Recently, I received notice from my bank that a $96 payment had been processed by Classmates.com. I did NOT receive any notice or invoice from Classmates.com. When I called, they said the fee was non-refundable! I checked my payment from 2 years ago. It was for $36, and the payment was reversed because I cancelled. This payment is $96! (a 167% increase). Classmates.com used my payment information even though I actually cancelled 2 years ago. When I asked the supervisor how to remove my payment information, she said they did not have any payment information on file. THEN HOW DID THEY PROCESS THIS PAYMENT!?
A supervisor told me that she would email a copy of the payment notice to me, as well as a copy of the original "contract" which says funds are not refundable. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED EITHER DOCUMENT!
This "company" is either TOTALLY INEPT or actually FRAUDULENT! Hard to tell.
I WOULD NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND THEM. They stole $96 from me! I WOULD LIKE MY $96.00 REFUNDED ALONG WITH A WRITTEN GUARANTEE THAT THEY HAVE REMOVED MY PAYMENT INFORMATION FROM ALL OF THEIR FILES!
PLEASE NOTE: I can not submit any "proof of purchase", because I never received ANY invoice or email form Classmates.com. My only notice is the statement from my bank!

I was pleased that I joined Classmates.COM. Threw a membership, I was able to reunite with classmates from 50+ years ago. This resulted in many of us meeting again for a reunion after 50+ years. Since our previous class leaders abandoned the reunion efforts this site was helpful to me. Fortunately another group of class leader's picked up the dropped baton. They ran with it and, there efforts culminated in a excellent 50TH re-union. It is my hope that there successful efforts will continue for a 55TH reunion of similar or greater caliber.
I too had reservations of joining this site. The majority of reviews are negative. Armed with that knowledge I joined then discontinued membership post 50TH reunion. I followed all directions given by Classmates and did not experience any billing problems.
I have recently re-joined my membership. They have improved on this site quite a bit. For example the year book browsing feature is a great added feature. One can actually look up a Classmates.com member or non member. Every one who was in the original year book is there. You can drill down deeper for any Classmates.com members only. This makes sense since they are providing a pay for service.
They do alert you to any one electronically leaving a foot print each and every time. I find that ok since, I like to see who is checking me out. One can change the notification settings in classmates.com to minimize or stop these help full (My opinion) Emails. The site seems to respond much faster and in a more dependable way than before. There customer service is also much improved.
The only draw back I have been disappointed in is there is no Mobile APP. According to there support people, "We apologize for this and there are no immediate plans to create a Mobile APP; at this time. One will find accessing Classmates.com from a mobile devise is limited.
Over All I am very satisfied with this site. I have been able to enjoy linking up to previous High School Chums and aquatint's. Some that were in other than senior year.

When it started in 1995, it seemed like a good place to find friends from schools. That ended in 2015, when it was acquired by PeopleConnect, which uses Classmates.com to generate subscriptions for its other company Intelius.

Here's the user experience: You enter your schools, and they will display the classmates from your years there. The problem is that Classmates does not have your classmates in their database unless those classmates have registered on classmates.com. I listed 5 of the schools I attended and less than 2% of my classmates were in the database.

You can do an extended search for unlisted classmates, and it returns "0" results, with prominent CLICKBAIT to "find them using the Intelius service". You will wait at least 5 minutes while watching progress bars telling you that the service has found them, and compiling their criminal record, family members, residences, financial history, social media. AFTER 5 MINUTES OF WAITING, you get a screen to sign up for Intelius subscription service.

THAT IS THE REASON CLASSMATES IS STILL ONLINE, TO SERVE AS AS CLICKBAIT FOR INTELUS.

CLASSMATES.COM IS USELESS, and is FULL OF OTHER 3RD PARTY CLICKBAIT under every button, and on all sidebars, and pop-ups. If they ever get your email, they will bait you weekly with "one of your classmates says hi"

Claims you can find classmates you potentially know but then hide them behind a paywall. It's impossible to find anyone.

I had canceled this account more than once. They finally stopped sending me emails but continued to charge my credit card. Insisting that they stop is ineffective. I was forced to cancel the credit card and open a different card to get the billing to stop. When I decided to forward a complaint I was not surprised to see the terrible rating and multiple people who had similar experiences.

There are a disturbing number of companies who scam internet users and this one is among the worst. My strong advice to anyone is DO NOT OPEN OR ENGAGE WITH THESE PEOPLE.

THE COMPLAINTS ARE ALL SIMILAR. ANYONE WHO AGREES TO OPEN AN ACCOUNT IS SCAMMED AND STOLEN FROM.

I will file a complaint through the credit card. At a point, the process is so time-consuming that most people just give up because it cost more to file the claim than you could recover.

I am a busy business owner. My time is valuable and taking the time to write a long and complicated complaint will cost me. The best thing I can do is warn any potential subscriber; you will have money stolen from you by these people. Stay away...
My name is Patrick Kelly, I graduated from Rummel High School in 1974.

They truly know how to lure teachers in with affordable classroom supplies and decor that other places and sites don't provide, but I was truly blindsided by my experience with my online purchase. I had shopped many times at the Evergreen location, but with the craziness of summer tutoring and being away most days, I figured that the online shop would be a convenient option. First off, the delivery selection is 5 mile delivery/pick up. You place the order, but the site DOES NOT mention which one they'll do. To be sure, I called the location and asked them which of the 2 options will they provide. I received a quick response: whichever you prefer is the one we'll do. I was very satisfied with the answer and simply stated that I would pick up the order, that way I could grab any other supplies I may potentially need. They promised to give me a call "in a few days" when the order was in. Six days later, I called in once more to check the status of my order since their online website does not allow any order tracking. The woman who answered claimed she did not know how to even check that and when the woman in charge of online orders would be in the store "in a few hours," she'll "give [me] a call." Again, satisfied with the answer, I hung up the phone and waited for the call. It was that same day that I heard from another teacher that she had placed an online order last school year and never heard back nor received the product. Nervous, I reached out to the store that same week (3 days later) to check the status again. They took my number down, telling me I will hear back from someone soon. Once again, the phone was silent on their end. The next day, I took it upon myself to go over to the store and ask for my order. The cashier called for a worker from the back room, who came out and claimed that they carried multiple of the items I ordered at their Downers Grove location. I told her I would be more than happy to drive out there and get my merchandise, to which she quickly responded with, "Why would you do that? The owner lives out here, she can bring it by when she comes back home." Again, they took my number and promised to call me later that day. I never received a phone call, and at that point, I knew I was scammed/robbed. I understand that this is a busy season for teachers and teacher stores, but the least they can do is tell me when my products will come in, IF EVER. Three days after my in-store visit, I filed for a claim with my bank and the money was issued back to my card. The company then had the audacity to email me saying that my products were in-store and ready for pick up. I NEVER received a phone call or email to tell me that they were there and I can GUARANTEE that I never would have seen those products.
As excited as I was to support a small business, I never will step foot in that store ever again. Way to take advantage of teachers--the one career that makes little to no money to begin with.
