CheckPeople.com presents a mixed reputation among its users. On the positive side, many customers appreciate the quality and accuracy of the background checks, citing detailed reports and useful information that can be difficult to find elsewhere. However, significant concerns arise regarding deceptive billing practices, with numerous complaints about unauthorized subscription charges and difficulties in canceling services. Customer service experiences are often criticized for being unresponsive or overly focused on upselling rather than addressing issues. Overall, while some users find value in the service, the prevalent negative feedback highlights a need for greater transparency and improved customer support.

The service has been very accurate for me so far. Found out a lot about people I've just met. You can never be too careful.
Found multiple unauthorized charges an my bank statement from this company. Please be aware of ALL the fine print. The website is unclear and there are a lot of hidden fees.
I used checkpeople. Com as a free trial they have charged my credit card four times and now are charging me to stop charges I tried to cancel my subscription wit them before the trial period had ended and yet they continue to charge me these are the worst kind of crooks in America they should all be locked up their nothing short of thrives
Some alright info. But pretty outdated. And too expensive for what's offered. I called and got a discount for 6 months. Also I do in it can be wrong or misleading I looked myself up and things said we're not right
The professionalism of the customer service here is amazing. Had my call taken quickly and handled all my issues. Really good service.
They offered me to run a check for $1, but charged me $30. I called & disputed it, all they kept trying to do was sell me more despite being unhappy in the charges. I cancelled the account, it didn't help at all. I'm glad I used a card I don't frequent, as they used my account to buy $40 in Chipotle 1,400 miles away from where I live. It made it really easy to narrow down the one place who recently gotten my card info.
Information for my address is 25 YEARS OUT-OF-DATE: they are showing people that haven't lived here since 1997 as currently here. This gives you an example of this company's value and their data integrity.
They were able to quickly refund me after I realized I didn't cancel after using the service. No issues to report. If I ever need a quick background check I know here I'm going.
Google found the best sites for 2022 and check people was number one so I answered it was a dollar for a 5 day free trial so I signed up it says hit continue so I hit continue and as it goes to the next page I notice a $6.99 thing so I hit the back button before the page could unload force it was too late stupid me but still that's only 799 it states were charging you 699 from limited PDF this will be the one and only charged a lever have for this okay. Then something pops up that states that my account is suspended because I did one of their Do's or don'ts. It states you should check yourself out that's exactly what I was doing I put my name my email for the person who's looking for my name my email the person is credit cards there my name is email. I don't know what this is about. So I go to my bank account there's a 699 they charge me and then they charge me $29.15 then it shows that they put the 699 back in my account reversed it and reverse the 2915 in which the 2915 is not their regular monthly subscription anyways. I called my bank they said they declined the 699 and the 2915 was automatically Reverse by them after that. They said they would not charge me again unless I authorize that there's going to be no more charges from them and I thought you know what I don't want to ever go back to that site again because when they're telling me it's a dollar for a five-day trial and my bank account shows they tried to charge me $29.15 and an additional 699 for that I think their shysters. So now I want to go back to Google and find out who recommended these people as the number one place of 2022 because I'll never look up them for Consumer Reports either
They were suppose to charge $1, but they charged me $29.15. Then I called to cancel and get a refund, they said they canceled and refunded, they even gave me confirmation number, but they didn't. I had to decline the charge at the bank. Now I've got to call back to cancel again. Hopefully they won't stay in business.
So far so good. The info I've been getting has been accurate. I will continue to use the service as it gives me peace of mind in knowing who I'm really dealing with.
This is a scam they say $1 to get your first results and behind your back they take $30 to $40 out of your account and when you try to call them they put you on hold and then hang up on you, thank God I used a credit card that only had one dollar on it but I got an email stating that they tried to steal $30 from my card, i was to smart for their petty scam but nice try lol. DO NOT TRUST THIS SERVICE
DO NOT EVEN TEST THEM OUT, they have hidden charges.
I looked up my info and others' info and the info was wildly wrong, says stuff about me that isn't true, if someone used their service and looked me up they would have someone else's info and look at me differently. Also was missing almost all important info about a person, each time I searched. I gave them a chance and looked up other info and the same deal. I canceled a few days later online, sent them msgs I wanted a refund and they ignored me. Several days later I finally was able to call and the guy Steve was nice but when I explained what was going on they couldn't do anything, also the couple charges of like $3 and $6 were not even considered for a refund, because I had kept them a couple of days they only would give me a 50% refund. I told him fine I will be writing horrible reviews on every site because you are a scam.
They want your money and ARE NOT legit. THIS IS A SCAM.
I'm not that great with my smart device, so I called in and had customer service walk me through and help me understand. The lady was very patient with me. Happy Holidays and Thank You!
I've gone back 3 months, didn't know why they kept charging me, finding people was good. But then I was banned no explanation, I'm trying to terminate the account
Don't get scammed like many others. I was helping a find who wanted to run a background on her new boyfriend. We found checkpeople and thought that $1 was good. When I got my statement from the bank I was charged $29.17 and didn't say anything because I figured we missed something. I will be the first to admit I do not look closely at my statements but will now. I done this check in May and have been charged $29.17 for the last 7 months and I had no idea. I never went back to the site. I called immediately when I noticed this on my cards and can say they got me. I went back to the site and couldn't find where this says its a monthly subscription but it is buried in a hyperlink below the very very small writing below where you put your credit card info. The link says "BILLING TERMS" and is in blue. When you click on the hyper-link it actually comes up in normal size that a human can actually read unlike the writing that tells you how to get this information. BEWARE! I ask for a refund and it was denied. Yes, I accept that this was partly my fault that I didn't check my account but this is dishonest! I tried to attach a picture showing where to find this info but the photo is too large. When you get to the screen where you put your credit card info below is a box that you must check that says "By clicking "VIEW MY REPORT". Go to the second to last sentence and you will see "BILLING TERMS" which is in blue. Click on this which will take you to the terms that says this is a monthly subscription of $29.17 per month. BE CAREFUL AND DON"T FALL VICTIM!
Had some charges on my credit card that seemed off to me. I called the customer service and we were able to get it all sorted out.
Billing terms states a charge for $1.00 then AFTER 5 days a monthly charge of $29.17. THIS IS A LIE! THEY CHARGE YOU IMMEDIATELY $29.17. Also, if you choose to download a PDF there is another hidden charge for $6.99. I read the billing terms. They did not uphold to their own terms which is illegal and fraudulent. I recorded the conversation and will pursue further if they ever charge me again. I fought for a refund immediately!
Sorry, your site is really bad! Morgan died three years ago. You really need to be current. I'm just guessing, but I don't think this review will make it into your site. T. R. Roberts
Was banned before ever signed in. Finally fixed. Used for 2 hrs. (for unlimited use) and was temporarily terminated. After 3 days of no one contacting me back, tried to cancel and was offered $20 off if I'd stay, but apparently was still temporarily terminated. No one would answer email to straighten out. Called again to cancel and was told I was permanently banned. THEN I see an email to tell me that I had violated rules. All I did was look at friends and family like they encourage. Beyond frustrating. Forgot…I also was sent a response to someone else's problem that they were having.
Answer: Scam! Beware, they will drain your bank before you even have a chance to notice!
Answer: I had to cancel my card with my bank and file 3 claims before I got $4.33 back. But, Check people will say they didn't take it and say that you have to do a 3 way call for them to verify. I don't know about you, but I'm a complete idiot when it comes to technology.
Answer: BECAUSE THIS COMPANY WILL RIP YOU OFF! CALL YOUR CARD HOLDER IMMEDIATELY AND STOP PAYMENT!
Answer: Report them to the FCC. I did. They say they'll charge you one amount, then go nuts on your card.
