ComGateway are, in my estimation, the most inept, confusing, incompetent, annoying, overpriced company I have EVER dealt with. I have been trying to run a business for 6 months by utilising them. I don't even know where to start how bad these guys are. Just be afraid. Be VERY afraid.
This was the first purchase I had with comGateway and I must say it did not disappoint. I've tried other services before but they always had delays in shipment even if the items I bought were just small items. With comGateway, I was able to verify the expiration date of my items with ease, and also saved a lot with their OneBox service! It was also good that they have tons of promos which made me save more on my shipping. Thanks comGateway!
I have had so many issues with comGateway. My first issue is with their pricing; a package may actually only weigh 2kg, but they will charge you 6 kg! Sometimes they will give you the option to repack but that's not always available. Secondly, their customer service is awful. I have never been able to Live Chat with them because it's always "busy" so I have to resort to email which can take days for them to reply, if at all! They have no phone number which is frustrating. Thirdly, when I do organise my parcel for forwarding, it can take 7 days for them to dispatch it yet they are very quick to charge my credit card!
Beware - this company engages Volumetric weight charges, I was charged $400 to send a 9kg guitar (Volumetric charge 38kg), and before some Comgateway Rep. Rattles on about limited aircraft space etc. Lety em say this. As a former major account executive of an international carrier - any major freight forwarder such as Comgateway normally gets "cubic exempt clause" in their rates deal with the major carriers/airlines. If they haven't got this place, I would find this very strange. Look at similar businesses to Comgateway there is some that openly advertise they never charge you based on volume - they are the ones to use. I even got charged volume on shipping record LP's and these are quite dense. Comgateway's actual service is good but due to the volumetric pricing they are not competitive. Look elsewhere, especially for large or bulky items.
Got a parcel shipped via ComGateway. Only problem was that they charged me 40USD extra to ship air despite them saying they would repack if it would save at least 2kg (16USD). After much too-ing and fro-ing they did eventually refund most of the amount overcharged but refused to refund the last 4.40USD. It was their mistake which really peeved me off. Bella at Customer Service continually ignored my Q in regards why they wouldn't refund the whole amount and then just sent me an email saying they were refunding x amount and that was basically their way of fobbing me off!
My DHL consignment was delayed because the content of every individual package was given the same description. It was clear just from looking at some of them that the description was wrong, so customs held them and opened every one. The error in the documentation might have been the fault of the carrier or Comgateway. That's not clear -- and no one is telling.
Delays are also caused by admin and customer service being located in Singapore, while the physical operation is on the US west coast. There's a huge time difference between the two locations, so the receipt of a package at their depot might not be notified to the client and registered online until a couple of business days later. A client has to wait till this process is completed before forwarding can be requested.
Comgateway consolidates, but does not pack items together (unless you pay extra), then it charges for the rounded-up-to-the-nearest-half-kilo chargeable weight of each item separately and adds them together. This makes the amount payable somewhat greater. For example, two separate packs of tissues would be a chargeable half kilo each.
I found customer service often slow to respond, then a tad argumentative. They were unhelpful with a simple request regarding billing, and at least one message received no response at all. The only options for contacting them are email, and online chat during Singapore working hours. No phone number.
On the positive side, I do like the way they scan invoices/packing slips supplied by merchants and allow clients to view and download them. The online interface is good. And all my items did arrive in good condition.
Not my worst experience with a forwarding company, by any means, but I believe they could have done much better.
I will not be using them in the future.
I have had it up to the eyeballs with this company. They are incredibly difficult to deal with - they do not provide any means of contact except live chat function (which doesn't work half of the time) through your account, and email - which takes a day or longer to get a response.
My biggest frustration: they are not transparent AT ALL about their pricing. I have repeatedly asked for a breakdown of all of their fees, charges, and shipping costs and the agent just directs me to their website. However, they do not list all of the fees and charges on their website, which you only find out when you go to ship and they slug you with hidden costs. You cannot use the shipping cost estimate on their website - it means nothing.
I have had to escalate every slightly technical question I've had to the Customer Service Supervisor, Neil, because the other agents cannot answer such questions. Then with the tough questions (like pricing), Neil goes back and forth for about a week or two not answering my questions and has failed to elevate the issue to his manager even when repeatedly asked.
I do not understand why it is so difficult to give customers a complete breakdown of all the fees and charges being applied to shipments. That is a basic business requirement and it is certainly unethical and highly questionable business practice not to. I have been asking because the charges being levied are very high and are not in line with all of the fees I understand to be LEGALLY applicable to my shipments.
My next step is to make a formal complaint to the District Attorney's office in Oregon and the Better Business Bureau, so that other potential customers can make up their own mind whether they should be dealing with this company. I recommend that you DO NOT.

Their process is easy to understand and they have lots of discounts for new users—discounts that will convince you to try their service all over again. My package arrived safely and well-packaged. They are truly one of the most underrated shipping services out there. Two thumbs up!
Service is great. You feel safe as updates on the progress of your shipment are frequent.
If they could do something better? Their website could use a little TLC for clarity and easier navigation.

I used them to buy shoes from the U.S. I had a little trouble at first when they said they could not find that brand listed. I sorted that. From there on, everything went smoothly. I was kept informed of package movements and dates etc. The package just arrived this morning (2 April 2013 Australian time) as I expected. I would certainly use comgateway again. There is a shipping cost added the goods bought, but my shoes were still about $80.00 cheaper, all up, than I could buy then here in Australia.
I tried to purchase shoes online because it has a discount and way cheaper than buying in local stores here, but they don't process payment if your credit card is not from the US. I was quite excited about it since our tournament is already near. Then I found out about the "buy for me" service. Thanks to comGateway, I was able to buy my shoes! :)
Precise quote of package coat less than 2 minutes! I rarely ship items overseas since they always come with additional package cost but with comGateway they give you the quotation within minutes. My friend recommended this to me too!

I'm quite surprised with all the other reviews, because I had a pretty smooth transaction with them. They notified me for each item that arrived in their warehouse. The shipping process was quick, my parcel was sent the day after I confirmed it. I at first thought the shipping fee was too expensive, but when I compared it to other sites, they had almost similar rates. I live in Singapore and I received my parcel under a week. I'll be using their service again next week so I'll update on that experience when it comes.
I have used comgateway for a number of years and have always found them to be reliable, helpful and reasonably priced. All my parcels have arrived in good condition and very well packed. No complaints from me!

If you have any dealings with buyers or sellers using this address realize your accounts have been hacked. Never return items for an eBay auction as you will never receive a refund.
Used comGateway recently to buy from newegg. I did try one of the reviewers advise and was able to find a free express upgrade! Apart from this, requested a photo of the actual item they received on my behalf aside from the scanned invoice available on my comgateway account. Really happy with the service they provided even though all communications I had with them is thru email.
Started using comGateway like 2-3 weeks ago and made my first shipment last week. Since it's my first time shipping items through this kind of service (normally, I ask a relative who happens to be in US to buy stuff for me), I felt the need to get in touch with comGateway and provide me the step-by-step process of how the shipping works - though they have this How it works page, just need a more detailed info, well honestly I'm quite scared since the item I shipped is no joke.
