I post a question on Chegg and the answer I got is ( Please give few minutes i will re upload the answer. I am facing technical issue so that's why i asking time, please trust mei will reupload the answer.) when I talked to customer service they said sorry sorry sorry that all they can answer when I asked for a refund for the question they said sorry we cant you accede the limit of it. One of them said don't depend on Chegg because it not always has correct answer. So now I lost the question also didn't get a refund. Is that how u deal with your customers?
I rented two books, anatomy and physiology and physiology, from Chegg. I lost them during the move back home and i understandingly paid for the books because i did not return them in time. I also had to pay some late fees because i didn't tell Chegg they were lost but i found them about a month after they were due so i called Chegg and they very helpfully said that they would give me my WHOLE refund back for both books and take away the late fees for me. Everything was super easy and the customer service people are so kind and helpful i felt like i was really being understood when they talked to me. I would recommend Chegg to college students looking to rent textbooks because they were so easy to return when i found my books. There isn't a single bad thing i have to say about Chegg. I couldn't be happier about my experience with Chegg and i will definitely be back next year to rent again. :)
I am really disappointed in the services chegg offers, the company is a joke, they been charging my account from feb-nov without my approval to do so. I canceled the subscription then they re-activated my account without my approval. Charging me all this time. Don't subscribe with chegg, quizlet is the best and I recommend everyone reading this to stop and ditch chegg it's a scam. Very disgusted with the lies and service. They don't deserve even a rating.
Please do not use this service - they take your money. Do not confirm your email so when you want to log in you can't and it won't allow you unless you have an email. Customer service get you to try logging into AppleID even when you tell them you don't have it and make up excuses then stop communicating. I lost $28. I used paypal and lodged a dispute for a refund.
I was charged 14.95 via paypal with an email notification then mysteriously charged an additional 1.44 from paypal with no email notification. The "help" I received with non applicable to my situation and I was given one page of somebody's scribbled, illegible notes on a piece of lined paper. I requested a refund and was refunded the 1.44 and sent an email that the 14.95 was refunded when it wasn't. I have wasted my time having to file complaints with paypal. Chegg has no managers and they repeatedly put you through to the same belligerent group of people who waste your time. They cannot explain why they charged the 1.44 and didn't refund the 14.95. Turn and run from these con artists.
I am so disappointed with chegg services. I don't want to give them even less than a star. I never did a negative review but chegg deserves it. So I subscribed last month for a month and opt out for auto renews. But today these guys charges me without any permission. These guys have access to your cards even u opt out for autorenew. So they charged me i got a mail about it and i started a chart with their customer service team. They said their system is updated. They can't do the refund. So all they guys can do is charge u without your permission but they cant do the refund. Seriously!. Please don't buy chegg.
What you go to a store and you don't buy anything but the teamor the authorities at the store charge you. Don't u guys think its fraud.
I love chegg! They have fast shipping even if you only pay for standard shipping. I always find my book the following day at my doorstep. Once you return the book to the ups they keep track of it right away and alert chegg right away. Chegg sends an email that tells you that ups received your rented book and that it's been postmarked. You don't have to worry about knowing whether they will receive the rented book or not because chegg does all the work for you! I loveeeeee chegg!
Very disapponted from this "educational" platform with majority of answers are wrong and they have no interest on any refund! This is a horrible way of doing business! Education without integrity is horrible model of business!
It has a wide collection of questions and answers. Be careful as it has questions only with no answer. Every time we google certain questions it comes up in Chegg, that's where it tempts you to sign up with Chegg to get an answer. Once you signup no answer and although you could ask Chegg's tutor they will take 2 working days and comes up with no answer. Their reply will provide more details. Refunding is not an option so it's totally waste of money and time.
I honestly thought it would be a "monthly" subscription, but it literally ends after checking 5 problems or lasted a few hours.
I resubscribed and it did the same thing.
So it's honestly a waste of money. It is helpful but it's just such a scam.
They say you will get service and answer quick they do not provide answer when you need it so no point to spend money over something you do not get and when you can't find and try to cancel service they will cancel but say we will still charge you for entire month even you did not use that month or only just subscribing for 5 minutes they are charging and not refunding the amount you paid. Ridiculous customer service and no help. So I highly recommand if you are not sure do not buy or get into the trap of getting help with assignments.
Seriously I do not understand how they are still in business. They will still your money I promise you that!, and they have the worst customer service ever BY FAAAAR!. My books just despaired on me for no reason in the middle of the semester and they never answer my questions right. One star is even too much for them I wish I can give them negative five starts, not just ZERO.
I love chegg. I never had a problem with chegg. They fix all my issues! You ppl have to learn and understand Its only certain things customer service reps can do. They fix all my problems to the best they can, and I am okay with that. I had a chegg study membership That I forgot to cancel and the young lady mention they do not issue refunds and I am okay with that. She placed me on hold and came back with great news, She refunded me for 3 months that I did not use she stated that was the max she could do and her supervisor approved it, which is understandable.! #CheggRocks
Never was she sent a confirmation of the continued billing. Even her initial confirmation email only stated FREE SUBSCRIPTION. Once discovered cancelled the subscription and called and spoke to a representative and immediately they refunded 3 months. I asked what about the other 12 months? Said there was nothing she can do about that. Asked to speak to a supervision she put me on hold. Came back a few minutes latter and told me that they said that would be all they could do as well. I asked if I could speak to the person and she put me on hold and then a Jamal came to the phone and basically said there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak to the manager and he said there wasn't anyone hire up than him, he was the end of the line. We basically went round and round for 20 minutes or so and then he ended to call. Unbelievable!

I sold an accounting textbook to chegg, as they quoted the best price and seemed to be somewhat reliable. After calling in to their customer service after 4 weeks and not having received payment for my book, I was informed that they could not find my boook in their inventory system. I have the UPS delivery confirmation showing that they received the book and someone signed for it. Despite them having taken possession of my book, they hold me at fault for lost product in their warehouse system and refuse to pay me as promised. Keep in mind, I only have their word that my book did not make it into their inventtory system, they could easily have taken my book and are now claiming it was lost. Better off selling to your local school bookstore.
I cancelled my Chegg account in January of 2022 after 1 month of service. When I went to log on to cancel the subscription, the site told me I had never made any purchases and there was no subscription to purchase. On February 8th, 2022, I saw a new pending charge and called Chegg customer service. The representative at the time was helpful and communicated that she also didn't see a live subscription and that she would cancel the charge. By February 20th, I still hadn't received a refund and I re-contacted Chegg where I was told the subscription was cancelled on February 8th and non-refundable. The site in general was just ok but this experience has been infuriating over $17.07. Be careful putting a credit card on Chegg.
I started my chegg account in 2017, I kept it open and closed on and off until April 2020.
In 2019 I started getting duplicate charges every month to a credit card I don't look at the statements. I found this out in April when I went and looked at the statement.
Turned out SOMEHOW a duplicate account was made of mine missing just ONE letter of the email. $250 of charges that chegg will NOT refund. I did not create this account, I have had the same account open from 2017.

Will take your money then lock you out of your account not allowing you to gain access at all saying you where sharing your profile when you only log in using your phone and laptop. Conected to gmail to log in. $#*! this shady $#*!y company just trying to make a buck off students
I rented a book in September 2017 sent it back in December before the due date they charged me a late fee. I called costumer service a teller said it was their mistake I received a refund of 12.00. In February 2018 the charged me 192.00 I cancelled my bank card i never received a refund. It's April they chegg once again charged me 192.00 I don't know how they received my new debit card number. I'm going to have to deal with this once again.

Answer: The monthly money is for an additional service. You can opt out of it at the time of your order. Supposedly. Check other reviews. Many of them say they were still charged after canceling the service. My best suggestion is to stay away from Chegg if at all possible.
