Tried to cancel my order within 5 minutes after seeing the ridiculous shipping charges and extra charges for Covid-19 and no answer from customer service. Keep getting recording to go online but of course no reply until after they shipped item and charged me multiple shipping charges. Finally got ahold of someone and guess what they couldn't speak good English so all said so sorry and hung up. Buyer beware.
I have been trying, UNSUCCESSFULLY since March 2011 to get my refund of $114.21 from Chadwicks for some items I returned. I was told, a number of times, that the items were in the process of being shipped. Then after calling back 4 times I was told my order got lost when they converted over to a new system. I was then told 3-4 times that my check was in the mail. I contacted the Mass Attorney Generals Office and the Better Business Bureau of Mass Bay and added my complaint to the list of the customers who are struggling to get resolution. In mid-July I find out the company is going through bankruptcy proceedings and that I'd have to wait an additional 45-60 days before they 'can get back to me.' Surprisingly last week I received another catalog in the mail from them. It's sad that they can keep my money and cry broke, yet continue to send out catalogs.
Save yourself the frustration. Don't order from Chadwicks!

After over 20-years buying from Chadwick's, we (my wife and I) ran into an issue. A simple issue that I believe could have been settled with SOME customer service. Apparently Amy was having a bad day so, after our conversation I canceled my account, I have sworn never purchase anything from their store again. If you are thinking of purchasing an item from Chadwick's or plan on opening a credit account with Chadwick's, I would HIGHLY recommend you don't. Shop somewhere else.
Like a fool I keep ordering from this company because they have tall sizes. Every time I do I get the run around. I always have to call and verify my credit card. When I do I get told you will receive your order within 7-10 business days … but wait … when I placed the order all my items were in stock … to continue…so I never get my order and when I call back to find out where my order is I have to verify my card again … at this point EVERY time I lose my cool and blow up. Now my items are out of stock and I sit on back order for months until I end up canceling it. I hear them typing when I call, probably noting my profile that I am a raving witch and all they say is "I'm sorry". NO YOU'RE NOT! Stop putting customers through crap when they're trying to give you money! I feel like I have to beg them to let me spend my money. Their service is horrific.
Back when I needed matching blazers, they had a couple in stock. I had ordered a couple one time but the shipping took a while. It wasn't a bad experience, I should have just ordered it earlier but still I wouldn't see it as a negative experience since I always got what I wanted. It fit me perfectly and I would buy from them again.
Beware, don't buy from Chadwicks I have been buying from Chadwicks for approx. 15 years and have always been happy with the quality and style. Chadwicks advertises that they are back better than ever which is a lie. I bought pink corduroy pants even though the company drastically increased its prices, charges a $1 Covid surcharge (what the heck is that?) and on top of that charges excessive shipping. A $44.99 item ended up costing $61.54. I was willing to put up with all that just because I really liked the pants (I haven't received them at the time of this review). I won't buy again from them because during checkout, an offer to become a VIP Club popped up. Thinking it was an invitation to receive offers, I clicked on yes and to my huge unpleasant surprise, I had been tricked into a $14.95 per month membership (with a trial period) where I can buy from other companies with a minuscule cash back percentage and $10 off shipping rebates or free shipping - I am sure with lots of strings attached!. And anyway I can buy directly from these companies (like Target where I can buy online anyway without having to pay any fees and I can pick up my wares at any of their stores. Has Chadwicks sunk so low that now they need to trick customers into needless and deceptive memberships? Because they surely do not tell customers upfront what this VIP membership is about. I'm actually thinking about filing a deceptive trade practices claim with the Attorney General of Texas.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have been enrolled IN their VIP PROGRAM and NEVER, EVER, asked for that! They have been charging my bank account for TWO MONTHS! I HAVE SENT already two messages asking them to STOP that. NO ANSWER! This is not HONEST from CHADWICKS!

Do not purchase from Chadwick! The quality is NOT the same as the previous owners and they are UNETHICAL. They applied an unauthorized enrollment fee to my card more than a month after l received an order that I tried to cancel BEFORE it shipped. I really wish l had read the reviews first. BUYER BEWARE!
I ordered 4 products for my wife that showed as available on their website, on 12/12/2020.
ON 12/14/2020 I received an email saying all 4 were now on back order.
On 12/19 I received a package that was supposed to be large tall leggings, but in fact was a size 14 tweed skirt, 4 sizes too large for my wife as she is 5'-10" and size 10 bottom and it is crappy quality on top of that!
I call them, they agree to overnight me a new set of leggings, but the other stuff is now on back order until FEBRUARY then while on the call they said it is on back order too so what was shown as available, that I payed 2 day overnight shipping on is now not available at all!
They said they'd refund the first charge for the wrong item and shipping, then in February or March if the other stuff comes in send it then.
It is not the end of the world but shorting my wife these 4 items for Christmas is wrong.
We will not use Chadwicks again, as they would not even offer a 50% refund on the products being so late.
In this time of Covid, I am blessed to be working and healthy, but companies like this that screw over customers should go out of business as they do not deserve to exist.
What they say they shipped was black leggings and it is a tweed skirt! Look at the picture!

I have been a customer of Chadwicks for more years than I can remember. Circumstances leading up to my dissatisfaction are that I placed an order, and they shipped it to me... twice, but not at the same time. I received the first order then a few weeks later, the second. I neglected to send the order back within their return guidelines. Therefore, they gave me a merchandise credit, which I wasn't happy about since it was their fault in the first place AND I had to pay to ship it back. So now I have a merchandise credit of $110.21. This happened in Spring of 2019. Fast forward... I try to use my credit sometime earlier this year, I forget when, but come to learn they are closed, but will be returning. Fast forward to today when I tried to use my credit. They refused to honor it saying they don't have any record of my previous order. I have an email with the order number, with my name, billing address shipping address and phone number, none of which have changed in 15 years. Conveniently, they can't find anything in their system. So, because of their mistake in the first place, I'm out $110.21. NEVER AGAIN will I do business with them.
The quality of their clothing has gone down hill. When trying to return an item that was mislabeled as straight leg (when the item that arrived was clearly wide leg boot cut), I was lied to about the return shipping label, The company requires the customer pay the return shipping cost, in this case $13.80 EVEN THOUGH THE WRONG ITEM was received. Only after I threatened a BBB complaint and had to get a supervisor involved (ah-la Karen) did they agree to a refund and told me to donate the jeans to charity. Not worth the hassle for sure.

Answer: If the merchandise credit is from Chadwicks of Boston, you lose. I spoke to Level 2 Customer service in Massachusetts and they are not honoring prior merchandise credits from the prior company.
Answer: For winter, I couldn't seem to find lined wool or woolblend pants at my usual go-to shops -- Talbots and Nordstrom -- so I looked online and found some at Chadwick's. I ordered a pair in black in my usual size 8. They were way too small in the waist, so I returned them using Chadwick's enclosed USPS return label, and then ordered a size 10. The size 10s were the same size in the waist as the 8S -- I couldn't believe it! But I had them pressed, thinking I cd. Maybe have them altered. I wore them today, and found that they are cheaply made and that the black attracts lint, dog hair, anything possible that would adhere to the woolblend -- and I pinned the waist closed to make them wearable. My fault -- I should have sent the size 10s back, too, but now it's too late. And Chad's customer service says they still have not received the size 8s I returned, so I have not received a refund for them. Omg. I'm sorry I ordered anything from them. AND, they are billed as $59 but when shipping and other charges are added, they are at least $20 more.
