Even after having requested and receiving an email from the sales person indicating they would cover all pool and spa equipment. 1 yr later they would not cover a starter capacitor and hard start kit on the spa heater. Cost me $450 plus their deductible. Asked for review of claim, they said doesn't matter, vague verbiage used by sales person still allows them to not cover the parts.
However, no issues with simple repairs with past refrigerator on different property.
Choice Home warranty sent Sears repair service to fix my refrigerator about 10 weeks ago. Sears was supposed to order a door for my refrigerator but it never came. I've been calling Choice Home but each time they said they would find out what's going on and call back within 48 hours, but this has not happened. My food had spoiled especially milk, juice and fruits. I am a 74 years old and this is the kind of service I'm getting. Right now I have nothing good to say about Choice Home Warranty!
If you call 2 times on the same subject, you WILL get 2 completely different answers. I was given misinformation from them that caused them to deny me of over $800 for reimbursement for my pool pump (which is covered) and even though they know it's their fault, they refuse to reimburse any of it. They have no service providers for pool/spa so definitely don't waste your money on that. Their plumbers are either incompetent or just no call/no show you. That cost me another $1000+ for a leak that should've been covered. I had to call over 2 dozen times and some of the reps are extremely and unbelievably rude and unprofessional. This is not my first home or my first home warranty plan. This has been a year I regret and I wish I could have a do over in home warranty choice. Should be called "Bad Choice Home Warranty".
I have had choice home warranty over 3 years on 2 homes. I've been denied coverage about half of my claims. I am Now trying to get back my remaining prorate from this company... In my opinion this company basically makes money off of people and does NOT deliver.
I am locked into a 3 year contract. So far, I have called 5 times. 2 repairs were covered. The second one took 2 weeks to complete with NO communication from the company. There is NOTHING good to say about this company. Stay away!
It is so painful getting a claim paid it makes it too painful to deal with them. Even in cancellation they pull some shady tactics. Avoid this company. Save your money for repairs and do not pay them a fee to make your life more difficult. It is currently my goal in life to let people know that this is a huge waste of money.
After a estimated repair time of 13 days after the complaint for an AC unit in 95 degree Florida heat I have had enough!
AVOID Choice Home Warranty! Total waste of money! They will find any reason not to honor their agreement. Had two occasions to deal with them and both instances they make you jump through endless hoops until they can find a way not to pay, even if it makes no logical sense whatsoever. You will spend months trying to get the system repaired or replaced to no avail. During the first instance with the AC, their service tech didn't complete the job and was trying nickel and dime the warranty company until we kicked him off the job. We had several licensed techs after which that all said the same thing and the warranty company refused to honor their responsibilities. Second instance was the same. Even after emailing their c-levels, there was no resolution! Save your time and money! Just avoid these guys! Total nightmare!
Choice Home Warranty is one of those companies that say they will take care of you, but too many vendors have had bad experience with them and won't work with them, so then that leaves you to find your own vendor, often out of their network and they won't pay for the repairs you need. They also only want to pay for items at their cost, not what it costs to replace the appliance. Overall, terrible service, terrible customer service. I will never recommend this company and will never use them again. What a rip off.

I am wise enough to understand there is no such thing as free lunch. I paid premium as per the plan requirements but when it came to Choice to deliver services, they make excuses
Technicians they assign are too lazy or know the game where they say its easier to replace than fix- Choice gets involved and either will deny the claim with some excuse or tell the customer to bear the cost with some excuse... 3 months into the plan, got tired of their excuses on not to fix and issue and cancelled the contract. I am fighting now with my bank to dispute.
These guys are not worth it... they will not touch a claim unless its making them money... just that simple
Don't ever buy. It is a fraud. You will regret buying it. If bought and cancel later, make sure your credit card block choice home warranty from charging it in the future. Because they will keep charging to your card.
Absolutely Horrible company. Took 5 days before a technician showed up for a plumbing problem. Technician stuck his hand out for the $65 fee, took some photos and told me that he had to get approval from the company to complete the repair. He should have it by 10 am the next day. The next day we received an email informing us that the claim was denied. We could appeal and someone would get back to us within 48 hours. It has been over 72 hours and still no contact. AND, we can't get our $65 back! I would have felt better if the technician had put on a mask and robbed us with a weapon. He literally walk in, took our $65 and left!
BUYERS BEWARE, This company is a joke. We will be cancelling this warranty. I'm expecting to be charged an exorbitant cancellation fee. This company is a JOKE! The only reason they got 1 star rating is because there is no zero star.
I paid in advance for 1 year of service. Near the completion of the year I was informed via email that the contract was expiring and I needed to renew it. I wasn't impressed with their slow service so I did not renew. I found out today they have been changing my credit card a monthly contract fee. I did not authorize this charge. I talked with Andrea in customer resolutions. They finally agreed to refund less than half of what they illegally charged me. Bad service and fraud. Definitely stay away from this company.
I am a ac company In arizona. I've done over 100 call for choice this year alone. Homeowner run and don't sign up with them. They will only cover small low item if you need a full replacement you only get choice to pay 1500 on a new system. Guess what homeowners will have to pay the rest of the system.and the catch Is that 1500 is for the company came to your house to tell you need A new system. I won't do any more work for them every again they are crooks!
If choice was as good at selling their contracts as it as a fixing the repairs, they would be an awesome company! However this is not the case. AC not working, set an appointment, repair man does not show up. Call choice, he comes the next day. I get note that the part he needs to replace is not covered. Make sure you look at the fine details in the agreement! Condenser is not covered? Sorry, but the one thing that breaks down from normal wear is the condenser! So, I have to pay the repair man for a part that should be covered. 1940. 00! Plus the 85.00 fee. Over 2000. 00! AC worked for about 2 weeks, and broke again. Let me guess, they won't pay for the a part this time as well. I will not be using Choice in the future. I will simply go to a rep business in the future.
Stay away from Choice Home Warranty. I purchased a warranty from them and hardly ever used the services for about 10 months. And then the one time I experienced a plumbing leak, they denied my claim as it looked to them like it was physical damage. A drainage pipe in my master bathroom on the second floor of my home experienced a sudden slow leak. A plumber was sent to my home. He discovered one of my drainage pipes deep behind the cabinet under the sink had a crack in it. When he submitted to Choice Home Warranty for repair, they denied it due to physical damage. I appealed it and was told by the case manager that Choice Home Warranty does NOT cover pipes if there is a crack discovered. If this company offers a plumbing warranty for wear and tear but does not cover cracks--well, I think you know where I am going with this; how can anyone have peace of mind that their plumbing is covered -- so long as no cracks are discovered.
I'm reading these and my god this is ridiculous. I filed a complaint over 2 weeks ago no service yet. My son googled this company and found out a lawsuit was filed on this company in 2019 for basically no holding up to their end of their deal. I'm glad i saw these reviews. I'm going to take legal action. I pray everyone here having a hard time gets their issues resolved.
This is a terrible warranty company. Please go elsewhere! I had a clogged toilet and they argued about covering the fix (which they didn't). My refrigerator went out and I'm now throwing out all the food and the part to fix it is still not here after several days. They said they will contact me in 3 days to give me an update. I'm looking for a new company as of today.
I am writing this review as a vendor, not a homeowner. I began taking jobs on for Choice/ Rely home warranty 4 weeks ago. They have been nothing but a nightmare from day 1. They do not pay their vendors. They do not approve any work needed. One example is they finally approved a garbage disposal install for an approved amount. Then a month after the installation, they decided they didn't want to pay for it so dropped the approved amount by 1/3. They still haven't paid one cent for the install or materials and I am now attempting to just recoup the cost of the unit. They are a disgrace and people deserve to know who they are giving their hard earned money to. They should be shut down.
Last time the over-range microwave, this time the spa control switch. I paid extra for coverage for the hot tub (spa). The switch that runs the jets now refuses to turn off. It's a push button in a control panel and you can see it's slightly depressed, won't pop back up. Called Choice and they sent a tech. Nice fellow, said a new control panel was needed, and sent the report to Choice. Choice denied it, saying they don't cover "multi media centers". Now I would not call a simple push button control panel from pre-smart home days a "multi media center" (no wifi, no Alexa, etc). That's stretching it trying to find a reason to deny a claim! They didn't even offer anything toward our purchase of a new panel. Pick another company for your home warranty!
Had them for 7 months. My heater broke they assigned tech company that came out diagnosed problem and said no worries all home warranty companies cover this then I got a call back that Choice said it was excluded. I called another home warranty to see if they cover that part and said they do. I took it up the ladder to a Case Mgr and she was so rude I had a terrible experience. Do not use Choice Home Warranty
Answer: 2-10 is more expensive but of very good value. Good people. Our plumber has recommended Old Republic. I do not know anything about them though.
Answer: A definite scam. Will not pay, use any excuse to not pay. Takes days to acknowledge a service company is being assigned. Service personnel will not work for them as they do not get paid.
