THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY EVER. My AC compressor went out and they said they wound not fix it because it was due to a ground fault. Well genius the ground fault was because the compressor went out. That is a fail safe process. They said it was not due to wear and tear. Well the technician said on the report it was from wear and tear. I asked them for the report and they said it had proprietary information. So let me get this straight…. I can't have a copy of the report for MY AC at MY house for a warranty I am paying for. DO NOT USE THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY. Trey will provide the report when it is subpoenaed. Please take my advice and DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Technician was scheduled to be here Monday from 3-8pm... Didn't show up. Contacted him and scheduled a Wednesday appt after 5pm... Still didn't show. Do not use Choice Home Warranty!
I'm a contractor that has attempted to do work for Choice and it has been a terrible experience. I feel so bad for my clients that have tried to use them to get their items repaired. Choice pays little to none to the contractors working for them and denies almost all claims that they receive. My last customer was on the phone fighting to get his drywall repaired. They denied him over and over then realized he wasn't going anywhere so they approved his repair. I turned in the repair quote and they decided they would only pay a quarter of the amount of the invoice and make the customer pay the rest. Now they feel like they are "paying the bill" and are now putting the pressure on me to fulfill their robbery of this poor man. I receive email after email telling me I have to do it now or their will be no other task that will be sent to me. What a scam! Also they are very good about just hanging up on you if they think they will need to pay for a claim. Save yourself the time and avoid the stress the company will gladly give out.
I would not recommend nobody to do business with them. I am a faithful customer. I paid them every month on time is drafted at my account. I never use them until now and I needed a thermal expensive valve they sent a heating and air guy out here. He was awesome before he got out my driveway they denied me and I never asked them to get nothing fix until now I had to go back-and-forth with them a couple days they approve everything and told me they were only cover $100. It was a $400 bill and they wouldn't even pay that, I don't recommend nobody doing business with them. They don't care about you all they care about is getting your money and my bill is due on the first of every month. They always take my bill before the first time and I have it drafted I cancel my service I could've paid for my own problem sir getting them to pay $100 it was a $400 bill that's ridiculous so if you imagine if it was more than that they definitely wouldn't even pay for it. All they do is sell you a warranty and they don't standby they work I will never do business Dan with ever again. I can save my own money and get my own prepares. The money is hard to come by so you don't do people like that, but they keep they keep saying I'm a loyal customer if I'm loyal, they treat me like I'm loyal you couldn't even pay for the bill. I had to pay $300 out my pocket all they did was pay $400 but oops they going to get half of their money back when they get the payment from me I don't recommend nobody to get anything or any service with them. I really don't even want to give them no stars.
Paid in full can't get a email or call from them about a claim I submitted might as well submit to thin air. Constant battle stay away!
This is a review on their cancelation policy. We had them for a year and never actually had to use them. My contract specifically said a start to end date for one year. The month before the end date I called to say I would not be renewing and wanted it to end at that ending date. Was told no problem and nothing else was needed on my end as long as I did not call to renew. I also removed my card from the account. Of course the next month they charged me and at a higher rate. I called and asked why since I canceled and to refund my money. I was told I was month to month and couldn't just cancel and they would only credit me for a month if I stayed. I told her no I canceled the month before but she refused to refund me so I now am having to do a stop payment at my bank and disputing the charge. So basically if you want to cancel your contract at the end do a stop payment at your bank or credit card or you will be sorry. Terrible business practice. Also you will be told if you pay month to month that you do not have a end or renew date even though it states a date on their website. I was even sent an email from their sales department telling me my contact person for renewing the contract. All in all they are dishonest.
Horrible experience with CHW on non-repairable frig. CHW repairman said if was repairable and the parts were still under warranty, so CHW required me to track the parts down with KitchenAid. Parts were sealed systems requiring a certified installer. After 3 months of back and forth with CHW and KitchenAid, KitchenAid finally send me the parts since the CHW repairman said he was certified. He installed them and charged the frig with freon and said it was fixed, but it was not. 2 more visits from the repairman ended up with him stating it was non-repairable and they started the replacement process. I had Kitchen Aid come and evaluate and their very knowledgeable repairman took one look and said it was non-repairable from the beginning and the CHW repairman should have known this from the very first visit. Then to put salt in the wound, CHW only gave me $900 for a frig worth $3100, as they are not required to match the brand, dimensions, color, etc. of your frig, only math similar features, capacity, and efficiency. I'll never used CHW ever again and will never recommend CHW to anyone. Over the last 3 years I've used them, every single repair, etc. I've had has turn out bad. Their top rating is a joke!
I had a warranty, but here's the type of service you get. My Air Conditioner broke and needed service. I live in Florida. Temperatures then were 100 degrees. I filed my claims. I waited 2days to hear from them who was coming out. I. heard nothing. I called them. They said they haven't located a person yet to fix my air conditioners. I live in a large city. There are 100's of AC repairman. They told me they were working on it. Two weeks passed. I called them repetitively since the house was 100 degrees. All I was told is that they haven't found anybody yet. Finally after 2 weeks, I gave them a piece of my mind for torturing my family with 100% heat and no one to repair my AC. They told me that I could hire my own AC repair person and submit for reimbursement. I did that. I spent $2000 on the repair and when I went to submit for reimbursement, they told me I could NOT do it because repairs need to be approved first. I told her the representative said I could call up AC repair service and I could get reimbursed at their rates. They screwed me. Royally for never being able to get a repairmen for weeks in 100 heat, allowing me to find my own repairmen which took one phone call, and then never reimbursing me as I promised. This company is awful. I would never use them again and would tell every body never to use these people. They don't have the resources to repair your issue and they tell you things that just aren't true to get you off the phone and so they don't have to pay you. Use anybody else besides these guys. This whole thing was ridiculous, infuriating, and awful.
I signed up with Choice Home Warrenty over 8 years ago and can honestly say that they are a sham company. I had many more denials than favorable claims. I had to pay 85.00 for someone to come and deny service. Not to mention the 63.82 monthly charge. The last time I was denied claim, I got a little huffy with the technician and he apologized and said that Choice normally has them deny service for anything and then the case worker will not call you back so you give up. My last claim was a broken dishwasher and the tech said the company will deny the claim. But he said he found a cracked piece and got it approved. This contractor also told me that Choice always reminds techs what will disqualify the claim. Compared to other companies, Choice has the most claim denials by far. He even recommended the best company in his opinion. I called Choice this morning to cancel service and the agent said if I stay they will send me 150.00. The problem is in I have paid about 8 years of a monthly payments (7000.00) and 85.00 when they deny my claim, so you can see why 150.00 seems like a hollow gesture. So I finally canceled. Please don't fall for there 9.8 rating. The Better Business Bureau ranks choice 1 out of 5, They have over a 1000 complaints with the BBB so the 9.8 review is fabricated. As several contractors have told me, Choice is about denying claims, so please stay away fom this Company! Learn from me, I stayed way too long hoping service would improve, it just got worse.
I had a 2 year old dishwasher thar broke, was un repairable and I had to pay $60. For no repairs. I was offered but CHOICE HOME WARRENTY $246 to replace my dishwasher. I was already out $60. So I get $186. To to replace my dishwasher. This is a scam. I canceled my policy and they didnt even seem to care. GOOD RIDENCE I SAY. So don't use them.
Choice is false advertising in Hawaii. They have NO ONE willing to work for them in Hawaii. They will assign a vendor and the vendor will say we don't do any work for them because they don't pay. Choice will give you the run around and is an ABSOLUTE SCAM. They HAVE NO VENDORS. They will leave you without hot water they will leave you without AC. I think there should be a class action lawsuit in Hawaii as they don't have Vendors and shouldn't be allowed to sell Warranties in Hawaii. I am not sure how they are in the mainland but are honestly a complete JOKE> They are unethcial and are basically stealing peoples money and can't provide coverage.
Do NOT buy a home warranty plan from CHW!
Claims I have filed:
HVAC claim: DENIED! They said my cracked heat exchanger on my 19 year old furnace was a pre-existing condition. Plus per their contact would only pay out FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS MAX!
PLUMBING Claim: DENIED! Filed a claim online ( happened on a Saturday, they only work M-F normal business hours) well I had raw sewage backed up into a bathroom ( tub, sink and toilet). Well that could NOT wait until Monday or later to get addressed. I hired a plumber & submitted the bill.
Front load washer claim: they approved but it took over 6 weeks to get repaired.
Gas Range claim: they denied the repairs and opted for replacement. They only offer funds for replacement! Their offer was FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS! Which is only 1/4 the cost to replace my unit. My range is a 5 burner, convection oven probe cooking self cleaning and a whole lot more.
So please don't fall victim to this company!
Do your research! CHW currently has over 10,000 complaints filed against them within the last 90 DAYS! There is also a class action lawsuits..
Terrible company. Take your money for years and deny your claim. Leave you holding the bag. Will always find an excuse not to pay.
We have had them for 6 months and they have denied 2 out of 3 claims, ended up paying on my own. This is a rip off!
I've paid for warranties on multiple houses and multiple years with Choice Home Warranty. A couple of months ago I called in a claim for my personal washer which is less than 2 years old. AFTER A FULL MONTH I still had no repairman assigned, even after being "escalated" multiple times. Then I agreed to their "reimbursement program to hire my own repairman. He came and diagnosed the problem but could not get parts. Choice Home Warranty contract says repair or replace, right? WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! AT THEIR OPTION THEY "REPLACE" BY OFFERING NEARLY HALF THE COST FOR ME TO ACTUALLY BUY A NEW WASHER TO REPLACE my 2 year old washer. Furthermore, I was informed that I have no other options available as my claim had already been escalated multiple times.
I WILL NOT BE RENEWING MY CONTRACT WITH CHOICE HOME WARRANTY AS I FEEL IT'S A RIP-OFF COMPANY. THEY DID NOT TREAT ME AS AN IMPORTANT CUSTOMER - not in getting someone out to my house, not in obtaining the parts to make the repairs, and certainly not in providing a fair replacement value. The amount of money they have offered only approximates my premium cost for the policy.
They will find a loophole to deny you coverage for the AC units. Horrible company. I wish I knew better..
I am at a loss of where to start as I don't want this review to go unread due to the length, so I want to keep it short. I feel it's very important buyers should be aware of this company and the frustration, time, and energy they may cause you, so I will bullet point the experience you should expect if you still choose to use their services after this list.
*TIME WASTED (I have spent about 36.5 hours on the phone with Choice Warranty for ONE appliance request, which is STILL pending a fix since November 2021)
*MONEY (Along with my time, went my money and not having this appliance in my home has to caused more money spend to complete this chore)
*FRUSTRATION (The hours spent going round and round with customer service agents and the techs who are supposedly working on a fix)
*LIES (From service dates, to costs, to what will and will not be done, it was all lies)
*NO COMMUNICATION (They do not let you know if, when, or what is going on with the tech or your work order)
Their motto should be... Choice Warranty - Using us would be a Bad Choice!
Highly NOT Recommended. I would like to give "NO" stars as its not worth it. People working at Choice home warranty are very rude. Our stove wasn't working, out of 4 burners 3 burners are not working. Choice sent two technician to double check the issue. Both the technician mentioned that all four infinity switches and stove glass top needs to replaced. With that said, our ovan door had some issue. According to Choice Home Warranty, door doesnt fall in "Normal" Wear and tear issues and hence they couldnt repair or replace the stove. When escalated by us, we were assigned case manager AZFAR ALI for our Stove, who was the most rude person to talk to. He kept on saying this is not Normal etc etc. and same issue. We added the technician on our call who provided the report. He asked the technician whats the cost of repairing the switches and stove glass top. When technician told him the cost of the repair work. He mentioned to us, that this is not normal situation for repair and this comes under safety. If this is not normal then what is a normal situation. If the case manager says this falls under safety issue, it highly needs to be replaced or repaired. I would highly recommend NO Choice Home warranty, if anyone are considering.
Not any good send people that don't know what they are doing. You never talk to the same one poor commutation. They got to me for 1,100.
I have no kitchen sink for 23days already. Pevious home owner purchases this warranty for sales purpose. Leak happened under kitchen counter at the pipe divider after I moved in for 2 weeks. Contacted Choice on their app, never heard back. Called 3 days after become they are in EST timezone and I'm PST. Found out they scheduled a technician on a random day and random time. Tried to contact the technician to reschedule for two days. The technician never pick up the phone, return the call and the voicemail was full. I had to contact Choice again, this time the technician came, I paid $75 and did the inspection. Now Choice refuses to fix it because they claim my home inspection report said the faucet was leaking before the house was purchased, and the leak at the divider under the sink is on the same pipe and therefore it is the same issue. I wonder why they didn't say that when I filed the claim or before I paid the technician for inspection? And I think their reason is not valid because the entire house is on the same pipeline, so their can use the same reason not to fix any leak in the future. Faucet leak is totally a different thing from pipe divider leak at the upstream. I believe this company is a scam. Dont buy your warranty from them, they will use ridiculous reasons to reject your claim and waste your $ and time. And I believe the high reviews you can find somewhere else are fake.
Answer: 2-10 is more expensive but of very good value. Good people. Our plumber has recommended Old Republic. I do not know anything about them though.
Answer: A definite scam. Will not pay, use any excuse to not pay. Takes days to acknowledge a service company is being assigned. Service personnel will not work for them as they do not get paid.
