Every month I pay them $70 and they charge me $48 in interest so the bill never, ever comes down.

Lost my job because of the virus and I am currently living on a shoestring. I'm not going to give these people my last buck. When the economy was flourishing and I was making money I could pay but that has changed. Stay away from these bastards, stay far away. Come take me to court, you can't get blood from a turnip. Good luck.

Zero Stars no Rating is too much!

I find myself on the phone with them every single month! Care credit does not track payments and allocate where they should. They go out of their way to see you don't pay off your promo balance on time and you won't if you don't keep track! Their customer service ( minus a small few) is rude and most UN HELPFUL! They add payments as a "new charge " and charge you interest on it then tell you it was not a charge but an allocation. The whole thing is a scam! I suggest pay them off ASAP then destroy the card! They are a joke and unprofessional facade. Steer Clear

They are taking advantage of people that don't have insurance. How many of us have insurance on our pets. My furry baby has a slipped disc, surgery is 3 or 4 thousand. Care was immediately recommended. Vet office feels better, they have given you an option. You feel like crap, you've seen the outrageous interest rate, you know you can't pay it off in time to beat it. All the time looking at the little animal that depends on you to take care of them. This would be a great card, if they actually gave you more time and a more practical interest rate. But that's not why you have a profitable business. Is there a pet care credit card out there that actually cares about pets?

Unbelievable! I thought I had seen it all, especially lately. Here we are down here in MS and LA, some of us losing everything we have, and Care Credit has the nerve to send out an e-mail that your "thoughts are with us", then in the next sentence, you explain all the different ways we can pay on our card? Are you kidding me? I know that you are in business to take advantage of people like myself that have an emergency whether it's to help ourselves or our pets, but this is beyond disgusting. How do you people sleep at night?

Care Credit sucks
September 18, 2023

I never missed a payment ever, and was never late even once. Today I received a letter from Care Credit that they closed my account- no explanation of any kind. I'll never do business with them and will avoid synchrony
Bank at all costs despite they have the credit card market totally monopolized

HORRIBLE
November 19, 2018

My name is Rosa. In my 20 years of having different credit cards, I've never experienced such a bad service and system as CareCredit. They have the worst customer service and management team. They also don't consider or give sorry to their clients. I would not recommend this credit card service to anyone!

Absolute Theives
March 6, 2019

First, I used Care Credit hesitantly. I had a pair of glasses plus contact lenses which I tried to cancel. They came up with this stupid idea, which I try to avoid. I made my payments on time. Finally, the bill came down to the last $ 700. I was very happy about me coming to an end to this. I said I'm going to pay it all off in one final payment. The care credit thieves tripled my bill and said some nonsense. I told them if they will take away the interest, and they said they cant. Now I ended up having to bay about $ 4,000. For something that started at $ 1500. Please RUN when you see CARE CREDIT. Honestly, they don't deserve 1 star.

Update: I shredded my card and they are still charging me $41 a month for so called security. They absolutely won't cancel it and they charge enormously for those so called promotional deals. Don't pay the minimum balance to these people because your balance will never ever go down not with the charges they stack up on it. I've paid them into the hundreds for the last few months and the balance never goes down. Soon I am going to stop paying these criminals because I've got other bills that are more important. They can come after me. I don't care. They are taking advantage of people and tacking on enormous security fees, and interest in promotional items. This isn't right.

I have used Care Credit to defer 26.99% interest charges on thousands of dollars of dental charges. This in and of itself is unwise as if anything goes wrong you may as well have gone to a loan shark. The setup is that if you have multiple promotions, are making regular payments, when you go online to pay off a deferred interest promotion balance, there is no way to designate or verify that the amount paid will be applied to that promotion payoff. You will then need to phone customer service and request that the payment is used to meet that promotional deadline. Bottom line- they set thier customer's up to fail. LEGAL SCAM! Buyer beware $

As I saw with other reviews, I am not alone here. They are incredibly unclear about their 'promotional period' and if you don't pay the balance in full at that time, you are charged interest accrued over the entire length you have been making payments - accrued to over 1000 dollars. Had I known any of this I would have happily just paid my bill in full the day I left the doctors'. Total scam, horrible service.

Worst credit card ever
October 14, 2023

Just be warned. I paid off every charge I made with them on time and before promotional dead line! I had it for several years. Then my credit score drops a bit because of an issue not related to them. So they cancel my card and I go to use it for my dog emergency and I can't. No letter or e-mail telling me this at all. Don't use Care Credit go another way if you can. I wish I could give them a zero!

Please don't allow your dentist or doctor suggest this card to you. You have to jump through hoops to pay your bill. They make their money on late payment fees and over limit fees. I charged a dentist bill and the office manager said it didn't go through, so then they ran it again and low and behold, now I'm over my limit! And they were nasty about straightening out their own error. Run from this card. It has been a source of great stress for me. If I could give them ZERO stars, I would.

I recently had my carecredit account closed based on an apparent periodic credit report review. Didn't even know any credit card company does this. My account with care credit was well over 3 years old. Never a late payment and balance paid off.

Granted, I am working on repairing my credit following a business bankruptcy 7 years ago. This action by care credit shows that they are not concerned with their customers, as much as they are their bottom line.

Closing an account and indicating that it was closed at request of the creditor only further damages a persons credit score and report.

I have used this company in the past for both my own health care needs, and those of my patients. Never again, will I use them for either.

Never again
February 18, 2024
Updated review

I've had numerous negative experiences with Care Credit in the past, but my most recent one was the final straw. I once had a limit in the thousands on the card; no notification from them that they were reducing said limit. When attempting to purchase new glasses I was shocked to discover that my total limit was a mere $280. In my entire life I have never had such thing happen to me with any card I've owned, so this insult just blew me away. I intend to pay off this card and cancel it once and for all. An absolute disgrace.

You must be joking!

I used to have a limit in the thousands on this card, but an extremely low or non-existent balance. I'm going to guess that's why they decided to hurt me when needing this card the most as I recently discovered that my limit is a mere $280. $280?! Don't give a rat's behind what financial experts say, I'm paying off the little bit I owe and closing out this card once and for all.

Nothing caring about CareCredit
June 26, 2020
Previous review

I recently signed up for a 14-day 'free trial' and then cancelled within that same time frame. Nevertheless, I was charged $149 by them which prompted a fraud alert on my CareCredit Mastercard. What should have been a relatively easy phone call to resolve the matter became a massive headache for me. I spent the the better part of the morning trying to follow their useless 'verification' procedures and also called and spoke to a customer service specialist twice. That was on Sunday... It's now Friday and the matter is STILL not resolved. All I've received is an email informing me to call them again. For what? This is absolutely ludicrous. I have no intention of EVER using this card again and am making plans to either transfer the balance to a card with a significantly lower interest rate or simply pay it off as I can. Their customer service -- or lack thereof -- is appalling.

Read the fine print before you sign up, even if your dentist office makes it really easy to get this card. I was promised 1 year interest free on my balance but they "mistakenly" only gave me 6 months. I noticed the problem after they charged my account the interest from the past six months. Of course they said they can't do anything about it "They can't make any exceptions", even with the dentist office on the phone with me stating their error. Never again. I would stay away.

Veterinary Services
November 8, 2022

We brought our pets to a veterinary clinic and we didn't expect the bill to be outrageous! We applied for care credit on more than one occasion for veterinary services and every time we were turned down without no explanations at all! Everyone says they are so wonderful, but in all actuality, they suck and just made fools out of us! They don't even deserve one star!

Counting credit inquires and then lowering the person's score is just another way to justify higher interest rates for credit. It should not matter, if the person did not take on any new credit. 14 credit inquires shopping for a used car, did not buy a car, score dropped 100 points. It took a week for my score to get back the lost 100 points with the assistance of a credit expert (c y b e r h a c k 0 0 *******@gmail C O m) whom i contact via email and we also talk on phone too (*******817) after a lot of good remark about his service on every credit website. He helped me clear all the inquiries within a couple of days and increase my credit score with 150 points this is totally incredible. He finally advice me that Next time I should tell the dealer only to run one inquire, period, they know it affects your score, but do not give a crap. Or if your interest rate is higher, they get a bigger kickback, for the loan

My dog got sick and I was approved for 2000$ in June. I was using this along with my pet insurance to pay off his bill. I used $1800 of my credit over time. I made my first payment in July for $1000. When I went and looked 12 days later my account showed I only had 200$ available. When I called they informed me payments larger than 500$ take 2 WEEKS to reflect on your account. It would be august before I would see this money in my account again. Heed my warning even if you make payments on time and do the responsible thing they will screw you over. There are hundreds of credit card companies that actually care for their customers and warn them of things like payment delays or processing time. Also they will not inform you of process charges either. When I got the card it took them 3 weeks to charge me $30.00 for the processing fee. I haven't had the credit card for even a month and I regret it completely. Don't get this card.

DONT DO IT!
June 19, 2021

I have had care credit for 3 years. Have paid on time every month. Each year they drop the credit limit to just above what I owe, thereby making it look as though I have not paid down the debt. It drops my credit score Everytime they do it. I called and asked why and they won't give me a reason other than it is reviewed yearly. I went out and got twice the limit with Dental First and they not only charge less interest but they have never dropped my 7500 limit. Do yourself a favor avoid care credit like covid 19.

Open up any other credit card. Not this one, unless you want to be forever in debt! My son needed a root canal, I opened this card and charged $1350. 00 on it for dental services. I didn't pay it off in 6 months so they hit me with interest fee of $172.00 Now when I make a payment of $50 every month, on time, $25. Goes to balance and $25. Goes to interest. Dont do it! It's not worth it!
