I Booked 2 cars with carrenatal.com, at the pickup time we have got a bigger car, not what we ordered, we asked to cancel it, the rental company agree to give us a full refund but I had to ask carentals.com approval, they didn't agree to the full refund and charged me for 3 days fees - next time I will book directly from the company and with this agency - good to know this is your customer service.
I thought that, because it was tied *******@Expedia, it would be a reasonable site, but not so. I have been trying to get my cancelled car (which they didn't actually have available) refunded. I have now received a monthly charge on what should have been refunded pretty quickly, but still, NOTHING. DO NOT USE THIS GARBAGE! And for the record, I have been calling and/or emailing, daily.
I rented a car from Budget for 3 days through Carrentals in January this year. Over two months later, without any forwarning, reason or authorisation, Budget took money from my credit card. My emailed requests to Budget for an explanation have gone unanswered. I have since sought a resolution from Carrentals as it is from them that I booked the car. They have offered no support and have effectively distanced themselves from the rental company that they actively promote. Carrentals will happily take your money but if anything goes wrong do not expect any surport from them whatsoever.

They took our money and sent us to pick up the car at a Thrifty office that was CLOSED. After an hour in the phone maze and on hold, the best they can do is offer an email address to file a complaint.

This site is a rip off. I called ahead to ensure I could use my own insurance and they said no problem as long as I brought a copy of my coverage page. When I got to the rental office, I was told there was a problem within their system and I would have to pay $235 extra for the insurance unless I wanted to wait 3 hours for the system to come back on line, Needless to say I told them to credit me and shove their car up their butts and went elsewhere. Never got the credit until I made 2 phone calls and emails
I called customer service to let them know that my flight was delayed and I landed after the location had already closed at 1am. My flight did not land until after 1:30am. They told me I could not get refunded per their policy. They said it would take over 2 hours to re-book which wasn't an option since it was past 2am at this point and I had a meeting at 7am with a 1+ hr drive from LAX to OC. So I had no other choice but to rent from another rental agency. After trying to resolve with their customer service the following day, they wouldn't even apply the credit to a future reservation and said they would not refund me. I will never use their service again (their support team is based in UK). We will dispute with credit card company and chargeback. Awful company, don't bother. I hope people see this to avoid this mess.
We reserved a 3 day car rental with CarRentals.con - paid fully upfront. They sent us a voucher which included a map with directions the rental agency location, When we arrived at the indicated location there was no rental agency!. 2 hours later after many costly phone calls to CarRentals.con and the rental agency we managed to arrive at the actual rental place - but it was already closed and we could not reach anyone to pick up the car. To add insult to injury when we finally got through to an agent from CarRentals.con they blamed US for being late and refused to issue a refund.
I attempted to rent a car for my trip to Washington. They could not provide me a confirmation number. I received an email from them, so I know that they have my correct email address. Numerous attempts resolve this have been frustrating. No customer support. AVOID this SCAM!
So sorry I didn't see these reviews before trying to hire a car. Their partner (SixT) refused to provide the car that was booked because I didn't have a physical credit card - only one on my phone. They told me that there were links on the website that highlight the fact a physical plastic credit card was required. When asked where they were they didn't respond and did not provide a refund.
I accidentally clicked accept and cancelled the mistaken reservation immediately. I was charged $50! This company has no phone customer service, and the virtual assistant on the website did not resolve the issue by refunding this $50 fee. Terrible treatment of customers. Horrible booking policy. Even airlines allow you to cancel up to 24 hours.
They wanted 2,000 euros deposit upon picking up a car, 83+ euros upfront for gas and more! After getting online to chat they did nothing. READ THE SMALL PRINT!
We prepaid our car rental with the site. Due to weather delay we showed up one day late. The company said we invalidated our contract and they would be happy to rent us a car for double the cost. We tried to get our money returned and they happily credited it back with a cancellation fee of the entire amount. So zero refund. Do yourself a favor and don't book through this company.
They are trying to charge me an additional $294 for a $205 rental - for "additional fees and taxes' And then trying to say it was Dollar rental car's fault - even sent them a screenshot of the original receipt from Dollar and there is no mention of the $294 additional fees and taxes' NEVER EVER Again a will I use this company - they are CROOKS
I contacted the agency several days in advance to my reservation to modify my booking as my flights had changed. I just needed to pick up the car 3 hours early, but they said I would have to cancel my booking and re-book. They said I would be charged a $50 cancellation fee and only receive a refund of $30. I asked them to waive the cancellation fee as my flights changing times was completely out of control and I would just be re-booking with their service so they wouldn't be losing any money because of that. The representative told me they couldn't waive the cancellation fee even though the flights changing was completely out of my control. Unacceptable from a car rental company especially when people's flights change all the time. I have submitted a complaint with the Better Business Bureau regarding this issue and will not be using their services again.
I prepaid my reservation with CarRental.com. Picked up the rental car from fox, and dropped it off back to Fox after 2 days at the LAX. Fox said that nothing was paid from CarRental.com, so I had to pay the whole thing again. Contacted the CarRental.com on the same day, they got back to me and asked me to talk to Fox. I called Fox billing department, they said that I made the reservation through Fox's website, and I paid what I needed to pay to Fox. The amount I prepaid to CarRental.com had nothing to do with Fox. That was interesting, because I told them I had the email from CarRental.com that showed my rental reservation with Fox, and the amount I prepaid. Fox wouldn't do anything. I called back the CarRental.com, they assigned a new case number to me, and ask me to wait for a week. Two weeks passed by, no one contacted me. So I contacted CarRental.com again tonight, and why surprised, the virtual agent asked to wait for another week, while I was typing my reply, he used the excuse of no seeing response from me and just left the chat box. That is just a world class customer service. CarRental.com, you truly deserve an "0" rating. My next step is to report this to consumer bureau.
First rental company I know that does not refund for an entire day of no rental. I understand if they don't do half days but an entire day… will never rent again.

If I could give this company less than 1 I would. I booked a rental car but when I got my conformation it was for a vehicle that was not what I needed. When I tried to change the vehicle they kept telling me I was talking to the wrong person and having me call someone else. On my 4th (and final) call they told me I had to start on their webpage,which was where I started to begin with. I contacted my bank and canceled the payment. Maybe they,lol understand now.
Answer: Carrentals.com is a scam outfit. Never pay in advance. Read the fine print. I have been traveling and renting cars for 40 years and have never dealt with a more unprofessional or dishonest travel company.
Answer: Back in the days they were my favorite website, they were the best, I didn't use anything else. But not anymore, they just joined the scammers and become of of them.
Answer: Stupidity, because everything is so darn expensive in 2022 that it pushes unsuspecting victims over to the "promises promises" platforms, like CarRentals.com.
