The dress I bought was- thin material
Shipping is very slow!
I ordered a dress and a shrug on 6/30/23 and on July 14 it still hasn't arrived!
I would have given this site a MUCH better rating if reviewing the company I knew back in the 80's...
I still have some slouchy crewneck tunic sweaters -from way back- that still fit, that still wear, even though after 20 years are faded and starting to unravel.
It is my experience now that such a thing would occur much sooner, that the quality has become negligible.
The sizing was not at all in relation to their new charts, and it then became difficult to know what size to order. (Ditto, Metrostyle and their skinny jeans...) Suddenly what I used to be able to keep had to be returned. They would honor mistakes or damages with free return shipping, but anything else was, what, 6-7 dollars to send back with the pre-paid label.
A few years ago, Chadwick's started modernizing, and I liked the direction they were heading in. They started offering really sweet sweaters and cardigans with embellishments, and returning to COTTON instead of ramie or acrylic blends... but then the prices increased, the promo codes became difficult to come by and they did away with the GREAT outlet site... and LaRedoute...(though LaRedoute is back - do a search.)
I still get the catalog and check from time to time, but what they've had this last year or so is really... boring.
Oh, well. I hope they'll get it together. It makes me sad to see the older companies fade away, when all they need to do is tweak their policies and pay attention to customer feedback.
I returned item for an exchange and was shocked that it cost me almost $11.00. The 2nd dress didn't fit either. It would cost me another $11.00 dollars to return. UGH! No more Chadwicks for me!
I wished I would have found this website before I made an order. I am a first time purchaser from Chadwicks. I am a tall woman and ALWAYS order tall pants. I order two pair of tall pants, three dress shirts and a pair of shorts. I LOVE the dress shirts and the shorts however, they sent me two regular length pants. I called them immediately and was sent to three different reps just to find out that I needed to email customer service. They refused to give me another number (home office). I emailed as directed from the email on the website. I have yet to hear from anyone, so I emailed a second time... still no reply.
I am not feeling too good about ordering from them again if it's going to be this difficult to rectify a situation. I have left my contact information twice. Therefore, they get a zero for customer service until I am proven otherwise. I am forced to give a 1-5 so it's a one because of that.
To add insult to injury... the shipping cost was OUTRAGEOUS and was shipped to the wrong location and had to be sent back and reshipped which made tracking the package impossible. I mentioned that to the first rep that answered and all she could do is apologize and agree that there has been complaints about the shipping cost by other consumers. Well... how does hearing that help me?
CHADWICKS, I either need to be sent TALL pants or refunded for the regular sized pants that you sent me. If you have a problem in your system that defaults your orders to regular... FIX IT! I just think its weird that both of my pants were wrong... don't you? Call me, email me back and FIX this problem!
I wish I looked at the reviews prior to ordering. I placed an order December 24,2021 it was to arrive with 7 to 10 days and I have not received it yet. There was a language barrier. My order was in another town with the wrong name and wrong mailing address.
I told them I could pick it up and that I would like to be Compensated for the inconvenience. They insisted they would overnight my order. I agreed. Once I got home from work the following day (today) it was not here. I called to check on the order again and they told me it was on back order until June! At this point we are in late January. I displayed my frustration asked to speak to a supervisor. He told me his supervisor was in a meeting I told him no he wasn't, he was off for the day because I called after hours he then told me this was true and that I should call back in the morning.
Well I called back again that night and was informed the coat was on back order but it was now in stock again today and I would receive it Friday. I asked to cancel the order and be refunded. We will see how this goes. What a SCAM!
I placed a $600 order on Dec 5th of this year. It contained Christmas gifts. I never recevied any updates on my order. On December 13 I checked my order status only to find it had been cancelled. I called into customer service and replaced the cancelled order. Several items were now on back order. I was assured the items that were in stock would be received before Christmas. On Monday, December 20th I checked on my order status. It was still showing "in process". I again phoned to customer service. The gentleman who took my call spoke with a supervisor regarding my dissatisfaction. He advised me Chadwick's would send my order out overnight. I would receive it by Wednesday, at the latest. Well said package never arrived. When I called to complain I was lied to for the 3rd time. I have cancelled my order and removed myself for any further communications from Chadwick's. I was even a VIP customer. Such poor customer service. No one representing the company even tried to assist me. Now I have no Christmas gifts as it's too late to order from anyone else. SHAME ON CHADWICK'S!
I don't know how Chadwick's is still in business! So incredibly frustrated with the entire shopping experience. Placed an order for a petite coat (from the limited assortment available) almost 30 days ago for my 94 year old godmother. Got a confirmation email that my order was received and being processed. After several weeks of no updates regarding shipping status, called customer service and the rep. Informed me "there was a problem with my credit card" and that is why my order was not processed. Now you would think if that was truly the case the customer would be alerted immediately when the order was first placed (like is standard with all other retailers). No retailer would ever process an order with a problematic credit card! So, I knew this was just a stall tactic. But given how hard it was to find a petite size coat and knowing with COVID there will inevitably be some shipping delays - I decided to give this company the benefit of the doubt. I provided the rep. With the same credit card information again and once reconfirmed she stated I would get an email with updated shipping information shortly. Two more weeks go by. No email, no updates, nothing! I call customer service back again (has now been 30 days since I placed my order) and give her my order # to check on shipping status and she says "we have no record of this order on file." WHAT?! I am staring at the order confirmation email (record) on my computer screen (that Chadwick's sent to me). How can they have no record on file?! Now I know this business is a scam. I ask to speak to her supervisor. She puts me on hold and when she comes back she says "the supervisors are in a meeting right now and will call me back in an hour." WHAT?! Here you have on the line, an incredibly frustrated/disappointed customer, who is trying to give you business and spend their hard earned money with your company, and you don't even have time to speak with them about this botched order?! To whoever is reading this review, save yourself the headache and frustration. DO NOT ORDER from this company ever! We should only reward companies that truly care about their customers with our business.
Placed an order, and 3 weeks later had not heard anything about when it would be shipped. Tried several times over several days to reach customer service via the website link on my order confirmation email, but each time the link basically said "Under maintenance - back soon". Called the ph# provided and was told "that side of the catalog business should be fixed soon". Asked to have my order cancelled, and the rep said they could put in a note/request but could not cancel because "that side of the catalog business is not fixed yet". Then I remembered that back when I ordered, I decided to look into their VIP club so that I could get a free shipping rebate. After completing my order, I clicked the link, but when I read the conditions (which included a monthly charge to my CC for "being in the club"), I declined by backing out of the page. That did not stop them from putting me in the club anyway, and a few days ago received a postcard welcoming me to the club! Even though the postcard said I was not officially enrolled and needed to sign up, by then I didn't trust that spiel, so I called the 800 nbr and asked to cancel. The rep asked for my last name and zip code, which could not be found, and was told "no worries I was not signed up". Fortunately a light bulb went on and I thought to have her check my email address, and lo' and behold there was a VIP account, under my email, even though I never completed a registration. So, that is hopefully cancelled, but I will for sure be checking my CC account the next few months to make sure. Next step is to try to cancel my regular order, and I might end up notifying Better Business Bureau. Everything about this spells fraud to me. Proceed with caution.
I loved Chadwicks before it closed for a year. Now the clothes are ill digging and the materials are cheap. Totally
Answer: If the merchandise credit is from Chadwicks of Boston, you lose. I spoke to Level 2 Customer service in Massachusetts and they are not honoring prior merchandise credits from the prior company.
Answer: For winter, I couldn't seem to find lined wool or woolblend pants at my usual go-to shops -- Talbots and Nordstrom -- so I looked online and found some at Chadwick's. I ordered a pair in black in my usual size 8. They were way too small in the waist, so I returned them using Chadwick's enclosed USPS return label, and then ordered a size 10. The size 10s were the same size in the waist as the 8S -- I couldn't believe it! But I had them pressed, thinking I cd. Maybe have them altered. I wore them today, and found that they are cheaply made and that the black attracts lint, dog hair, anything possible that would adhere to the woolblend -- and I pinned the waist closed to make them wearable. My fault -- I should have sent the size 10s back, too, but now it's too late. And Chad's customer service says they still have not received the size 8s I returned, so I have not received a refund for them. Omg. I'm sorry I ordered anything from them. AND, they are billed as $59 but when shipping and other charges are added, they are at least $20 more.
