The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from issues related to billing practices and inadequate customer support. Many users report unauthorized charges and difficulties in canceling subscriptions, leading to feelings of frustration and mistrust. While a few long-term members appreciate the platform's initial value, the frequent changes and perceived decline in service quality overshadow these positives. The company's customer service is often described as unresponsive and generic, contributing to a growing sentiment that the business prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction.

North Syracuse High School in NORTH Syracuse, New York - IS NOT the same high school as North High School in Syracuse, New York! Read this a couple of time before you discard it. Your site has mixed up the 2 schools. Its annoying and one of the reasons I haven't subscribed... Respectfully, Cornelius C. Hayes, Jr. North Syracuse High School class of 1957.
Total waste of money! I signed up out of curiosity about some former classmates. Couldn't access any of them, visitors to me were blurred out (unless I paid more), difficult if not impossible to add material. Save your money and time…
I can't navigate from one school to another. I am stuck on the one school that I went to for a very short time, before going into the Army.
No help from their service either.
Classmates is like the Roach Motel... you can check in but you can never check out. I have requested cancellation of my subscription several times... they make dealing with them so difficult... run around, run around, run around. They won't let you change anything unless you can give them the last 4 digits of the credit card you used to set up the account decades ago! Finally, I went to my bank credit card to block them from billing me again. Dreadful service.
STRANGEST WEB SITE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED WITH SO MUCH CONFUSING OR WRONG DATA. STATED A PERSON HAD JUST JOINED WHEN IN FACT PERSON HAD JOINED A WHILE BACK. WHAT A JOKE!
I canceled my subscription 5 days after the automatic billing date. That was 3 months ago and they said they would refund my money. Has not happened. It is difficult to see that the subscription is automatically renewed. Buyer beware.
F classmates.com f them so hard that there a holes are bleeding an will never truley close ever again
Not only did I not connect with anyone from my high school graduating class, I had a very unpleasant interaction with a male from the class that graduated one year before me. I never met him nor did I have any connection with him, but he insulted me by saying I was ugly in high school and still appeared to be ugly. I graduated over 50 years ago and this person simply posted a private message to insult someone from his home town.
I went to this site Classmates to find out if they in fact had my yearbook. The site prompted that they did have it and a message showed up stating I was in the 2004 edition which is when I graduated. So I ordered without looking first since it is a chore to go through all pages. A few minutes after placing the order I saw a link that shows names of all in the book. I am not even in the book! The lied and stated I was. I thought well ok I'm sure that I can cancel since I just placed the order. NOPE, all you get after searching is an email address l. So I promptly emailed them with screenshots showing that their site lied about me being in the yearbook. Got no response. I called the following day since it was not business hours when I placed the order and was told it was shipped and no refunds and they didn't give a $#*! if the site lied. I used PayPal to order so I tried to return that way and they didn't allow it.
So in short it is a scam buyer beware!
After subscribing, the names of people who "visited" me were blurred out. I reached out to customer service for assistance with this issue - they responded by giving me the option to cancel my subscription. I have managed many help desk/CSR operations and would have retrained/terminated anyone who provided this sub-standard level of service. Step-up Classmates with at least a modicum of service for subscribers.
They are absolutely WORTHLESS, but they want your MONEY... you sign up once and every year will take your money without you knowing... Stay clear of this company
I initially signed up because I wanted to replace my high school yearbook. Filled in my profile and even uploaded pictures. Received numerous emails where the site indicated that I had former classmates visit my profile. When I viewed it they said that Ellen R…… had reviewed my profile I knew that she died 37 years ago in an auto accident. When they said my brother (who passed away 3 years ago) visited, I was finished. Attempted to call them to cancel. Sat on hold on the phone for an hour. No one ever picked up. Why do they feel that they have to lie to create activity.
This app doesn't let me locate much at all. It keeps going to the same places that I dont want to be. I thought it would be alot better than it is. Check it out before you pay for this.
If you're considering purchasing a yearbook from them, DONT DO IT! It's a rip off. Book is of very poor quality and not worth what you pay for it. I wouldn't spend a dime for it much less the $75 I actually purchased it for (on sale). Poor customer service also. The yearbook had 4 pages of a love note written to the former owner. Classmates heads cut off at top of every page.
I recommend you donate your money to a charitable organization instead of wasting it on purchasing one of their yearbooks.
I signed up for a few years, and I think it was $36, so $12. A year. It wasn't worth that. So I wasn't going to renew since you can do as much as a paying member than you can as a free member. Then I was hit with a $48. Charge with no notification. I looked into it, and that's for one year...$48 what a rip off. I requested a refund and to cancel, but was told no. Anyone joining should be made aware of this. What a ripoff!
Not to my knowledge, I was automatically renewed, Then I've now been on my phone waiting for representative to answer, now over 24 minutes. Then hung up on me. That way folks will just hang up. There appears to be no place on the website to contact or cancel!
Further, they continually say classmates have "visited", but it's the same ones over and over.
BEWARE! I normally say I will leave a review and then don't. Hate to hurt anyone's business. Yet the way they have this set up is so very sneaky. You will be charged e en if you do not enroll in the auto. They have a small area that locks you in once you sign up. Then you have to call and ask them to stop. By then they have your money and they will not be refunding you no matter what. So please beware and maybe Facebook would be a better choice as you can find people for free. There are hardly any to contact.
I wish I had read the reviews first myself.
After writing a not so nice final follow up email to Classmates.com (my 6th) and opening a new claim with paypal, I received an email this morning that they would refund my money and I could keep a free membership. Since they knew they had not provided me with the product they promised, they decided it best to refund and have the claim closed. I am persistant when I am right and will not allow others to take advantage of seniors. However, no one should have to jump through hoops, send 6 emails, to get any company to fulfill their obligation to consumers. I still recommend avoiding this company.
If I could give these scammers a minus star, I would. False advertising and bait and switch tactics. I rec'ed email from them that I could look at my yearbook. So I paid initial fee, but they never delivered the yearbook. My yearbook wasn't available as promised. Seriously, these guys need to be put of out of business. I contested my Paypal. Please tell your family, friends and acquaintences to run away. Don't get manipulated by these criminals. I tried to attach copy of my receipt below, which is in word format as they sent to me, but it's not a jpeg. What is also dishonest about "Classmates", is that you are not informed until they send you a copy of your receipt that the "fee" is non-refundalbe. What kind of a business does this? A complaint to the BBB is next.
I was so disappointed with this site. There are pop ups ads every few seconds. Navigating this site is ridiculous. After 3 wasted hours, I decided to pursue a refund. I only received automated answers of no refund.
Don't do it!
When U NO contact us info is NOT available... beware!
I signed up on discounted rates for 2 yrs... 6 mo later i received another notice... time ti renew. So I thought I just paid a 2 yr fee... So did the discounted rate for 2 yrs again... well here it is... 6 mo later my account is froze... Until I pay. WHATTTTTT. No way to see your billing info or anything...
ITS A SCAM! They even have drummed up people viewing your account... many times just to get u in to see who it is... unbelievable!
Answer: Use Paypal... you can stop any further auto pay before the next billing Year.
Answer: It may be possible. I can't say that for sure, but I do suspect foul play somewhere because it happened to me. I mean, my bank account was $18/mo since August 2021 and now $21.60 this year for something I swear that I never signed up for, and they insist that I did. When I called them to inquire about it, the rep (a woman named Paula), she rudely and quickly insisted the charges were legit because according to THEM, I had signed up for a 3-month membership--which is completely not untrue. She spoke fast, hardly let me talk, and hung up on me while I was still talking. That further may prove that perhaps there's foul play on their part. But, I cannot prove it. However, I strongly believe there's got to be some mistake (on their part) or some kind of fraud somewhere. If I were you, I wouldn't deal with these rude reps. Maybe go straight to the manager/supervisor. If that doesn't work, and you really think there's fraud, I would take it with and dispute it with your bank. I hope that helps
