfect shape. The fabric colors are just what I saw in the pictures, so I'm always pleased. Now I need to cut & sew.
The fabrcs are really pretty. I was so delighted with my first order, that I placed a second order.
However, I had to look up the address to find out who the shipment was from. No name on the return address, I suggest Connected Threads name as part of the return address label.
Due to the fact that you us USPS for delivery, it took forever to arrive. I use their informed delivery so I could see that the package sat in the post office for a long time.
The problem I had was choosing the best backing for my quilt. I think in person I would not have choosen the one I bought on line. That being said the service from Connecting Threads was excellent.
I placed two orders recently. The time to get the orders took forever. And once I did get then I was really disappointed in how the fabric had been packaged and cut. The fabric was inside out and jammed in to small plastic bags so was very wrinkled. The "kit" I got was also jammed in a plastic bag and the pattern was basically folded in half so was rubbed and crinkled in the middle around the stack of fabric. The fat quarter bundle was just a stack of fabric badly cut with lots of selvage, inside out, and just stacked together - not neatly folded and bundled together - again jammed in a small plastic bag and wrinkled. Won't order from them again.
Whenever I need fabrics, thread and quilting notions this is my go to store. I can find fabrics that go together by shopping by collection by all the top manufacturers. All my sewing notions snd rulers etc. Everything packed carefully and I sm notidied when it's shipped.
Your customer service is awesome! I must admit I haven't been purchasing as much from you lately as I have in the past. Since you have gone with other fabric companies lines I feel you don't have quite the price breaks you used to have when you only had your own fabric line. I did find that if I wanted to add fabric from my stash it was harder to find fabric to blend. However, I have NEVER found better customer service ANYWHERE! I have been using your company for years and have only had a couple of errors on my orders, I called, explained what my error was and it was immediately taken care of and I was told each time the item(s) I received in error to keep them at no charge to me and they corrected the error with courteous service. I so appreciate that, kindness goes a long way with me. We are only human and errors happen but the way your company handles them is SUPERIOR!
I'm very dissapointed in the thread color. It doesn't match the older spools. I was out of the color Taupe. I thought I had enough, but didn't. Needless to say I was very disapppinted. This is not the first time.
Answer: I've used their thread for several years now - it's pretty much the only thread I'll use. Anyway, I have sewn many items using their thread: several upholstered pillows, many curtains, a throw rug, made cushions for my old wooden rocking chair and cushions for the rod iron furniture on my porch, and used it for making historically accurate costumes. I've never had to contact the company for anything because I've never had a problem with my orders.
Answer: It is definitely a real company - I've ordered from them several times. Love their thread!
