CheckPeople.com presents a mixed reputation among its users. On the positive side, many customers appreciate the quality and accuracy of the background checks, citing detailed reports and useful information that can be difficult to find elsewhere. However, significant concerns arise regarding deceptive billing practices, with numerous complaints about unauthorized subscription charges and difficulties in canceling services. Customer service experiences are often criticized for being unresponsive or overly focused on upselling rather than addressing issues. Overall, while some users find value in the service, the prevalent negative feedback highlights a need for greater transparency and improved customer support.

I signed up for ONE month and was charged again and had to dispute it. Foreign people on phone line and difficult to understand. The information I saw on the people I checked was very out dated by at least 4 years and was not accurate at all. All legal matters were incomplete and did not show resolution. Volunteer organizations associated with person were totally bogus... not a single one was true and must have been from some other person. THIS IS A WASTE of time and has been reported many times to BBB.
Info was spot on. Site easy to use and find what your looking for. Really like there no gimmicks approach. I even looked myself up. Great site.
I only called in once for some help and the rep was amazing. Helped me with an issue I was having with my credit card. Great customer service.
Just another one of these scam companies that promise the fee is only $1.00 and then you find a $29.99 charge on your credit card. I guess they hope that you will not notice the charge. Just a total waste of time because their service was crap anyway. I got the same info from a simple Google search.
DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO!
Their the worse. Charge my account 3 different payment. Then I cancel it. Then went back n Charge again for $29 before the month. It's a rip off. I'd use this service use a repaid car.
So i decided to give this a try to see what actually pops up on a background check for myself.

The main info I did see was a speeding ticket from 2012 still on my record, other than that nothing of value was learned.
Scams u for info on the person then tells u nothing but to give them a credit card and money. Scam all the way
Customer service was great for me. Was able to have all my questions answered, and also got some insight on how to make the most of my plan.
This is the only site that will not honor opt-out requests. You fill out their form and then they contact you via email asking you to confirm the opt-out. You confirm the opt-out and they ignore you.
Their BBB review is rated F. That is a red flag and one should not do business with them.
Next step is filing with the Illinois Attorney General.
Fantastic site! I've been doing some online dating recently and my mother mentioned that the idea of me going out and meeting up with strangers made her a bit nervous. I decided to look online for a way for me to get more information about the people I was talking to, and Check People doesn't disappoint!
Set up account. They charged me 4.99 then next day charged 29.99. After being charged said I already have an account.
This stupid company steal you with $1 and then they charge you $6.99 and if you do not cancel your card they keep charging you $29.15 be aware with this damn company $#*! company!
Not only do they advertise "free" public records check but it takes you through a 20 minute long stunt, just to bring you to a charge of $30 a month. But wait there's more, if you only charge $5 dollars now you can can be charged $30 in 3 days, what a deal! My eyes couldn't roll harder.
I tried it and I just wanted to see what it said about my dad's criminal charges and even though he charged with 37 years and has been in prison for multiple felonies for over 5 years it only had to show me a dismissed traffic ticket from 15 years ago. This site is hot garbage.
Info that I got seems to be complete and accurate. As this was a one time background check I cancelled the service shortly after and had no issues.
They say its 1 dollar for first use. They charge you 29.99 on your card. This service is a scam and gives you no pertinent info!
Helpful, useful information. Got what I needed so I'm happy. Cancelling was a easy and I know if I need the service in the future I can count on Check People.
I have check the address of my best friend who's l lost contact on 9/7/21 and being promised to pay 1$ for 7 days trial. What a surprise was waiting for me today 9/11/21 when I check my account 29.17$ already charged? Date for charge is 9/13/21. Reaching customer service another "nice" experience. Michelle not even listening my request for cancellation was continuing her speech with further advertising?!?!?! Poor practice and culture
My worse experience with a service. I only agree to pay $1, and the $30 monthly charge was hidden and nowhere in sight, to see it. I understand that we can overlook the fine print, but any organization will understand and work/help the custumer, but not them. The way you show that $1 that I agree to pay, show me the other charges so I can AGREE or NOT to pay, and then you won't have to pay all that stuff to take the phone calls from the customers that you tricked into being charged all those fees.
If you do the math, you will be better off this way.
I did this because it said 1 dollar, later finding out they charged me 6.99 and 29.17. Price sure rose. I called to cancel, the guy stated that he could only refund me the 29.17 and it could take up to 25 days to get credit back to my bank. Now the next day I get another charge for 1 dollar, are you fricken kidding! Don't do it not worth the rip off
I gave Check People a try and found them easy to work with. While I did get signed up, when I called to inquire they issued me a refund. It's helpful as I don't use the service all that often.
Answer: Scam! Beware, they will drain your bank before you even have a chance to notice!
Answer: I had to cancel my card with my bank and file 3 claims before I got $4.33 back. But, Check people will say they didn't take it and say that you have to do a 3 way call for them to verify. I don't know about you, but I'm a complete idiot when it comes to technology.
Answer: BECAUSE THIS COMPANY WILL RIP YOU OFF! CALL YOUR CARD HOLDER IMMEDIATELY AND STOP PAYMENT!
Answer: Report them to the FCC. I did. They say they'll charge you one amount, then go nuts on your card.
