CheckPeople.com presents a mixed reputation among its users. On the positive side, many customers appreciate the quality and accuracy of the background checks, citing detailed reports and useful information that can be difficult to find elsewhere. However, significant concerns arise regarding deceptive billing practices, with numerous complaints about unauthorized subscription charges and difficulties in canceling services. Customer service experiences are often criticized for being unresponsive or overly focused on upselling rather than addressing issues. Overall, while some users find value in the service, the prevalent negative feedback highlights a need for greater transparency and improved customer support.

I was one day late in cancelling and called to see if they could refund my charge and I am glad it all worked out in the end.
I was hesitant at first to use a background checker to make sure the person that I was buying a car from on marketplace was legit. I am glad, I did and it saved me a few headaches.
I spoke to a very polite customer service agent that helped me rapidly solve my payment issue. Thank you checkpeople.
Very quick in responding, fast in processing, and has great customer service. Any and all issues and inquiries are dealt with quickly and professionally. I couldn't say enough great about them.
After a scammer kept calling my phone I had enough of dealing with him and reverse checked the phone number and found the person that was bothering me.
It was very easy to cancel once I was done using the tool. Customer service was friendly and helpful.
I would totally recommend checkpeople's background checker for anyones curious personal needs of verification.
Completely worthless site.
-Completely worthless report
-Charged more than was listed
-Charged an aditional amount without permission
-Sold my card data
+$400 other charges due that
*Thankfully my bank is smart and caught these ASAP.
+customer service leaves much to be desired.
Do not use this service at all.
This site tried to charge $29 for initial trial although it's advertised for $1. Thankfully my cc declined it and sent me a fraud alert.
Tried to do a search went through the payment and then it tells me I'm banned for violating the dos and don'ts how can i violate something without even getting passed the payment screen before being banned?
I signed up for the 7 day free trial, canceled after 3 days and they continued to take $29.15 for 3 months. Everytime I called customer service they would sound like they wanted to help you but in reality they aren't. The weird thing is the employees sounded like they from India but when I asked what country their from, he said Florida, thats BS! I had to call my bank and they had to take charge. Don't go through what I did. Their are plenty of other reviews on this site that say the same thing, I wish I would have read them before this nightmare. You've been warned. The other positive reviews are probably from employees that work there.
It's quick and easy to use. It did contain some info that i found to be not useful, but all in all was worth it.
BEWARE of unbelievably deceptive pricing! They advertise the report as a one-time $1 charge but in the fine print they sign you up for a monthly reoccurring charge of $30 if you do not "cancel" within 3 business days. There is no mention on their website that you are being charged after you accidentally sign up. No mention of a credit card being on file or any mention of recurring monthly charges like any other website with a subscription model. The fact that you can't cancel on the website or see that you are subscribed to a monthly charge on the website is a clear indication that their business is dependent on people not knowing that they are being charged. In fact when I go to the website it asks me if I want to "enable" monthly reporting when in reality it has been enabled all long without being reflected on the website.
I'm out $90 because of their shady business practices
I do quite a few background checks so it's worth paying the subscription instead of paying for each search/report separately.
The website works as advertised and I was able to find public records that I was looking for. I am very happy.
Free trial was great as it helped me find some old school mates from 15 years ago. Very happy with the service.
Super simple to use and very nice report given once I ran my search. Very helpful to me with the report I submitted.
I had called customer service to help me with cancellation when I was finished and they were easy to deal with.
Never thought I would be writing a review but the website really helped so solve an issue with a spammer calling me all the time.
They trick you into signing in with $1 so they can charge you $30 monthly afterward. Never before have I encountered such disgusting business practices. Then the representative I talked to said I had to read the fine print? How does this company live with themselves stealing from hard working people? I only wanted an address history for myself. Not worth the $70 plus that was stolen from my account.
Answer: Scam! Beware, they will drain your bank before you even have a chance to notice!
Answer: I had to cancel my card with my bank and file 3 claims before I got $4.33 back. But, Check people will say they didn't take it and say that you have to do a 3 way call for them to verify. I don't know about you, but I'm a complete idiot when it comes to technology.
Answer: BECAUSE THIS COMPANY WILL RIP YOU OFF! CALL YOUR CARD HOLDER IMMEDIATELY AND STOP PAYMENT!
Answer: Report them to the FCC. I did. They say they'll charge you one amount, then go nuts on your card.
