I ordered one thing that did not fit. This apparently signed me up for a "rewards program WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT, which cost me $20 monthly! --all for the priviledge of receiving a few discounts that I don't want and are no where near $20 a month in automatic unsolicited charges! Also They sell your information to everyother catalog company out there. And finally when you call customer serivce which you must do to cancel your rewards... they will not take any feedback. --Clear Evidence that they do not care how customers experience their products or dishonest programs. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DISHONEST TRICKY COMPANY WHO WILL CHARGE YOU WITHOUT YOUR CLEAR CONSENT OR KNOWLEDGE UNTILL YOU CATCH IT MONTHS LATER!
Received a dress, decided to return, poor fit. After the $39.99 price of item, $3.74 tax (ok) then added $11.99 shipping and handling, $1.50 carrier surcharge, and then will charge $10.95 to return. Never will shop with Charwicks again...will use reliable vendors with free or better shipping policies
Will never buy from Chadwicks again. Ridiculous charge for shipping in comparison to other online retailers. After being overcharged for shipping, one item did not fit and had to be returned for credit. Chadwicks deducted $10.95 for the return shipping. On top of that was told it would take 4 to 6 weeks for refund.
The shipping to and the return shipping constituted almost 64% of what the item sold for. Check the reviews - they have a rating of less than 2. Pathetic!
I placed an order on 9/1. I paid extra for expedited shipping because they are usually slow. It shipped on 9/6. One main item was backordered. I requested an update via the website with no response. The process does not work well. I finally called on 9/15 and was told I can expect it the end of December. This is completely unsatisfactory. I would never have placed the order if I had known this was the case. Now I will certainly be very hesitant to ever place another order with Chadwicks again due to poor communication, less than honest practices and unhelpful customer services.
Held up my order due to Initials weren't right on an Amazon Card. Then gave them American Express and made sure all was perfect. Now 10 days later on a 2 day rush order I paid for its still sitting there not approved. Customer Service said I have to speak with Main Office to release my order. Can U believe? Im in CA and they are only open 9-4:45 Eastern Time. This is the very last time I will buy from them and may cancel my order.
I had two representatives to lie to me. I talked to a representative on 04-18 24 about the shipping fee was too high. He said to me, I would give you a refund of 13.49 shipping fee as a one time courtesy, so on
04-23-24, I called again to follow up and another representative told me, yes I see in the notes you're going to get your refund. I called again on 04-30-24, and spoke to another representative, she said nobody processed a Refund. Both of Chadwicks representative lied. Also I ordered a rose color top, it looked pink when I received it and the representative said it would be 10.19 to return it. The top cost 18 + dollars.
I do not recommend this company to anyone.
I bought a few pants and they did not work out for me so, I returned them. They charge you for all returns and they do not specify this info. They charged me $31.92 for returns on my items! This is insane! I will NEVER purchase from Chadwick again. Terrible. They are in business solely from making money on returns. I wish I could give a zero star.
I had a merchandise credit from Chadwicks of Boston. Customer Service refused to honor it as they bought Chadwicks of Boston a couple of years ago. They say they have nothing to do with any credits or prior orders. Apparently they bought the name only but not the "good will" of the customers.
Items will not ship as described and yet they will not let me cancel despite the items not having left their warehouse yet. Basically their stance is if your order is confirmed, it can't be cancelled despite it not being shipped weeks past the order date. Buyer beware!
Never never ever would I purchase another item from this totally mismanaged company trying to return item n trying to communicate with people from the Philippines was stressful. I recommend u stay away from this company. Wish I could rate a zero!
I ordered from Chadwicks a bathing suit on January 27th 2023. It arrived February 8 which it was a wrong size. I was charged $68.33 for the transaction. I just called on March 14th to be told the form I filled out, the time to return the item for a larger size was never recognized, I was never notified the new suit I requested was not being process, a refund on my card for $43.29 was sent on February 28th. Where is the other $25.04? Does it indicate on the order form that they would charge the customer a "shipping fee" or what ever they choose to charge a customer for literally doing business with this customer? If I had not chosen to call this company and point out the difference of what they absconded with, the $25.04 I would never would have even noticed. I love the items from Chadwick's but the company is not worth the hassle and run around. The customer service is horrible, received a gift from my SIL and it was pretty but way to big. I called customer before I shipped it back as I did not want my SIL charged for the return, they said I could pay to ship it back, ok AND they received it and it is still not processed. When I called to inquire I was that I would have to give the credit card information to have it shipped back out… it was a gift I do not have that information. I was told that is our policy and there is nothing else we can do. So now I have to tell my SIL to check her credit card statement to ensure she was credited, which means another good deed gets punished because Chadwick's is incompetent at hiring individuals that can do the job. I will not longer shop with this company as if you do not get the right size the fist time, good luck getting a return.
Many years ago, you could find the occasional cute outfit in the Chadwick's catalog, although even the size small was always too big on me. Today, the company's inventory seems to be exclusively marketed to old women who want to look dowdy. The clothes look either virginal or matronly. They lack any shape, every dress looks like a bag on the model, and good luck finding one that stops above the knee. The colors are mostly pastel and sherbet colors, very little back. I may not be 20 anymore, but I am not ready to dress like a frumpy soccer mom or old religious zealot. If you're like me and you want to look hot when you go out with your friends, hit the gym or sprawl on the beach, enjoy wearing the latest style trends that showcase your figure and black is your go-to hue, don't even consider giving Chadwick's a first glance. Matrons, on the other hand, this catalog seems to have your name all over it.
Stay VERY far away from this company. They will charge you a $14.95 "VIP" charge and not give you online options to cancel or send you an email of any upcoming charges. Customer service is useless. DON'T shop here!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They cancelled my 1st order without notification. Reordered with 2 day delivery. Did not receive my order within the 2 days. Contacted Chadwicks again and they then told me they sent a letter stating they need more information. I told "Lilia" (which I know was not her name) I did not receive letter and why was I not asked when I spoke to her on 11/27/2022 the additional information. She would not answer. They were more than ready to take my credit card for their so called VIP. It didn't take very long for them to charge me for it, without verifying it was me. Requested to speak with supervisor and they were not available to speak with anyone. This is not the Chadwicks that I have bought from before. I recommend that you stay clear of them. There are plenty of clothing stores that know how to treat their customers. My first order number was #K******* the reorder was #W*******.

Regular processing says 7-10 business days to receive (should be overnight at the high cost of shipping).
Still order has not been received. Tracking via their FedEx tracking number, the package is on a very slow truck evidently. The package has gone from Maine to Pennsylvania in 17 days. Can't wait to see how long it will take to arrive on the west coast at this rate.
With the high cost of shipping a "value" item is not a value.

I returned an item for an exchange. Never heard from them. Three months passed. I wrote three emails to them. No reply. I called and could not understand the person on the other end because of the poor connection. I presume it was in another country. I called again to find out my exchange had NEVER been processed but treated as a return. I told the person that I now did not want to make another order and I was done with Chadwicks. The customer service is truly terrible.
I ordered two items from Chadwicks and was charged to ship each item. It's much more economical for me to shop online at Macy's and pick the item up at the store. Why purchase clothing items from Chadwick's when I can get name brands on sale at Macy's cheaper, and they fit better? I purchased this dress and was never able to wear it as it didn't hang evenly. Returning items to Macy's is less stressful. I wouldn't waste my time again shopping at this company.
This company is the worst ever. I had a situation where I did not receive merchandise so I called about it. They would not assist me. I put a hold on the charges with my credit company. Then the package arrived and I call this company and credit card company to say that the package arrived and I will pay for the merchandise. Well they put me on a credit hold for all their magazines as I found out. There level 2 lines are always busy does that tell you something. Finally after maybe 30 times I got through. I have had to provide documentation from the credit card company indicating that I paid the charges which I willingly did. Still that seems to not be enough because my account is locked down. I was working with a Katherine and she is the most nasty person and her follow up is bad. She does not respond to my emails where I send the documentation. I will never buy one single thing from this company and their sister companies. I am having to retain an attorney to get my name clear. This is so ridiculous.
I placed an order with Chadwick's. I received an email on 8 March 2019 telling me the order had shipped. As of this date, I have not received it. Customer Service--and I use that term very loosely--tells me that they can't issue a refund without a claim number from the shipper. The shipper tells me that they can't give me a claim number because Chadwick's did not insure the package. Exactly what Chadwick's did with the $12.00 shipping and handling fee is unclear. How I wish I'd read all these negative reviews about their lack of ethics.
Answer: If the merchandise credit is from Chadwicks of Boston, you lose. I spoke to Level 2 Customer service in Massachusetts and they are not honoring prior merchandise credits from the prior company.
Answer: For winter, I couldn't seem to find lined wool or woolblend pants at my usual go-to shops -- Talbots and Nordstrom -- so I looked online and found some at Chadwick's. I ordered a pair in black in my usual size 8. They were way too small in the waist, so I returned them using Chadwick's enclosed USPS return label, and then ordered a size 10. The size 10s were the same size in the waist as the 8S -- I couldn't believe it! But I had them pressed, thinking I cd. Maybe have them altered. I wore them today, and found that they are cheaply made and that the black attracts lint, dog hair, anything possible that would adhere to the woolblend -- and I pinned the waist closed to make them wearable. My fault -- I should have sent the size 10s back, too, but now it's too late. And Chad's customer service says they still have not received the size 8s I returned, so I have not received a refund for them. Omg. I'm sorry I ordered anything from them. AND, they are billed as $59 but when shipping and other charges are added, they are at least $20 more.
