CheckPeople.com presents a mixed reputation among its users. On the positive side, many customers appreciate the quality and accuracy of the background checks, citing detailed reports and useful information that can be difficult to find elsewhere. However, significant concerns arise regarding deceptive billing practices, with numerous complaints about unauthorized subscription charges and difficulties in canceling services. Customer service experiences are often criticized for being unresponsive or overly focused on upselling rather than addressing issues. Overall, while some users find value in the service, the prevalent negative feedback highlights a need for greater transparency and improved customer support.

Used it while selling items in my neighborhood via Facebook marketplace. It is a good tool but can be pricey if you do not have major consistent use for it.
Cannot complain about this reverse phone number lookup by checkpeople. It worked for me to discover some spamy numbers that were calling my cell phone
Pretty good customer service, sometimes a little difficult to communicate with but they helped me cancel my account and i am happy to have used the service in the meantime.
I've been using this service for over 2 years, and it's definitely aided me a great amount. My one biggest complaint, is that it is a little clunky on my mobile phone.
I wanted to see if my criminal record was still visible online and used checkpeople to see what was in their database. To my surprise my record was not in their system.
The reporting options are pretty good and I found enough information that i needed to justify the price tag.
I do not really understand some of the low reviews. Sure the website isn't the prettiest and when you ask to cancel they try to give you a nice discount.
Everyday these people from "people checkers" would run my debit card and try to take out between $38 and $48 at least three times a day the services I did not ask for. Then they try to tell me that If I wanted it to stopped pay a one time fee of $38. Good thing that my bank wasn't having it and declined every time they try to to take money out of my account. Don't trust this company
Checked myself and the site said I have criminal record in New York. Not true. Called to cancel my account but the pushy person I spoke to refused to cancel the account. Finally got it canceled.
Awful experience and I'm still paying for it. I wanted info on a particular person. Found them and intel said they had two criminal charges - or whatever the wording was. So I took the bait and signed up for the $1 intro offer. After signing up and opening all their info there were NO criminal charges on this person. What?! The old bait and switch - I fell for it! Then my card was charged $27 and not the $1. Plus an additional $6.99 for wanting a PDF of the report.
BUT to top it off I started receiving spam mail within hours after giving Check People my info. I haven't received this type of disgusting spam mail in years. I've reached out to Check People about removing my email from their list and stopping selling my info. It's been over a month and I'm still receiving spam mail.
I signed up thinking I was going to be able to background check myself for $1 then immediately checked my back statement only to find out I had be charged $6.99 plus another charge for $29.17. They definitely scam you out of your money! I argued with them over the charges for awhile and the people you get on the phone when you call for some reason can't refund all your money. They make you jump through hoops to get it and send an email to someone else to dispute it. Complete scam!
I have to admit i was very skeptical when using this at first but it was a really good tool for reverse phone number lookup. Once I received all the information that I needed, it was easy for me to reach out and cancel my subscription as I was aware that they automatically rebill
For just 1$ you can try the service. Then they charge you 29$ a month until you catch them. If you give them your credit card number, be sure to check your statement for the unexpected charge.
Renting isn't always easy. You don't know if the person is lying to you or not. Check People has saved my bacon more than once.
This website offers a $1 trial but when I checked my account I had been charged twice, one charge being $29.17 and the other being $6.99. Use a different website.
Canceling was just as easy as signing up. Got the info I wanted and I done with it for now. If I ever need to. I know where to go for quality background checks.
I was searching for my information through the site. I got the full information what i wanted. I love the tool and way it's too easy.
You falsely advertise the cost of your services. It states that a 1 dollar charge is all it cost and then a 29 dollar charge taken from my account. When I called to report the incident. I was told they would only refund a portion of the fee. Shame on your business practices and shame for stealing from the American people. Our Nation is in a pandemic and your greed and fraudulent advertising is a sin. Shame on your company and all the people that work for a company like yours!
You get charged 39 after a few days plus some bogus future charge. The one buck is just a review. You have to call to cancel. Nothing on site to cancel
Checkpeople was very useful at helping me find some alumni from our university for our very special reunion.
Answer: Scam! Beware, they will drain your bank before you even have a chance to notice!
Answer: I had to cancel my card with my bank and file 3 claims before I got $4.33 back. But, Check people will say they didn't take it and say that you have to do a 3 way call for them to verify. I don't know about you, but I'm a complete idiot when it comes to technology.
Answer: BECAUSE THIS COMPANY WILL RIP YOU OFF! CALL YOUR CARD HOLDER IMMEDIATELY AND STOP PAYMENT!
Answer: Report them to the FCC. I did. They say they'll charge you one amount, then go nuts on your card.
