I am a small, but not petite, woman. Years ago, I could easily purchase things in my size (which was then called 6). In the meantime, sizeflation has taken over. I purchased a blazer last year in a 4 that is only a little large on me, but the ones I ordered this year in the same size are a good two inches wider and with less shaping. I'm still the same size, but I definitely won't be able to purchase from Chadwicks again. I'm debating whether to pay for alterations or ship them back. They would have been so nice, had they fit like they used to. Not to mention the lower quality fabric, the high shipping fees and slow shipping times... So sad. Given other people's problems with receiving refunds, I guess I'll have the keep the jackets, even if they don't fit.
Shipping and return costs high. Ended up spending almost 1/2 of the cost just to return it because it wasn't as expected or didn't fit. Understand a business can't do things for free but if online is going to be the future be prepared to pay for those things you usually leave behind in the dressing room at the store!
Today I received a partial order from Chadwicks. The Ruched Waist Knit Midi Dress was too large through the shoulders and too long in the waist. The Comfort Waist Pull-On Bootcut Jeans had no give in the waist so were difficult to get on, then they were too short in the rise so sat like hipster pants. Not just below the waist as advertised. I tried to cancel the rest of the order, only to learn that it had shipped today. When I mentioned that their sizing should be consistent, I was transferred to "head office". After waiting on hold for several minutes, all I got was another support person (sounded like they were also from India) who was no further up the food chain than the original person I spoke with. What a waste of time. I think what bothers me the most is that I paid for shipping to receive the items and now I have to pay for shipping to send them back. I've spent $40 for nothing. I will NEVER shop from Chadwick's again.
I placed an order close to $500 dollars. I received a letter of cancellation. Reason: My Apartment Number was on the line before my address. I don't understand how their letter could reach me but my order could not. Makes absolutely no since. Guess they don't need the money.
I have ordered from Chadwick's for several years now and have had NO problems. Sizes are as expected, quality is excellent, the styles are good for a variety of ages without being too trendy. I have had to return previously without any issue. Order from Chadwicks without any worries, you will be satisfied.
Ordered a blazer online 10 days ago. Received a confirmation that I would receive more information within 24 hours. I did not. I called this morning and was sold the system was down and someone would call me back. I did not receive a call and called back 5 hours later. System still down. Asked for a supervisor. Did not get one. Asked if there is any other way to check or does their entire company crumble when their system is down. Was told that there is no other way. I asked when they expect the system to be up and I was told that they "don't know the DATE or time". Both phone calls were clearly overseas because I had to spell my last name several times (it is not difficult). I asked if they were going out of business - sure feels like it - was told "no".
Back in the day (early half of the 90s) I was able to buy many items from Chadwick's for both office and casual wear. The quality was good and the sizing was predictable. I don't really remember shipping charges, but I suppose my lack of memory indicates they weren't awful. I'm disappointed to see these reviews. (I had to pick a star rating, just so I could write this.)
Prices are good, and lots of nice specials. I've ordered many times and had no problems with delivery, returns, etc. Another huge plus is that they carry a lot of non-standard sizes, like tall pants, wide shoes and such. Nice selection too.
The reason I did not give it the top rating is because most of the things I've bought and used regularly, like work clothes, fall apart after about a year. Hems come out, zippers break, buttons pop off, fabric gets snaggy. In other words, it is poorly made. I would rather pay more for something that's better quality.
Been buying clothes from Chadwick's for about 20 years. Lately I find that shipping is way too expensive. They offer discounts and coupons but they tack it all back with shipping. Example a pair of sandals after $15 coupon came to $19.99. Then comes the shipping and tax and my savings is a total of $3.00.
TJMaxx here I come.
I have ordered clothing several times from this website. The prices are good, the clothes are decent. The clothing isn't going to last you for ten years, but the prices aren't too high so you won't feel ripped off if the sweaters are a little thin. The clothes are pretty nice looking. If you shop the clearance section you can get some really good bargains, and the shoes are really fairly good. I've never had any problems with returns or questions. I would recommend this site.
I am 5'7", 139 lbs. I bought a pair of "woolblend" black pants on Chadwick's, size 8, my usual size for pants. They were much too small in the waist, so I sent them back with the enclosed USPS Chadwick's return label and ordered a size 10. The size 10 were almost exactly too small in the waist as the size 8! But I decided to keep them and have them pressed to wear, hoping I could manage the too-tight waistband. I wore them today with a pin in the too-small waist and found that the pants are a magnet for any piece of lint or white speck of anything, and immediately looked like they needed to be dry cleaned. Meanwhile, the size 8 pants I returned in mid-Dec. Have not reached Chadwick's for the refund. I assumed the return label had a tracking no. On it, but apparently not. Customer service rep has no idea where the returned pants are. Both pants were $59, but by the time shipping was added and some sort of extra shipping fee, the price came up to $80 or more. These cheaply made pants are not worth half of that. I hope the size 8 pants will be credited back to me one dad, but I will never buy from Chadwick's again.
This company is shady. Don't by from them. If you go on their website and they offer a "rebate" they are really setting up your bank account for monthly debits that they think they are entitled to. Sorry in my book this fraud. Don't order from them online, don't order from their catalog. They are a ripoff.
I will never shop with Chadwicks again. Ordered a pair of shoes and they are too big but because they were on sale I can't even exchange them I have called about 4 times and have been put on hold forever. I tried to get a supervisor but never happened. I will NEVER shop with Chadwicks again. Used to be a good company to do business with.
Nice clothing but high on shipping and handling. And forget a full refund if you have to return an item even if you pay for shipping and handling of returned item. Won't be purchasing any further items. What a Rip off!
Chadwicks charges you not once, but twice, if you have to ship an item back that doesn't fit or you don't care for! I spent $42.00 for a pair of pants, my refund was $26.49 and I used their lable to ship it back! Buyer Beware of shipping charges!
Website says order will arrive within 4-7 days of placing the order. My order says it shipped today, 6 days after placing the order, which means I won't get it for another 5 days. I sent an email to customer service yesterday and they replied "so sorry for the inconvenience. " I will never order from them again. Waste of time.
Years ago, I used to purchase clothing from Chadwick's with no issues that I remember but I wish I would have read these reviews prior to recently purchasing a dress from them.
I didn't like the fit so I sent it back using their return label provided with my order.
Took it to the post office to get a tracking number which it was received by them in August 1st.
After talking to a customer service representative today, apparently, the hand off is to another delivery service. The last update on the whereabouts is that since August 7th, my return is still with this other carrier and has yet to reach their warehouse. She informed me that once it reaches their warehouse, it will take 4-6 WEEKS to process my refund! Absolutely unacceptable!
It urks me to no end how quickly they can take your money, then take months to issue your refund. I told the Rep that I am going to dispute the charge on my credit card since I have the proof that they HAVE received my return.
It's not my fault they have a screwed up system that they created. Never, ever again and if you're smart, you'll stay away from Chadwick's!
After waiting for months for a refund on items I returned, I was just told they changed their computer system so they have no information and so I would have to submit all bills, receipts, etc. in order for them to RESEARCH the issue. Very frustrating.
Even though I kinda like their stuff I won't be ordering from them again.
Very dissatisfied with the shipping time. Ordered on the 20th of February, didn't ship until the 25th and it's now the 8th of March and the package is still several states away. The slowest and most expensive shipping I have ever dealt with. $15.00 shipping charge, two weeks and still haven't received my order. After reading the other reviews I'm concerned about quality. Buyer beware I suppose.
I have called, communicated via on line chat, emailed and sent two letters to Chadwicks customer service to obtain a refund for two elbow length t-shirts I purchased and then returned, because I did not like the way the material fit my style. I returned the two pastel colored elbow length t-shirts in the same box that they were mailed in and I kept the post office receipt to document the return. When the Chadwicks on line chat informed me that I must email the company, I followed the directions but no one answered my query. Subsequently, I sent Chadwicks in Chelmsford MA, the copies of my documentation - the AmEx purchase, proof of payment, the actual confirmation of the order being received and a copy of the USPS receipt as proof of return. No one has responded. I suppose the next step is to contact the Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce? My advice, do not order anything from Chadwicks unless you are 100 percent confident that you will keep and not return the merchandise, because the company really doesn't care to follow up with customer service.
Answer: If the merchandise credit is from Chadwicks of Boston, you lose. I spoke to Level 2 Customer service in Massachusetts and they are not honoring prior merchandise credits from the prior company.
Answer: For winter, I couldn't seem to find lined wool or woolblend pants at my usual go-to shops -- Talbots and Nordstrom -- so I looked online and found some at Chadwick's. I ordered a pair in black in my usual size 8. They were way too small in the waist, so I returned them using Chadwick's enclosed USPS return label, and then ordered a size 10. The size 10s were the same size in the waist as the 8S -- I couldn't believe it! But I had them pressed, thinking I cd. Maybe have them altered. I wore them today, and found that they are cheaply made and that the black attracts lint, dog hair, anything possible that would adhere to the woolblend -- and I pinned the waist closed to make them wearable. My fault -- I should have sent the size 10s back, too, but now it's too late. And Chad's customer service says they still have not received the size 8s I returned, so I have not received a refund for them. Omg. I'm sorry I ordered anything from them. AND, they are billed as $59 but when shipping and other charges are added, they are at least $20 more.
Chadwicks has a rating of 1.4 stars from 70 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Chadwicks most frequently mention customer service, credit card and free shipping. Chadwicks ranks 83rd among Suits sites.
