Before paying I could see who I wanted info on BUT as soon as I paid that person is NO LONGER found!

I signed up for the trial to look up a childhood neighbor of mine, who has since passed away. CheckThem was the only site who had reports on this person. I pulled a basic report, which showed the person's birth date and several arrest records that the family has hidden from the state's public case search. The report didn't reveal the death or a date, which is fine because there were no online obituaries or announcements of death. I was worried about cancelling, but had no problems when I emailed the support contact.

Not only could I not find some people but what info they did have was incomplete and incorrect. Canceled right away as I saw there was a money back guarantee, boy was I foolish falling for that bull. Email "didn't go through" and no one will answer the phone. Worst 2.99 I ever spent. I will be canceling my card ASAP and I suggest you do the same. They've been known to charge cards randomly at random amounts. STAY FAR FAR AWAY.

I have asked repeatedly, followed their opt out and they still have my profile on the site. This is the only site that will not remove my personal information for security reasons

$35 down the drain. This is 100% con company. They mislead people. You think you are paying 3 dollars (which is what their false ads and pop up windows say) but they charge you $35 right away. The report was very general and vague. CheckThem is not a reputable and legit site. It's a plain rip off. I regret signing up for this bull crap.

Deceptive in the trial Statement.
I bank locked my car out asking me if the charges will legitimate because they have had like charges from them before.
I said nope run it.
They claim it's a 5-day trial. They charge my card on the 5th day.
Been offered only charge me $9.99 a month to keep me from canceling my account.
So charged me $34 month why not just charge $9.99 to begin with.
Charges disputed cards canceled.

My card was fraudulently used for this service i have tried to call numerous times and have sent email. Phone says no agents avalible and hangs up. No response on email. 104.00 was charged on my card. 34.52 x3 im filling a police report against this bussiness.

Do not use! This is a complete scam--You think you are paying $2.99 for a report and before you know it, they are charging you $35/month. No report downloaded--completely useless. Rip-off, scam, fraud.

Called to cancel and says "non-working number". After disputing charge, have to cancel card.

Out of date info, plus impossible to cancel! Worst thing I ever did. Don't even think about using them. They tell me they can't cancel the service that i have to go to paypal. Paypal says they can; t do it. Reporting as fraud to my credit card.

I used a $2.99 special offer for a background check on an employee. Report was worthless and they started charging my card for $ 35 per month. I called and advised them of that and they said they would cancel. Never happened! So far, 5 charges for total $175. I cancelled card and now in dispute with these crook! DON'T DO IT

I signed up and paid the 2.99 just to get an email address. Having read the terms and conditions, I am mediately attempted to cancel my membership, but inexplicably the link was broken and I got an error message. The error message directed me to email customer support, which I did immediately and also an 800 number that was a nonworking number. This is absolutely criminal. I have no idea how this company is in business. I have I reached out to customer support via email and phone several times and have had no response. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau if I don't get confirmation soon that I will not be charged any additional fees and my membership isn't that canceled.

Ordered a $2.95 background check and then a $4.95 background check, trying to find a person's prison record. Received an empty report with no data. Next thing I know, my credit card is being billed for $44.85 per month for some scam promotion I never ordered or knew about. When I called they said I failed to cancel the "promotion" within five days. How do you cancel something you didn't know you "had" and never ordered?

How can a company such as this be allowed to operate this way? Total scam and rip off.

Of course the credit card company says to "rectify" the situation with the "merchant."

Now these thieves have my credit card number. STAY AWAY!

Law firms typically rely on services like LexisNexis which are overpriced for finding information on people. CheckThem and similar services offer the same data for a fraction of the cost. If you need to run searches quite often then their monthly program is worth the cost. If you're looking to just run a single report their trial is only a few bucks. We use their service in our law firm and it's much cheaper than any other alternative.
