Trusted seellers sells fake items. Custom destroyed item amd I got penalty. And after four months customers service didn't help and answer to any question. They are answering (once per month not in 48 hours) but they don't answer. Don't trust and buy on this platform. Worst expericence
1/ their seller verification tool sucks. They partner with Stripe who perform this for them and the accue of Stripe AI algorithms isn't very good. Took me multiple attempts with various docs to verify my address.
2/ The 'experts' will refuse your listings simply if they think your listing isn't interesting enough!
About half the items on catawiki will never come to you. My current gripe is with a package which was "delivered" but only to my country, there is no address. The seller says they have no idea what happened...not sure if that's true but catawiki has done nothing to address it. They just sent me form emails for months and then said the seller is on holiday. BS, refund it. Horrible company that I will never be working with again. Very very dissappointed. Please do not do business with them, they don't even offer a phone number or chat line to speak with anyone- only email and they respond weeks later.
Horrible experience. Will not pay me. They say I will get paid Wednesday, then next Wednesday comes and no payment. This happens over and over. This company is very good at hiding themselves and ignoring customers. Stay far away from them.
I am doubtful about the site's experts. Descriptions of lots are sometimes inaccurate and impossible to correct. Customer service is not helpful. Shipping costs outrageous. Unsold lots reappear ad nauseum, yet misleading untruthful descriptions are not corrected despite repeated requests by this buyer to do so. Avoid this site like the plague. There must be a better and more professional site somewhere out there!

Frustrating money machine - that's all catawiki is. 'customer support' are pointless drones, looking for the easiest solution with them keeping as many of their fees as possible.
I've received items back (claimed not working or damaged) that are completely different to the ones sent out, I have to pay seller and buyers fees, plus postage in both directions. On an item costing e.g. 100 eur, that's around 20 eur in postage costs and another 25 eur in fees. So you receive back something that's not working, damaged or different and you get to pay 45 euros for the convenience!
Go elsewhere as a seller.
Bought an item, 14 days passed before confirmation item was shipped, this is against Catawiki rules, so left negative feedback. By some magick, this feedback was quickly deleted on the(very big) seller's account(by Catawiki, I presume). The feedback is a scam, only showing the positive, because Catawiki gets money from the commission on sellers... it's all a trap for idiots wasting their money on the Catawiki website
Please do not buy anything here. They never respond is you have a problem after the purchase. No customer service whatsoever. Be aware that it's a scam, no one will return you money, respond or help to fix it. As soon as you made a purchase, you stop existing to them.
I was a seller and they they didn't pay me. I would not trust this fraud and scam company at all! As an artist I have lost several pieces without compensation. Don't buy and don't sell via Catawiki anything!

I bought a antique from Catwiki and in description stand that the object will be sent by a proper certificate but what I received was a A4 paper made in WORD doc by a child.
I gave the seller a negative feedback and Catawiki just removed my feedback after some days.
I realized then that many other buyer had also same issue but catawiki had changed their feedback to Neutral!
So Catawiki is not a trustworthy site ever much worth than eBay.
(At least eBay do not remove your negative feedback)

Complete scam.
Complete scam. They send you broken items. You get a few hours to complain, then after over x amount of days you get a few hours to arrange return or they get to keep your money if you can't make 4 hours free of working hours to arrange the return of a worthless broken item that they charged a minimum of almost 200 euros payment and the keep unless you find packing material and a printer before the courier is knocking Great gamble on their part.
They told me to wait for experts to decide who will pay for the return shipment, told me the result after 14 days, I send it back and pay for it, then they say they won't give me back the 461€ because the 14 days were over. Now I neither have the product nor the money. Will go to court!
Although I buy many bottles of whiskey all over the world this company was really poor in their behavior. I bought three bottles from a French seller that didn't have very good rating from other buyers just because they said that my money would be safe with them until my delivery. So I paid and after 2 months that I hadn't received anything and the seller didn't replied to my emails I turn to them asking for a full refund as the say in their company rules... They avoid answering to my constant emails and they only told me that they were looking about what happened with a standard automatic email... I mean sure that I lost my money for good but they lost as well because not only I won't buy from them anymore but because from now on to all my friends in the whisky associations that I am a member I will say to keep away from them...
Bought a watch that didnt work and appears to might be fake, support ignored the request for months after claiming it would give quality control! The seller now no longer responds and support has said its not their problem, AVOID as you will get scammed
The seller sent me a page in Dutch (not even in English) that I did not know how to translate, they tried delivery one day, without notifying me by email, I was not at home and they never tried again (I paid €45 for shipping)
I complained to Catawiki and they told me that they had already paid the seller and that I should settle with him, the seller does not pay any attention to me, he tells me that Catawiki will return the money, and so I go and nobody solves anything for me.
Catawiki charges extra to protect the buyer, I really don't know what they have protected me from...I will never buy anything from their website again!
They are scammers!, if everything goes well, great...but if you have a problem, you lose the product and your money and no one cares.

Catawiki is a terrible site, designed to make easy profits from auctions without any responsibility towards the buyer. Bought a table that came with a missing part and was in general not as described. Because they only allow disputes for three days, they basically told me to bugger off and simply closed the chat window. This comes on the heels of having bought another item that was advertised as "antique" and turned out to be a cheap reproduction. The added two minutes at the end of each winning bid drives prices up and you end up overpaying for a mediocre item. The sellers on Catawiki know this, and many take advantage of the blasé attitude of the company, knowing there's not much you can do except dispute the purchase through your credit card. And their "experts" estimating the value? What a scam... no one looks at the items and accurately examines what is being sold. Honestly, I highly doubt they even exist. Do yourself a favor and skip this platform.
Catawiki is a total scam. I made an order December 18th. I waited 30 days, no item no refund. I tried to open a dispute. They answered please wait because of COVID delays. Finally January 29th I was allowed to enter a dispute. They at first swore they were on it. Then I just stopped hearing from them accept for computer responses saying they would be in touch in two days. Never happened once. I have made orders from Europe in February that have arrived so Catawiki COVID excuse is bull$#*!. Now I look at customer support and the whole case has been removed. Like they settled it but forgot to tell me. Don't even bother. Go directly to your credit card or PayPal account and put them on it. Avoid Catawiki at all costs!
Hello! I will now be a permanent Catawiki hater. I won a lot worth about 8k euros on April 23rd. On April 24, I made a payment for the item, and on April 25, I was charged the seller protection fee. Today is May 13th and Catawiki still hasn't seen my payments. They are not able to check their accounting by account number. The chat is sometimes available one or two days a week, sometimes there is no such button as in the photo above. On Friday after business hours, they recommend that my bank, at my expense, clarify what's wrong with the payment and say that they will wait. And on Monday morning we receive a newsletter that the buyer canceled the transaction, but we will not return the payment for buyer protection, because... It's your fault that we can't identify the payment, not us.
Support can respond after three days and with absolutely no intention of understanding the issue. I do not recommend anyone to deal with Catawiki.
PS: The money is stuck somewhere, apparently we will have to wait for months for its return.
Now i know why Catawiki has a loss of $13.7 million.
It happens when experts like Mr Carlos Peña Renis wasted my 1 month and at the end all lots were rejected and then i sold those precious jewellery into another platform in a week in a good margin.
How big loss it is for the catawiki, how many other sellers might be rejected like that and look who is losing ( ONLY Catawiki) because of these unprofessional experts.
I tried to contact the help like and inform them about this issue, but no one is going to hear you.

Answer: There is customer support but you'll have to be patient. It can take weeks for them to get back to you. Buyers are protected, you just need to push and keep pushing. Sellers are required to send everything with tracking and insurance, so you should be OK.
Answer: Promise of something different. Sadly different is very. Very bad!
