Zero integrity. Hard to get service. Most appliance repair shops will mot work with them. They pay nothing. I have a four year old GE café dishwasher top of the line that they can't fix. They're supposed to give money to buy a new one. Their offer, $245. You can't get anything less than 1000 to 1500 today. That's all they offer. Better not to have a warranty. I asked to cancel the remaining contract and they offer $100 back. I paid $700 for the remaining part of the contract. The worst experience with any company that I've ever had to work with.
After days on end, no tech ever gets assigned to a claim... reason, no tech company wants to work with them... period. CHW then pushes you to their "claim reimbursement" option... by then you are in dire need of the appliance so you agree only to find out no tech is willing to work with them on the quote... and if they do, CHW states you've missed a step and deny's your claim... now you are stuck with the bill. What a total mistake signing on for this warranty program. I should have listened to my brother and went with www.2-10.com He has a tech at his place within hours of his call and is 100% satisfied
We had Choice for 1 year. I made 3 claims. Every claim was denied. The last claim was for an air conditioner not cooling. After they sent a technician and I paid the service fee it was the same old story, not covered. Not covered seems to be the only words they use. It doesn't even matter if you escalate to a manager for review, they have the same script. I recommend anyone else!
I bought home warranty for peace of mind, however, when my AC stopped stopped working, they declined the coverage stating I didn't maintain it and that's why it stopped? How was I supposed to maintain a motor from dying on me all of sudden? They said they emailed me, however, I didn't get any communication from them. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company.
We have an insurance coverage with Choice Home Warranty to cover repairs and or replacement for our main home appliances and equipment. We recently had issues with our AC unit and contacted them and requested for a technician to come and have a look at it. Their conclusion was that the AC unit required cleaning and adding refrigerant. We were not satisfied with the technician that Choice Home Warranty. We subsequently hired another technician, separate from Choice Home Warranty, which evaluated the system performed the cleaning and adding of refrigerant required Choice Home Warranty. The AC system still was not cooling properly so we contacted Choice Home Warranty. They required us to open another claim and pay for another technician which we did. The technician concluded that the unit coils were old and needed replacement and that the unit had minor leaks. He suggested add a substance to seal the leaks and adding of refrigerant only after that could he measure to show that the coil is the problem and not working efficiently. After he submitted his information to Choice Home Warranty they immediately closed the claim and refused to work with us without any explanation. We have had a similar issue before with them, where they took 3 months and numerous visits to fix a problem we had with our range/oven. We again filing a complaint for this issue as they are not willing to resolve it. They are very happy to take our money but never when it is their turn. I Have been told by people do work for them that they are famous for doing this and waiting for the customer to give up in order not to pay.
I have an oven that doesn't function well. It has been repaired many times. I called Choice home warranty. They promised that send the final tech to examine. If the tech requested replacement and we will replace it. The tech reported to Choice home that the oven need replacement. However, choice home told me we only proved repair. Never renew with them. The good reviews probably are friends and family members.
I requested for AC repair, the scheduled technician 3-4 days after the request was created. They declined the claim of replacement stating reason as poor maintenance. I had another technician reevaluated system who said the system not performing because if its age and void of R22, so I tried to re appeal but their case managers already had made up her mind, she did not care to look at the other technician's report, she indirectly blamed me for making the technician says what he said. I had another plumbing request made and they assigned a technician after a week which is not what their sales team promises when they pursued me to renew the contract. I inherited the contract from the previous home owner and continued with it without researching on them. I wish I had read all the google reviews on them. I am regretting a LOT.
One star is for them answering the calls and replying on email.
I have had Choice warranty for over 4 years they have been horrible.
They always decline claims, from a seal on a dryer to a valve on a brand new air conditioner unit to sending scammers out to the resident that say I need to replace a brand new AC unit.
But when I hired a reliable technician with an upstanding company it was a simple fix.
They are all criminals taking from us.
Stay away from this company.
Sylvanna Green-Hazel was my "case manager". Don't make the same mistake I did. RUN. I lost $1000's to this company and have nothing but poor service, lack of communication, not a single issue resolved, not to mention without water for 3 weeks, to show. This company a SCAM.
After months and months of going back and forth the technician was unable to fix the stove. I am on the phone hours at a time trying to get hold of some one for resolution and they keep playing games and they have neither repaired nor replace my stove as of today 8/31/2022.
This is now a fire hazard because they have CUT the gas line to the burner last time they came to try to replace and now this is impaired stove and broken and I am stuck now
Just spent 40 minutes of my life I'll never get back trying to cancel Choice Home Warranty. The sarcastic guy told me he'd have to ask me several questions before I'd be allowed to cancel. It was absolutely horrible and had to call my Credit Card company to ultimately have it canceled. Stay Away from this company.
This company is a total waste of your money. They do not have a network of service technicians. They farm out the jobs based on the cheapest bid. That is why it takes days for them to get a service technician out.
Then they deny the claim because the technician didn't fill out the paperwork correctly.
If you get sucked into this scam, you just flushed your money down the toilet.
Please add this review: The WORST COMPANY to work with! They are LIARS! Horrible Customer Service. Their sales people make fake and false promises during their Sales pitch. Once you sign the contract the sales guy will talk back rudely to you as if you don't matter to them what so ever. They are not willing to help you in any way. I made a big mistake signing up with them. I don't think they will return my money now that I have already paid them.
On 7/1/23 I filed an emergency claim due to an inside water main break. CHw never sent anyone out, never provided a claim number, nothing but did tell us to pay a plumber to stop the damage and they would reimburse. They have refused to do so saying once they sent an email with a link and another time stating that I needed to get prior approval for the plumber and fees. So they voided the contract under UCC code title 2
Choice home warranty does not deliver on what they promise. They will do EVERYTHING in their power to weasel out of a way to adhere to their own promises in their contract. The reviews on their website are phony and not from real consumers! AND on top of this, they have atrocious customer service. Much better to buy the warranty from whatever retailer sold the appliance. Beware!
I have a garbage disposal that is not working and my sink is backed up. I filed a claim and did not hear back from Choice Home Warranty. After 24 hours I called and was told it could be 24-48 hours before I was contacted. 48 hours past and nothing. A com courtesy e-mail or call would have been great. The first e-mail I received was from the president to sale me addition years. I would not use this service again, much less buy additional years. I would not recommend Choice Home Warranty to anyone. I will pay for the service of the plumber, AC/heating directly. I prefer service over delays.
Called for service to repair garage door opener 8-18-22. No one showed up or called even after talking to repair company about adjusting time frame for doing the work. There choice of companies is poor. Reschedule appointment with different company, they also failed to show up at their schedule time. I call that repair company and they stated they did speak to Choice home Warranty representative but never got a request from Choice home War. To due the repair. I again waited for some one to show up at the
Time that Choice home War. Said they schedule the appointment. When talking to Choice Home War. It is someone else failure to respond. I have now place a third request for repair and to speak to a Manage, but nothing has happened. Please look for a better Company for Home Warrantee program.
Old Republic is who I should have used even though they are a little higher in cost.
No one should use this company. They do not want to uphold their part of the contract. I had three claims and each time they refused or offered a low price to fix which I had to cover the reminder. I had a chase manger name Chantel M. Who was very rude, refused to listen to me, very short and sarcastic. I felt like I paid this company money to insult me which I did not. To be fair I did talk to two other people who seem to want to help, but I had to keep calling back to try to get other people beside her.
Run away! I have hade Choice for a while now and have nothing to say good about them. They are crooks. Just had a claim for a GE induction cooktop that would not power up. Their technician diagnosed a bad power supply, and it would need to be replaced. When they submitted it to Choice I was told that it could not be fixed. Offered ~$370 dollars to replace a $2400 cooktop. With this information, I ordered a new cooktop (new model of same unit) and had someone install it. Now we have a brand-new cooktop that still will not power up. Called an electrician and only problem was a tripped breaker. So, I'm out the $2500, $300 to install, and $200 electrician bill. This is only one of the many claims that cost me money and never got a repair done through them. They did the same thing when we had two central AC units get hit by lightning a few years ago. They sent out 3 technicians and none knew what to do. The last Choice tech never did came because the appointment was set up for a month down the road and Choice said we were stuck with them. We live in Florida, and it was summer. I called a real company and got then fixed quickly. That is just two things, there were others.
As my warranty with choice home warranty was coming up to the renewal time they began calling and emailing trying to get me to purchase another year warranty. I advised them that I had sold the house and yet they continued to call and email. There were daily calls even after I requested that they stopped contacting me.
Answer: 2-10 is more expensive but of very good value. Good people. Our plumber has recommended Old Republic. I do not know anything about them though.
Answer: A definite scam. Will not pay, use any excuse to not pay. Takes days to acknowledge a service company is being assigned. Service personnel will not work for them as they do not get paid.
