Cato double dips your account when you place a order on line. I used my debit card and charged $22,98 and Cato's debited addition charge of $23.01 not even the prices of my order it was more. I called cato and ask why they debited my bank account more then what i bought! They call it a pre authorization charge. It has been 3 days and it still pending. Well when you have something pending on your checking account the bank has a hold on your funds and you can not spent that 23.01 until cato release there one time authorization charge. They are playing with your banking account they could cause someone to have bounced checks if you placed a big order or even a small order. Hope this keep you from not having a over drawn bank account.

Raynal helped me out from head to toe. She had me buying things I hadn't come in there for, but at the end of the day it was worth it I was complemented all night long. And my entire wardrobe was cost efficient and so stylish

I was totally shocked when the sales rep told me that Cato does not offer any type of discounts to its customers since majority of their sales are with seniors and a lot of veterans. This did not sit well with me and I will be letting all of the people that I know who spends their money shopping in these stores about this disapointment.

2 days straight I've been here and this store isn't open. Cato 1097 Ironton Ohio? This isn't a good thing. Take it over the river to Ashland, Ky Over 14 people have came to those doors and had to leave.

Always have good sales and cute clothing. Plus sizes are always appropriate for all ages. Love their handbag selection and shoes. Jewelry is some of the nicest I've seen in a small store like Cato.

I had the worst experience shopping at the 518 store in Katy, Texas last night. The sales person (Diane) and store manager (Randi) don't know how to provide good customer service. I was making a purchase but also returning a pair of leggings that I bought on sale for $9.99 and I did not have the receipt so Diane tells me I can only get back $4.99 since I did not have my receipt. I pointed out that the tags were still in tact but she said "we need the receipt so we can see what you paid for them." Of course the tag clearly showed they were bought on sale for $9.99 so I told Diane I did not agree with their "Policy" and she grabbed a sign from in front of the register with the store policy and put in my face to read. She kept emphasizing on the "return policy" and at one point I stated that I did not have do business with them and with an attitude she responded saying "No you sure don't" so I asked to speak with the manager, who I thought would be more professional, but she also kept emphasizing what the policy was and picked up the same sign for me to read but also felt the need to point out the policy was also printed on the receipt. I was not fighting over the $5 they wanted to keep, I just made the comment that I did not agree with their return policy, especially if the tags were still in tact on the item. I ended up getting my money back on the 2 items I returned with a receipt but Randi told me the only way to get the $4.99 back for the leggings was to give me a gift receipt. However, I had already told her that I was not going to purchase any new items and would not be shopping at Cato in the future. After spending over an hour in the store, I walked out frustrated and very angry with the leggings I was hoping to return. They have lost my business and after reading some of the other comments that have been made, it seems others have had the same experience I have. This company will not survive if the it continues with their strict return policy and continues hiring unprofessional staff. Maybe I am old school, happy customers can make a business successful but when they stop doing business with you because of poor customer service or strict return policy's, eventually you will not have a business at all.

Fading clothes

Both faded every wash
One stained my leather car seat
The dye rubbed off on my upper arms
Clothing bad quality. Material cheap bad quality sewing bad quality
In US before everything went overseas these dresses would qualify as seconds and thirds in the sewing dept

I've been a customer of Catos for years, never had an issue, always treated nicely. I went in there Sat and bought 3 blouses@ 22.99 each and a bracelet for $7.99. I got home and the bracelet was not in my bag, I called Catos and got the noise that a fax machine makes. I went in Sunday to let them know the $7.99 bracelet had been left out of my bag. There were two black ladies and a white lady there, the white lady told me she would have to ask her manager. Long story short, there was some back and forth and I ended up called corporate because at this point it was no longer about the bracelet. The District Manager told me she would look at the film, me knowing I had paid for the bracelet, was thrilled knowing she would see the truth. She called to tell me that she looked at the film and the rep put the bracelet in my bag. She said she wrapped it up in tissue and put it in my bag with the three shirts, which was a bold faced lie, I don't think she looked at the tape at all. I was told by the rep that transferred me to the District Manager that they only review tapes if someone falls or for something more serious. The rep in the store Never even reached for the tissue to wrap it up. There was no tissue in the bag, neither was the bracelet but I was charged for it. I am DONE with Cato. I paid $22.99 per blouse, why would I lie about a $7.99 bracelet. The manager said she will let me look at the film, that she'll call me when she's back in town. We'll see! Always check Your bag if you shop at Cato!

Poor customer service
December 15, 2021

My sister and I went to store #1113. We were the only customers and there was only one employee there. The employee did not greet us nor look our way. After being there for a few minutes she didn't ask if we needed any assistance. After my sister made her choice, she went to the counter and had to stand there for a few minutes while the employee (with her back turned) talked on the phone with a co-worker about their schedule. We love the store but this experience has put a bad taste in our mouths.

Design Fails
January 29, 2022

Catos used to be my "go to" place for cute fashions, but lately most of the new lines are poor quality, gaudy colored, or just plain weird designs! Big women do not want ruffles across their busts or around their waists. WalMart is doing something right, because they are providing better quality clothes at a MUCH better price! I can understand why most of the stores are basically empty now... whoever is doing the designing or buying for the chain should be fired! Bring at least some classic wear back!

I had a return and was going to purchase another item. I thought that the item was on sale, but it was not, so I did not purchase it. Associates were not friendly and seemed like I was putting them out. They were knowledgeable about the item, but did not go out of their way to be helpful.

I have been shopping at Cato's for at least 10 years. I love their different fashions and their quality is fantastic I'm still wearing a lot of my Catos from years ago. I have several closets full of Cato's clothes.

I love shopping shopping at but there is 1store out of all store I shop at that verrrry baddd customer service. Southaven Mississippi store on stateline need teach their workers there how to provide great customer service... I ask the young lady to scan a ticket so I could see if a blouse was on sale she replied and she could not cause her machine scanner would not let her... then she turn to me and said 6 feet please... maybe if she put a mask on she would have to say that. Especially to customer... 5/27/*******@about 5:20 pm
PS. i want shop this location anymore

I recently wrote a review about the Cato Prattville AL store noting how I often encountered the workers treating me like I wanted to steal. As a result, I hadn't been in that store in years. I bragged on the Montgomery, AL Ann Street store that I didn't feel uncomfortable there. At least not until today. I just left there and from the moment I walked in the Staff started searching the racks around me. Again, I felt that uncomfortableness. I am a hardworking IT Professional who wouldn't steal a hot dog. I'm starting to think that the Cata stores train their employees to behave in such a way. I shop online and at the stores and even though I still like the clothes I need to leave Cata alone for a while. Probably a long while.

I VISITED CATO TODAY AND BOUGHT A FEW THINGS. THE LADY THAT WAITED ON ME WAS
CASHIER #101... I AM SORRY BUT I CAN NOT REMEMBER HER NAME BUT I THINK SHE IS MANAGER. SHE WAS SO SWEET AND SO HELPFUL... SHE HAD A HARD TIME WITH A SECURITY DEVICE ON ONE OF MY PURCHASES BUT SHE CALLED ME LATER AND TOLD ME SHE GOT IT OFF AND I PICKED IT UP. SHE IS A GREAT EMPLOYEE AND VERY HELPFUL AND EFFICIENT.
