Eventhough I left car one day before than I booked they didnt pay my money back ane defended themselves as writing this on contract. Noone can read so many procedure during renting a car. They force you to pay money without any service or product. Customer rights say it is not allowed to get payment without having service but they know that noone will pursue this for 100-200 in an international area.
Terms and conditions are apparently indicative only and you will find the real deal when you collect. Ended up paying double for same services. Customer service maintained they do not know the terms and conditions of their offers so it is not their problem.
Rentalcars is terrible!
They cancelled my booking without notifying me; I turned up there and there was no car available; my whole travel plan was ruined since all other providers were sold out.
Terrible customer service over the phone; they hold me 30 min on hold when I asked to talk to manager and they disconnect the call before talking to the manager
Worst rental cars company. The car was dropped off 5 days earlier and they didn't refund the unused days although the car company doesn't charge for them. Their insurance wasn't accepted by the car rental company as full insurance. Nobody ever picked up the call in Romania. It takes ages to manage the issues. Think twice before you book your car through them!
Canceled my reservation without notifying me. No recourse, not even an apology. Couldnt even help me find another car.
I shop multiple sites when I rent a car. Of them, Carrentals has a good selection, like most travel sites, but I find better pricing elsewhere at places such as Hotwire. I'll look at these guys anyway just to make sure that I've found the best deal, but invariably I do better on other car rental sites.
CarRentals.com flipped the location for return that I had entered on their website, when I went to pickup the car there was an additional $89 charge for a one way rental, I ended up renting a car for less than the extra charge from another vendor. After dealing with the nearly non-existent customer service I was never granted a refund for the car that I did not rent. I will never do business with them again, what a rip off.
I recently rented a car from E-Z Rent-a-Car through www.CarRentals.com at Pearson Airport in Toronto. This was very frustrating! The experience I had would lead me to advise anyone to avoid this service at all cost. Firstly, the website leads one to believe that they are located, like many other rental agencies, at the airport. They are not, and it takes 2 steps, (train and shuttle vehicle) to get to an office in a little Hotel of Airport Rd.
The car was very dirty inside and the seats full of stains. I had to wipe the steering wheel with a wet wipe before being able to touch it.
The morning after pick up I found the car with a flat tire. I called the agency and they told me to come back to the office to change cars. After paying $160 Road Assistance, I returned to the agency. Instead of reimbursing me for the Road assistance they wanted an extra $300 deposit for the damaged tire before giving me a new car. They told me I would have to deal this all out with my insurance from www.CarRental.com upon my return. I declined to give them another $300 deposit on top of the $500 they already had and took the car for a tire repair myself which cost me $22.90 to remove a rusty 5 inch screw which according the guy in the garage may have been already for a while in there.
This rental car company impacted my plans for almost two days. I will not use this website and rental company ever again.
Answer: Carrentals.com is a scam outfit. Never pay in advance. Read the fine print. I have been traveling and renting cars for 40 years and have never dealt with a more unprofessional or dishonest travel company.
Answer: Back in the days they were my favorite website, they were the best, I didn't use anything else. But not anymore, they just joined the scammers and become of of them.
Answer: Stupidity, because everything is so darn expensive in 2022 that it pushes unsuspecting victims over to the "promises promises" platforms, like CarRentals.com.
