Horrible Experience!
November 29, 2020

The day is Black Friday 2020, I tried to order a laptop from bestbuy.com myself and ship it to Malaysia using MyUS or Ezipoz but unfortunately, BestBuy didn't accept my debit card since it is not issued in the US. So, I had no option other than to try Comgateway since it is the only shipping company that has the BuyFORMe as far as I know. It should work like this, you send them the link of the item you are willing to get, you pay to Comgateway using your credit card or whatever and they will buy for you from the website but, you have to pay extra for that service. In my case, the item I wanted was for 1200 USD and I paid an extra 30 something USD for the service (The original price for the BuyForMe service was 120 USD but it was discounted since it was Black Friday). Anyways, no problem until now by me.
After I paid in full, I sent them an Email immediately asking them to hurry up with the purchase since it is black Friday and there is a huge discount on what I want. After half a day, they responded and asked me for ID verification and my bank statement to verify the payment! OK, I sent them what they asked for in 1 hour, and luckily the item was still on sale so I asked them to hurry up with the purchase for the 2nd time. After a while, the guy replied that it will take from 1-2 BUSINESS DAYS! You must be kidding me! Why didn't you mention that before I pay so I could find another solution! 1-2 business days to "Verify the payment" then they will go purchase what I want... that means they will go with the purchase on Tuesday or Wednesday to get a Black Friday deal!
The next day, the item's price jumped 300 USD. I sent them an email telling them what happened and how disappointed I am cause I missed the day because of them and asked what shall I do next for the refund but, it is almost a day now and they still didn't reply.
In conclusion, the least I can say is that this company is A JOKE. The website is misleading, I am quoting from their FAQ answers, "We start processing BuyForMe orders as soon as we receive them", It didn't mention anything about 1-2 business days to START Making the purchase otherwise I wouldn't pay in the first place.
Also, the customer service experience was absolutely hideous.
My recommendation, DON'T use this company!

Never again
May 10, 2019

Ahhhh comGateway. Where do I start?

I received an email from them offering me 15% off shipping for the month of April. I had had my eye on a tiny, portable router that I wanted for travel, but it was only available at this stage in the US, so I figured this was the perfect opportunity to grab it. The router cost $59USD.

The item arrived at my mailbox, I went to ship it, and I nearly had a heart attack at the price. They wanted $74USD ($106AUD) to ship it to me. ONE HUNDERED AND SIX DOLLARS. FOR A TINY 400 GRAM ITEM. I nearly had a heart attack. The "shipping component" was only about 25$, but then there is the "fuel surcharge", the "lithium ion battery" surcharge, the "remote area" surcharge (despite living in the second largest city in the state), and of course "fees and taxes" (which appeared to be twice as high as they should be). Oh well, all is not lost. I still have this code for 15% off shipping right? Well, sort of. Quite deceptively, it only applies to the base shipping cost, so really, you save absolute **** all.

I tried using their live chat, repeatedly, to talk to someone about the charges. But despite it saying that they are "online", there was never anyone to talk to. I ended up sending them an email about the charges. Surely they can't be right. I got an email back a day later basically saying; "yes these charges are all valid. Suck eggs. We look forward to serving you in the future!" Oh boy. In addition they clarified for me that the fees and taxes were higher than 10% of the item, because the 10% GST is applicable to the value of the item + the shipping cost (so essentially, the higher they crank up the shipping cost, the more tax you pay). In addition, in this subcategory of charges, they also include a 5% "administration fee" (unlike eBay, or Amazon, or, well, anyone really). So keep in mind the 10% GST is actually 15% with these guys.

At this point, what do you do? You've basically got a gun to your head, because you can't keep arguing with them back and forth, because you will run out of days of free storage and have to start paying even more. Also, the 15% off will end, so the meagre $4 saving from that would be gone also. So your choices are discard the item and lose the $59 USD you paid for it, pay additional money for them to send it back to Amazon and hope you can get your money back, or bite the bullet and pay their extortionate shipping fees.

After a little research, I found that there are sellers on ebay that will ship this exact same item for as low as $27.34 (excluding tax). Obviously I understand that comGateway adds a margin because they are a business and that's why they exist. But this instance was just extreme, and the complete unwillingness to compromise just ticked me off.

Profit margin is more important than the customer CLEARLY
December 27, 2018

Clearly stated that my package was for Christmas and it was a disaster! Customer service is poor and run on GMT+8, takes 24hr minimum for anyone to get back to you as there is no telephone number. My package was available to ship on the Thursday 20/12, I spent a day and a half trying to get hold of an agent as the website wouldn't allow me to select it for shipping. I spend 5hrs on Friday waiting for someone to talk to me over the live chat after which all that time it hadn't connected to an agent and they all of a sudden went offline! They got back to me on Saturday morning which was useless as they said there was a technical fault and the technical team wouldn't be available until Monday the 24/12. After talking to the manager to complain on the Sunday I waited on the phone to let me know when the technical team would arrive into work so I can wake up due to the time difference... I was then told they have been given the Xmas eve and Xmas day off therefore wouldn't be able to do anything until boxing day 26/12... WHICH IS TOTALLY BIZARRE FOR A SERVICES COMPANY WHO DEPEND ON THESE IMPORTANT HOLIDAYS FOR BUSINESS... after much deliberation an agent called me Sunday night saying the problem had been fixed. I then was able to ship the package the following morning when the US office opens. However some incompetent being put in the wrong destination of shipping my package was now being sent to Hong Kong and not Bahrain... We found out through a contact we have in FedEx and they denied any fault from comGateway's end even though we have proof. And now currently my package is being rerouted through Hong Kong. Having paid 36% of the order in total of our package and its a complete scam! The "express" service they use (which was apparently a free upgrade) is FedEx economy shipping. After paying over $400 for this service I would say they are SCAMMERS!
