Prepaid and reserved a car in Tampa with Green Motion. Showed up and there were no cars available. Then they refused to refund the prepaid fee. Last few times I used them, every booking I was scammed. Never again.
They dont even deserve one star! Pathetic is the best word to describe the sevice! Dont even borher to use the whats app chat cause they cant assist.
You say you want to collect at a place and the quotes they send is 600km away and not one ways as stipulated on the website. Once you send a whats app for assistance they revert you back to the quotes. Never have I ever delt with such a useless company. I should have read the reviews before even bothering using the website.It took them 5 hours from the firs whats I sent to the final whats app to revert me back to quotes.

I booked a vehicle through them for our honeymoon in Banff. We got stuck in Denver due to bad weather and was unable to contact the rental place to change or cancel. Carrentals.com claimed that the rental place (Routes in Calgary) would refund me. We had to go through another rental place, and when we got back I received an email saying that the refund was denied. When I called, they gave me the run around and proceeded to scam money out of my account. I had to call the bank, cancel their fraudulent charges, get a new card, and am contesting their earlier charge. I finally got a hold of Routes rental and they claimed that it was carrentals.com that charged me (it does appear that way)...so they lied to me.

I highly recommend you avoid this company and either go directly to the car rental company or use another middle man. I had a problem at the car rental place, which I genuinely believe was caused by carrentals.com not providing me all the information I needed. The customer support guy (Marwan) was sympathetic and agreed with me but all he could do was direct me to an email address to raise a complaint. I sent my complaint email but was quickly brushed off by another representative stating the information was in the T&C's. I replied pointing out that the information was not in the T&C's, the rental voucher or any email correspondence. I was then ignored.
If there was a 0 to give i would get nothing but run around never got email confirmation yet no one can look up reservation with itin #. Will not use
My R # EZ*******BA. I booked the car in Orlando by CarRentals,com. The day I was supposed to pick up the car, my flight was delayed and I sent the text message, I let them know that my flight was delayed. I arrived in the airport and I called the number and requested for pick up from terminal B and whoever answered the call, he said my reservation got cancelled but he had the car for me and I have to pay $250 per day. When I made the reservation to your website, I already made the full payment. I believe this is not a good business policy cancelling the current reservation and charging me 10 times the original price.
I called Enterprise 800 # for car rentals to rent a pickup the call got rerouted to carrentals.com while i was under the impression i was talking to enterprise the person on the phone said i needed a prepaid card or gift card i put 500 dollars on the card they then told they cannot accept the card after i foolishly gave them the card num. They took the money and they say it will be 3 days to get refunded it only takes them 2 seconds to take the money why cant they put that money back in 2 seconds, after I called and was very upset they told me they would call me back they have not and now they blocked my number if enterprise allows them to intercept there calls enterprise should be held accountable also CarRentals.com is in a sense representing enterprise and if they don't accept the gift card why was the money taken and now that card has a zero balance that a lot of money to loseit makes me sick.Carol Rawlings. All the reviews here are real. Worst company ever. I cancelled the rental 2 days prior to pick up. And they are still charging me for the rental. I have all the emails proving that I'd cancelled. Now they are saying I was a no show. And won't refund me. Don't rent from them. You are paying to have a headache on your vacation
I don't even think this company is legit. They charged me ahead of time for a rental and coverage. I get to the rental counter at the airport, they have my reservation, but no record of payment. Went back and forth with emails with rentalcars.com with no explanation from them as to why they charged me for a rental and I paid the rental car company as well upon my return of the car. Sent them a rental agreement showing that I purchased the coverage from the rental car company, rentalcars.com says they will refund the amount I paid for the coverage, but no indication of returning my payment of the rental car itself. Talked to customer service rep and got the runaround. No answer as to why I paid their company and the rental car company for the same car. Basically got the runaround. I am disputing this charge with my bank.
I did not realize when I booked the car that I went through a third party company. Be very careful when booking a car and book directly from the rental car company. This company apparently takes your information and just makes a reservation for you, meanwhile keeping your money and acting like you paid ahead of time for the rental, and then giving you the runaround about refunding your money. THEY DON'T PAY THE RENTAL CAR COMPANY; THEY KEEP YOUR MONEY! I rented a car out of the country, so I thought it was just policy to pay for the car ahead of time. Nope! Do your research and never use a third party.

Booked a midsize car for Carrentals.com paid $88 up front and was to pay $87 when I picked it up in LIR FOX Eurocar was the supplier they charged me $431.03 for the car it was supposed to be $174. Called Carrental.com got the run around told me to call a number in Costa Rica I told them (carrental) that I booked it Thu them no help. Terrible company.
We reserved (via Carrentals.com) a full-size car in Orlando, Florida, between December 22 and December 26,2022. The rental car company was Mex Rentals. The reservation indicated that the car rentals are available 24/7. When we arrived, we called the number given in the reservation to request a shuttle from the airport to their office. We called the number multiple times, no one picked up the phone. We went to the pick-up area but no one heard about this rental company and the directory on the shuttle pick-up area wall did not list this company. We went around the rental car area - no one has ever heard about this car rental company. We had to take an uber car to the hotel and pay for it. The next morning we called the car rental company office multiple times until someone picked up the phone. It was not the office of Mex itself but a generic service that serviced multiple businesses. They explained that the phone service had been closed for the day when we arrived. They gave us a physical address of Max Rentals to go to at our expense again. It turned out to be an address that even an uber driver had a lot of trouble finding. The office was not for Mex Rentals but for multiple companies. So Max Rentals is just a name... We found a representative and explained our refusal to pay for the period when we could not pick up the car because of their unavailability. The representative insisted that we pay. When we asked for his manager, he gave us a number that led to him as the person answering our call. We considered this behavior as shameful fraud. At the end, we refused to pick up the car because we no longer considered this a legitimate business and indicated that we would write a full review. Do not agree to any rental from Max or any other company listed at *******125 or 3255 McCoy Rd.
I got scammed with this company. Although the rental price was fine they sold me an insurance that I could not use, the same day. They told me to wait for 72 hours. Nothing happened for six days. I contacted them back. They said that since the trip was consumed they could do nothing. Stay away, or book the car only, do not buy the insurance in Mexico.
These guys cant be real. I booked through them and when i go to get my car they have not payment confirmation or booking info. I had to rent another vehicle. This was over 1 year ago and i have been trying to get my money back since and they will just tell you BS and never give you your money. Skip these guys and any sites that use them. I dont understand how they remain in business.
I rented a car for a weekend starting on Thursday at 6pm. Due to a hurricane in Florida, all airports were closed on Thursday so I could not arrive during that night. When I arrived on Friday morning, the car rental company informed me that my reservation had been cancelled (automatically, 2 hours after my expected arrival time, despite a statewide emergency) and they did not have any cars available for me. I did not receive any calls, text or emails from anyone - they simply cancelled it on their own without informing me. I thought I would get some support from Carrentals.com since I had rented the car through them but after struggling to speak with someone at the company (their website does not include a phone number and the chat did not work), they did not provide any support and refused to refund my deposit. In other words, I was left without a car, which I was forced to pay for.
Don't use this website. They work with scam artists and have horrible customer service. Go directly with a creditable car rental company.
Never got car or refund! They left me and three kids strand! Beware just use a more well know company.
This company set up a reservation for me to pick up a car the same day I made the reservation. 30 mins later I realized they set me up with a company that WILL NOT rent to locals for any reason at all. Tried to cancel the reservation, but per their policy the window closed yesterday( the day before the pick up) when there was NO reservation at all. Just the most stupid people on the planet,
Answer: Carrentals.com is a scam outfit. Never pay in advance. Read the fine print. I have been traveling and renting cars for 40 years and have never dealt with a more unprofessional or dishonest travel company.
Answer: Back in the days they were my favorite website, they were the best, I didn't use anything else. But not anymore, they just joined the scammers and become of of them.
Answer: Stupidity, because everything is so darn expensive in 2022 that it pushes unsuspecting victims over to the "promises promises" platforms, like CarRentals.com.
